Definitely not Thrift Store prices. But get ready to spend dollar, dollar bills on Antique finds…read morehere. I'm always on the hunt for a good deal on unique and bizarre finds. That being said, I didn't score anything. Located in Central Ave on the north-bound lane- Nana's is small and has an impressive collection of Antiques. Quick and pleasant chat with the owner(?) who mentioned a couple of sales and their upcoming 40th anniversary on the block. If you're looking for champagne flutes on a beer glass budget- this isn't for the trifter in mind. But do spend a little time though- going through piles of costume jewelry, small metal furniture plus other uncommon finds.

As a fellow weirdo from New Jersey, I fell in love with Nana's Attic from the parking lot. I was…read moregreeted by a face on a post and gargoyles on lamps. A shiny aqua Vespa sat in the sunny parking lot. Once inside, it's floor to ceiling and every nook of space inside countless curios of treasure. Tiny apothecary bottles with 19th century medicinal "cure" labels; taxidermy specimens of all sizes; antique plates; shaving brushes; modern swords, shuriken, even a batarang; glassware smoking paraphranelia; and a delightful selection of canes. The second room contains a wondrous wooden dry bar with red velvet and iron barstools where the owners sometimes sit with friends. Swords and animal heads are mounted on the walls. If you are looking for a moose head to complete your Murder By Death homage haunted house, you can get one here.

a few months ago, while booking our air b&b I googled "what to do in Phoenicia" and the Mystery…read moreSpot was the first thing to come up. Now ive done a bit of traveling and sometimes a place that looks great can be kinda gimmicky, so this was my fear with this location, BUT now that I have been I can promise Mystery Spot was easily my favorite part of our trip. The owner was there, she was funny and kind and very knowledgeable! Another highlight was a shock, the layout! it was so easy to walk through and get lost in each room, everything was organized and easy to look through. I can't say enough how much that helped, I hate feeling like a bull in a china shop so feeling comfortable walking around was a big factor for me. My partner and I purchased our first antique and have our eye on our next purchase here, giving us an excuse to come back to the beautiful little paradise that is Phoenicia. Thank you Mystery Spot! You all helped make our holiday extra special. Hope to see you soon!

Behind the glass, faded photos of dead and forgotten strangers stared back at me like ghosts waiting for a train that's never coming. I was inside just the last week, they had lots of cool vintage stuff. On the porch sat a wooden crate full of old vinyl records labeled "YARD SALE IN A BOX. $1 AN ITEM." A Camelot soundtrack album was sticking out, warped slightly by the sun. Over head hung a red upside-down sign that read "MYSTERY SPOT," right next to cheap plastic slogans about Cypress Gardens and Clutter World. My big, lean hound stood on the porch planks, sniffing around the wood like he was trying to catch the scent of a better decade, or just trying to get inside. It's the kind of joint that hoards the cool junk of a thousand lives vintage clothes, oddities, records, etcetera. Its the kind of place where they don't care if you buy anything, or just browse and they probably don't care if you leave. My dog didn't bark, the door didn't open, and the sun just kept beating down on the boardwalk planks, so we just sat for a bit and split a sandwich.

The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing while you're surrounded by nature. The store is charming and has something for everyone inside. I've only been for lunch both times, but I can't wait to return for dinner for a cocktail on the patio. One of my new favorites for sure.

So glad that we did because we kept going and ended up at Apple Barrel Country Store. We were going to run in and ask for directions but were so charmed by the store, we decided to explore and eventually made our way to the restaurant. It was perfect timing for a late lunch and we requested to be seated outside on their deck overlooking the mountains of our beautiful state. Our server was the sweetest and took great care of us even though they were busy and seemingly short staffed. I ordered the AB combo with a choice of soup and sandwich and both my selections were so good. Corn chowder and Turkey sandwich. The blueberry mint lemonade I had was the perfect accompaniment. We made our way back to the store for some retail therapy and headed home after a lovely afternoon. The blueberry peach pie for dessert at home was so yummy.
