Love this place it's like going back in time and has anything and everything you can imagine if you're in the area it's a must visit !

This is a very adorable tourist shop. They have everything and more. From locally made soaps and fudge to moccasins, semi-precious stones, books, toys, a little something for everyone. There is only one negative I have found after almost a year of visiting this shop: the staff seem to dislike the customers. There is never a smile or a hello. They seem like they'd prefer to be a million miles away than working there. The last time I went, I asked for the staff to get me something from the showcase, I apologized for making her stop what she was doing to get it and she gave me the death glare. Another person noticed and mentioned it to me. I wish I could give it 5 stars but I think management has to improve to have happy workers. read more

I used to come here as a kid. I'm now almost 38. While in the area I of course had to bring my son here. Honestly I wish we spent even more money than we did here. I literally was grabbing everything to buy lol. These small towns, these cute places. I love coming up here. We have such beautiful not too far up north, the Catskills! I'm really hoping to come up yearly and making it a tradition like I had. read more

Such a cute little store with so many different things! They have candy from my childhood that I do not see around anymore. I found the last Lisa Frank activity book on the shelf. They have mini sticker books that I used to collect when I was younger. There are Melissa & Doug sticker pads and stuffed animals. They also have souvenir items related to the Catskills such as pajama pants, mugs, and hoodies. Prices are very decent. You can definitely find something to buy for yourself and as a gift for someone else. We are glad we stopped in! :) read more

A regular stop for us when we're in Phoenicia. There's something for everyone here whether you want a t-shirt, bear claw slippers, dog toys, homemade fudge, a book on local history or a whoopee cushion. Be sure to look upstairs where they have a bunch of used books for sale at $5 a bag. read more

CHeck out her little bookstore, just to the a right as you enter. Better selection than the library down the street. Buy a sweatshirt , T-shirt, book and fudge. Yeh, they have it. This is one of the most comprehensive "country stores" I have ever seen. I make sure to stop by every time I visit Phonecia and this time was no exception. This was one that Katie had to experience first hand. I really wish I had noticed the sign the said "please don't play with toys" because man was that pop gun loud but a lot of fun. We left with locally made fragrant candles, maple sugar candies and some preserves. Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area. read more

Cool Store! Lots of this and that from real maple syrup to homemade fudge and everything in between. We went back a second time for the fudge. Found a map to the Catskills, earrings for a gift, pjs for the wife and candy from the past for the kids. A lot to take see in just one visit go twice see it all. read more

This is one of my favorite "country" stores. The Nest Egg sells EVERYTHING from candy (and home made fudge), to souvenirs, greeting cards, magazines, post cards, toys, camping/fishing equipment, fishing maps, books, fresh fruit/produce, plants, etc...etc...It is a total eclectic mix - and it WORKS. The upstairs has an insane collection of vintage Christmas decorations, cards, bumper stickers (we're talking "Alf" & "Ziggy" here), mugs, etc...etc... If you're visiting Phoenicia, the Nest Egg is a must. So charming and old school. Stores like this have become rarities. read more

On top it is white fudge with Oreo cookie bits,bottom right red velvet and white fudge with milk chocolate shavings, and last but only for today (till I go back for more) is the salted caramel with chocolate fudge. I was in there twice last weekend - once by myself and once with another person. Both times I said hello to the young dark-haired girl that worked there and both times she stared at me and skulked away. The person I was with went up to try to buy some fudge and the girl gave her such a stink eye that she walked away. I saw an ad for this place while trying to do some local gift shopping. This is probably the best Country Store I've been to - they really have a great variety. Their fudge, which we got to sample, was amazing and I got some for my Father for the holidays. I also found a pair of cute pink Catskill Mtn sweat pants as a gift and other candies as well. I also bought a hot pair of sunglasses for $4.50! I would have paid like $15 in Manhattan - what a deal. I'd be back and would come back out of my way to hot this place up again. The fudge was good, but they didn't have maple walnut, and they cut it too big. It should be cut in little bit size cubes, not mammoth 1/4 lb chunks. read more

I have been coming here for as long as I could remember, over 10 years. This is my favorite place to go every time I come up to Phoenicia which is at least once a month. They have so many great gift ideas, the fudge is delicious and just an all around great country store! read more
