Picking out a memorial for a family member can be a very sad, daunting time. Per Jewish tradition,…read morethe headstone is not placed on the grave at the time of burial but usually a t the 1 year anniversary & there is an unveiling ceremony. The kind people at Gaitz agreed to meet us on Saturday to view the different marble colors, look at fonts & see actual headstones, etc. The office is shared with another business & easy to find. Ample parking in the front. Mr. Sandy Gaitz met us himself & showed us a mockup of what we had indicated in emails sent the previous week. Very nice & very patient. He talked us through all of the steps. Who knew they actually confer with a Rabbi on the Hebrew wording to make sure everything is correct. I guess once you get the stone carved you are stuck with it! Jewish owned, Sandy Gaitz previously owned a sign making company (4D Signworx which his sons operate at this time) & Sandy's former Hebrew teacher asked if he could make a headstone for her husband. Sandy realized that headstones were just another application of what he was already doing & realized there was a need for custom headstone design & production. Thus the start of helping people honor their loved ones.
