This review is not for the building or security but for the records office where you can get your birth certificate. I went in and a lovely lady assisted me. She was polite and friendly, advised me of the process and so I completed it. After I took everything back up to her, she advised me it would be a quick wait and to have a seat. At the time, I was on disability due to a previous TORN MCL injury, so I could not stand long. Mind you, I even had a minor limp. I was told I could have a seat by the nice representative processing my request. As soon as a I sat down, some guy who was not even ASSISTING me that was behind the glass, told me I needed to stand up and wait for my turn? Despite me already being assisted but everyone else was sitting? Just because one had a child and another was elderly.... why couldn't I sit down? I felt this rep needs a refresher in disability rights and to learn how not to discriminate. Not ALL disabilities can be seen by the naked eye. I am not the type to argue especially in a government/city building so I stood up and when the lady noticed this, she quickly tried to process my request to get me in and out. After a few minutes, I sat back down because of the pain I was feeling in my knee. The man, however, needs an attitude check and a reminder by HR to leave your problems at the door when clocking in to work. If the process is to not sit (which doesn't make sense.... not everyone can stand for long periods to fill out forms oR at the computer) then you should be mindful of that. Have some signs up maybe if that's the policy !

Ok I'm about fed up.. I always get my packages for the most part but since this happened I'm just gonna have them delivered to my PO Box if at all possible. This is bullshit. Last November we were missing some jury duty summons. I get that some missing mail shows up the next day or two or three but nothing. I went to the arch airport window and gave them my info and copy of my informed delivery highlighting the mail pieces. Also at the same time waited for the mailman that day being a different guy that also is a shop steward and had much better demeanor.. gave him the same info. I get no callbacks. Mail service has been on a bitch ass decline prolly since 2023-2024 and counting and it's just getting worse. I'm about to call customer service or just email. Hopefully the next day it won't be the same POS mailman because delivery will be attempted again.

TLDR: You are required to set up appointments for all visits now…read more After attempting to apply online (which didn't work) I happened to be in the area for the DMV so I figured I'd walk over as it's not stated anywhere online that you must have an appointment. When you get there the loud speaker announcement states they have appointments available within 5 days. I almost laughed because it's wildly inaccurate. I'd booked an appointment a few days before for the first one available - almost 3 weeks out. Even if you go by business days, it's not close to being accurate. Currently they'll let you sign in, get a number, wait for 30 minutes, then call your number, and at your window you'll be told to make an appointment and they'll refuse to help you further. It's absolutely bonkers and I've never seen anything like it. After I was told I could wait an additional 3-4 hours for the possibility of speaking with someone, I asked if like the DMV they could text me when someone can speak with me. No. No, they don't do that either. I left. I will say I ended up googling and found a great thread that talked about the different processes people have used to get into their non-working SSA accounts. I tried a few of them and was finally able to log in via IDme on an incognito window so I could download a statement of my account, which solved about half of what I needed. Overall, it was a pretty awful and extremely inefficient experience all around. Definitely would not recommend.

My wife went to talk to the same lady the next day to see if she could change the time of the appointment and Carmen was rude and said what appointment? I'm not going to work the front that day. So my wife drove all the way to Sacramento to get an original birth certificate at her country's consulate and brought it back and another lady(Mrs Fisher) who assisted her, and told my wife she didn't need the originals, that copies were fine just to add a middle initial to the social security card. Mrs Fisher provided much better service and was nice, not rude at all like Carmen. All the unnecessary time, gas, money and frustration and unnecessary rudeness because of an incompetent lady(Carmen) that does not know her job and gives incorrect information. Incredible. Tracy is a city I always pass by when I'm going to the South Bay Area from Sacramento or on my way…read morehome. I didn't usually pay much attention to Tracy many years ago. But they're started catching my attention in recent years. The City of Tracy is quietly building up more and more new buildings on both sides of the freeway near I-205. It has many more businesses opened up in Tracy, and lots more people moved to the area. On the other hand, Tracy still gives me the other side of the county and small village feels. They have many almond farms with hundreds or thousands of almond trees everywhere. The flowers are so beautiful in late February and March. The City of Tracy is still in the process of moving more closely with all its neighboring cities in the Bay Area. They built many new shopping centers in the city. Some are pretty good! Some failed. But shopping malls failed and are becoming the new normal after the pandemic now! I hope the City of Tracy will non-stop improving but still be able to keep their county feels.

I just attended the City of Tracy shredding event to help my parents out with years of old papers,…read moresensitive documents, etc. When we got there, there were several cars in front of us. We got into the line at 12:52pm and the event was until 1pm. 4 cars arrived after us and were also in line. Once we got closer to the trucks, there was an elderly woman who seemed to be taking down people's information. She consulted with another older gentleman and told us it was 1pm, the bins were full so they could no longer accept us. I informed her that we were in the line before 1pm. She just said I'm sorry we can't take you. She was polite enough, but I am disappointed with the city. They turned away the cars after us as well. If you have a hard cutoff of 1pm then you need to CLEARLY state that on the website. It just says 9-1pm so presumably arriving in the line to shred by 1pm would be sufficient. They should have accepted the cars who were in line by 1pm and then put up a roadblock sign announcing that the event is over/closed. Also, the bins are not magically full at exactly 1:00pm. If you have a cutoff time, that's fine but don't tell me at 12:59 the bins aren't full but are at 1:00pm. I will look elsewhere to take care of my document shredding needs and will not recommend people to come to the City of Tracy event unless they arrive early in the morning. I don't blame the workers but I am unhappy with the service as we had arrived by 1pm - the stated time - and I may sound entitled, but how many cars, etc. are in line is not my problem. If I have arrived to the venue by the stated time, I expect to receive the service I am there for.
