Hahahaha ok so normally I would NOT write a review about a police dept, as who wants their name associated in ANY way with the police, right!? BUT, today is different! While picking up my child from school, I noticed 2-3 officers driving around. Didn't think anything of it, as Lodi is pretty quiet, and most officers are known and friendly. As I was walking back to my car, my son said "look mom, the police is giving that lady a ticket"! I looked over, and yep, there was this mother who I barely know personally (but word is she is not mom of the year) getting a ticket! Hahahahahaha priceless, as she is someone who definitely deserves it, and should have received numerous tickets 2 years ago when she was stuffing 3 kids & her own friends into a super tiny car WITH hers on the front seat without a car-seat. So Lodi P.D. you def made my day (not hers though!) and I appreciate you watching out for the kids, who obviously should be cared for more safely by the ones who brought them into this world. Unfortunately some parents have a lax attitude, so if the P.D. has to enforce safety rules, so be it! read more

Just disappointing to see how officers handled the situation with Enzo. The videos clearly show a non aggressive animal be repeatedly tased to a point of death. Please conduct a proper investigation in the 911 call that allegedly described an aggressive animal, as well as the clear mishandling of the situation of the officer and animal control. Worst PD I've ever dealt with, protecting and serving is far from what they do! To make my experience short with this horrendous Police Department I was trying to go this last sunday 07/08/19 to a famous lake in the city of lodi. And While I was driving I entered a line to turn left on W turner rd and N Mills ave, all indicates that the city intentionally installed a tiny light for turning left behind the main light so new drivers to the area like me wont notice it. While I was focusing on the green from the main traffic light and upcoming traffic from the other direction to make a yield left turn I was unable to noticed the tiny safe turning light behind it because again is almost hidden to your eyes if you are new to the area. So as soon as the road was clear I proceeded to turned left. To make the story short a hostile female officer pulled me over and while I was trying to explain her that I didnt see the light to turn left she kept ignoring me and just gave me a ticket for running a red arrow light, while the female was writing the ticket another officer arrived to watch us like we were criminals are you kidding me? This so unfair and unprofessional! these officers doesnt care about citizens they all care is about reaching their daily quotas!!!!! Now thanks to this negligent female officer I have to pay an enormous $500 ticket for an honest mistake that in fact it was provoked by failing to crearly mark/show a signal to make a safe left turn So as you could imagine this incident ruined my family day at the lake which we didnt even visited and decided to go back home When is about collecting money from drivers/citizens this PD is the best doing it, but I bet you when is about protecting the innocent they're always the last to arrived shame on you Lodi Police Department read more

I was recently stranded due to mechanical problems and was blocking the intersection. I was told by my insurance to call the local pd to help move my car. Officer Ramirez ,and another unit, showed up within 5 minutes of my call. While keeping me from getting hit by traffic they expedited the loading of my car onto a flatbed by re directing traffic. Officer Hinton said nobody gets special treatment in Lodi. Well, I had a special chat with officer Hinton on Thursday April 19, 2018. He show up to my trailer only one day after a neighbor told me he was going to call the mayor and the Chief of police on my trailer. Not only did I get a real quick visit from officer Hinton but he issued two tickets on the same day for the same reason. I guess neighbor has a grown in the force or the mayor because he obviously does get special treatments. I happen to believe is a racial issue. Only us, the minority get this kind of treatment, at least on this street we do. I'm not the only one being treated this way by this neighbor, the police and the partners units. They hate victims of rape and domestic abuse. They do nothing to help them and instead will victim shame and leave the scene leaving women with their abusers. My friend had called them to ask some questions about a protection order. The woman who had a thick Hispanic accent proceeded to scream accusations at her. She hung up and when I called to tell the lady this is not what we're going to do right now, she then screamed at me and when I demanded to speak to her supervisor she sent my call to an automated menu that lead to nowhere. I finally got the supervisor's mail box and left a message and I never heard anything from them. Every person needs to be fired and it needs to rebuilt from the ground up or at the very least they need to be brushed up on the law and what they're supposed to be doing.. read more

If there's one group of people that don't care about you in a time of need it's the Lodi PD. Had my car broken into from the driver side window and there was a knife left in my car so I called the police and they said there would be an officer down shortly. After 2 hours of waiting I finally said "can I at least drop the knife off at the station because I don't want a random knife on me." They pretty much said they didn't care and it would take them longer and we would have to fill out more paperwork for coming in to the station. They don't care about keeping weapons off the street and they sure as hell don't care about us read more

They go after the low hanging fruit. Not a a very proactive force when it comes going after after car thieves or burglary suspects even with video evidence. But no problem writing tickets and harassing citizens. It been a hit and miss with this group. They have had some good moments with my son and cut him some slack when they didn't have too and should not have in my opinion. He eventually ran out of get out of jail cards and arrested him for same violation. Just enforce the laws and don't deviate from that. Son was in the wrong put himself and others at risk. I called the Lodi PD to help me conduct a welfare check on a family member I thought was an unsafe situation. The officers I talked to on the phone were very competent and worked with my knowledge of this family member's location I had according to GPS and were able to locate their car. They even searched the area to make sure nothing suspicious was going on. Definitely the most competent police department I have dealt with to issue a welfare check. They didn't treat my concerns as if they were unimportant, like other PDs have before. Thank you for the excellent service! read more

me my mother and five months old sister got pulled over today all because of a lady that almost hit our car just because she wanted to be inconsiderate and almost side sideswipe our car and a couple minutes later 3 cop cars are behind us then when they came up to the window saying my mother was in the wrong and they didn't even call the lady out for being wrong you guys need to step up especially as officers this is ridiculous and unacceptable if you know who is the wrong then why haven't you taken any action towards this lady and her actions and the other cop came up trying to make small talk saying my mother was a road rage and seem like he was implying that our safety is not important terrible service from you 1 officers the only 2 who was calm and understanding was the lady officer and the other officer there but to the one officer your terrible and I hope you take more things seriously and if you get put back on duty hopefully you have a partner cause it seems you don't know how to do your job correctly and I hope they send you back to training so you can learn more and next time don't approach a car with your hand on your gun if you can see that our hands are in your eye sight that is not acceptable read more

I parked my car got out started walking then got harassment by 3 officers. One demanded me to get back in my car which I said NO! Then SGT Winfield decided to not ask me but grab me towards his car for an illegal pat down. I'm sure he didn't like that I knew my rights then demanded I'd give him ID. So I gave him my ID which I shouldn't have because I wasn't driving nor was I breaking the law but did anyway. Long story short SGT Winfield wrote me 6 tickets all but one relating to a motor vehicle stop which never accrued. These officers should be ashamed of themselves writing bogus tickets illegally patting me down and illegally asking for my ID when I didn't break any laws. Total disgrace these are the people protecting our rights? And they wonder why the country is we're it's at today SMH read more

I've never seen a more useless police department. My family was robbed and the perpetrators made off with 3 guns. The officer that arrived at the scene didn't even get out of his patrol car. Fingerprints were left behind and the police have no interest in collecting the prints or any evidence of the crime. They stole other things as well, but having 3 guns on the street is the most concern in our opinion, but apparently of no concern to the Lodi police department. This was months ago and we've never heard anything from the police. Our case was never turned over to a detective and every time we ask for the report, they tell us it isn't done. How many months should that take? Not months, that's for sure. read more

In January 2013, I allegedly "ran a stop sign" at the corner of California and Lockeford streets. This sergeant on a motorbike swooped down on me like I was a major felon. Knowing that resistance is generally useless, I accepted the penalty.... around $234, an outrageous amount, since I am sure I made an effort at stopping. Just like another Yelper said, be sure to come to a full stop, count to five, and then proceed. The cops here are ticket happy. read more

So happy with these guys, I could never thank them enough. All of a sudden I woke up @ 1:20 am to a notification on my phone that all of the cameras went offline and could not connect. I was so frightened that I called the non emergency number and asked if they could send someone out to drive by and check the business for me since I am out of town. The dispatcher gladly sent out some help for me so I wouldn't have make a drive out there to check on my own especially at 1:20am! I am so happy with the Lodi police department! I had my vehicle stolen and filed a report. The officer told me to "bear with them it's been a long time since we had to file one of these" so after waiting nearly 1.5 hours in an empty lobby we got through the paperwork after another 45 minutes. So now I wait. 2 days later they actually found my car. But had no info on it for me. They wouldn't tell me where it was found when it was found if anyone was in it when it was found. The only info that had was it's at Pacific towing. So I contact Pacific towing they tell me it's 450 to get car out of impound. Which I found rediculous. So I went back to the police station to ask about a waiver for victims relief the officer says the fact that your car was stolen is not my problem and the towing company has their fees and police have nothing yo do with the prices they charge. Not their problem that crime is being committed? Are you kidding me? For this I give 1 star way to protect and service your community. read more

I attended the First Annual Lodi Beer fest that was held on June 20th. I ended up meeting up with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the event. Towards the end of the event we decided to walk a couple blocks to a friend's house to have pizza and more beer. Considering that I had a few beers I decided to leave my car on the event fairgrounds in the parking lot. When I returned around 10pm the same evening to get my car and head home I found the gates locked and I was unable to retrieve my car. I hitched a ride home and the next morning again tried to get my car but the gates were still locked. I tried call the fairgrounds business line but the office is closed on the weekends. I ended up making a last ditch effort to rescue my car by calling the Lodi police department. I found them to be very helpful and the watch commander tried calling all the emergency numbers he had to try to help me retrieve my car. Although in the end he was not able to contact anyone, I appreciate that he and his staff took the time to try to help me with my predicament! read more

I had my truck hit the other day and the other driver left the scene,I reported to police and they sent officer Shaw badge # 90 to my house, He tells me it looks like I hit a pole, On my truck so you can clearly see red paint. I ask him where do they have red pole`s in town, He said they are all over town. Well I have been looking for red poles for a week or and i have only found 1 place that has red poles, The old Walmart and they are up by the door `s Most all are yellow and some green or not painted at all, Hey officer Shaw badge # 90 let me know when you find red poles in town. Thur. 18 3;00 parked to go to movies. no signs were posted about a street fair later that night. came out of movies and our truck had been towed. Walked to police station on elm st. approx. 5;30. Officer #56 told my husband to go to Charokee rd to pick up truck.He was sending a 70year old man, a 61 year woman and a 6 year old boy to walk approx. 10 to 12 city blocks to pick up truck. He must have known the tow yard closed at 5;00 but sent us anyway.(we're from out of town had no one to call close by) . The tow yard was not on Charokee but a block over thanks to a kind man to show us where it was. Got to the tow yard which was closed but thank God a worker was just leaving and let us pay 180.00 and get our truck and go home. The officer was a disgrace to the Lodi Police dept. I will tell as many people I can about the rude treatment that was put upon us. read more
