Gaaaaaaaaaaaah! Where to begin? Given that we were on the 5th floor, but it was actually ground level. We had a nice view of a parking lot. But thats no so bad right? Well did i mention the windows were broken and then taped together? Or that there was a leaky pipe from the ceiling that leaked our entire 3 days with a huge water damage stain on hardwood so it was at least a month old? Or should I mention the tiny black jumping bugs that lived in the washroom. Looked like fleas and I PRAY that they weren't bed bugs. I have never seen this bug before. When i was a child i was very into Entomology. I know my bugs so unidentifiable is not good!!! Oh and the single lock that was not sturdy. Easily key copied. Or jimmied.... don't ask how i know. Anyways.... theres a fee for everything. I attached a photo. I booked through a hotel app that boasts no airbnbs, no cleaning feea and no residential. Needless to say they are getting a scathing review. I don't recommend for anyone. Fully catfished, room wasn't nothing like photos. Only positive was the AC was solid. read more

I loved this joint. My traveling partner would give it a 3 but I am giving it a 4. We thought we were getting a full kitchenette but we booked through 3rd party and didn't. (That's our fault, not the hotel.) There was a fridge and microwave. That didn't bother me because we were in a perfect location. We were between 2 metro stops with cafes in either direction, and in a fantastic neighborhood. The staff speak French, English, and Spanish. The room was HUGE and super-cute. There was a problem with the coffee maker but when we told them they gave us a new one. Considering we were in an area full of bars and restaurants, the room was very quiet. There is a free washer & dryer. The dryer took forever but even that was no big deal because there is a delicious African restaurant next door and it took 2 minutes to just throw in the laundry and run run over and check on it and run back to eat. I LOVED this place. Also, my travel companion left a few belongings by mistake and they agreed to mail them to us. read more

Had a wonderful Montreal weekend while staying here. The room was exceptionally spacious, and I enjoyed the decor! A light breakfast was included. Tea and coffee were available all day. I will certainly stay here again. Finding the entrance was a little challenging without using google maps. The entrance is 334 Terrasse Saint Denis, which is off Saint Denis between Ontario E and Sherbrook, but from Saint Denis there is no sign indicating a hotel is at the end of this unassuming terrace. They don't allow smoking. read more

Totally obsessed with check-in and out time. Very rude and poor customer service. We came to Montreal for two nights to celebrate a wedding. After a 6 hour drive from Toronto we arrived at 1pm. Check in is at 3pm exactly and no later. Girl at desk sharply said the room was in fact ready, but it's their policy to not allow any checkin until 3pm. So we had to wait for no apparent reason. I've never heard of such a strict policy in my life. 3pm hit and everyone was checking in at the same time. Huge line. 1 person at the desk. So stupid. Then 30 min before check out (11am) I get a phone call from the front desk. All she said was 'remember your check out is in 30 minutes" - no how was your stay? No good morning sir, just a friendly reminder. Awful customer service. Room was huge but had poor lighting, a dirty floor, no shampoo, and lots of little things were off. Example, nowhere to plug a device in by the bed, nowhere to hang clothes, 1 garbage for bathroom and living area, no iron..etc..etc.. All in all, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!! I would have been happier at a super 8 motel. The Loft hotel needs to learn their manners and change some stupid policies. Honestly, one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. I booked the urbaine loft room expecting a smaller room, but when I walked in....OMG it was awesome! The room was literally 750 or 800 sq ft. It was great to have a microwave and full size fridge, along with the king bed (which was comfy) and windows along one side of the walls top to bottom. There weren't any screens on the windows, so watch out for that! Once we found the hotel (it was a bit tricky since its located down a small obscure street), checking in was easy and the staff were super helpful. I checked in at 6pm with no issues. Due to a raging hangover, I called the front desk in the morning for a later check out and they allowed it with no problems too :) The hotel indoor parking ($20 a night) was located around the back side of the building. The parking attendant only worked til 5pm, so there's not really any in/out privileges, but Montreal is a great walkable city with a metro system that can get you anywhere. Continental Breakfast is included- I didn't get a chance to try it out, but its good to know it was available. If you're a neat freak like me its worthy to note that the room was really clean... believe me I checked (I'm that crazy person that rips apart the bed and inspects the sheets, towels, etc. before I take my jacket off or unpack). This is an older building, so you have to check out the old freight elevator, I found it pretty cool. read more

This is easily the most unique hotel I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. We visited in November 2011 just as Loft was getting off the ground and had an incredible time. We were actually in town for a party hosted by a client also at Loft so had the opportunity to spend time in all the amazing meeting areas as well. Such beautiful spaces, if I was a local looking for a wedding venue, this would be my front runner. The rooftop lounge area is stunning, loved the open feel of the rooms, every part of the hotel has such a fine attention to detail - I really can't say enough good things about this place. Also enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast and found the service to be friendly and efficient. Can't wait to come back!! read more

I have never felt so unwelcome at a hotel in my life. We had booked a 4 night stay through the hotel's website 5 months in advance for the Montreal Jazzfest. We arrived in Montreal just after midnight on account of unexpected flash flooding in New York and a slow border crossing. We circled the neighborhood via Rue St. Denis twice and then called the hotel to ask for directions. The clerk who answered the phone was very dodgy. Instead of offering directions, he attempted to dissuade us from coming to the hotel by indicating that all the rooms were full, that he believed the street was closed, he didn't have our reservation, etc. When we finally reached the hotel we were advised that despite our conformed reservation, there were no rooms available. After a litany of excuses and stories from the clerk about why it wasn't the hotel's fault that no room was available, and the clerk encouraging us to look elsewhere, we were stationed in suite #600, a banquet hall which happened to have a bed in the back. The hall hosted a bachelorette party 2 hours earlier and we had to spend another hour wrangling hotel staff to remove the overflowing trash cans, dirty table linens and towels, and to obtain a roll of toilet paper and some Lysol wipes. At the end of it all, party debris remained on the unswept floor and dirty dishes remained in the sink. All the while the hotel staff continued to act like they were doing us a favor. I finally fell asleep without showering because I was exhausted and afraid to touch anything in the room. The next morning, an hour and a half after visiting the front desk, where the staff again acted like they were doing us a favor, we were checked into an actual room. (They needed the banquet hall back for the wedding). It's a shame that the first 10 hours at the hotel were so abysmal, because the rest of the experience was relatively pleasant. The hotel is a converted warehouse building with loft rooms that are uniquely appointed. It has a stylized freight elevator that takes guests from floor to floor. The rooms have dining tables, full kitchens, and living room spaces. The room was quiet and clean but had gaps in the floorboards and ants. Housekeeping staff were pleasant and attentive. Breakfast is a basic croissant and coffee and not worth getting out of bed for. I would seriously think twice about staying at Le Loft Hotel again because management is so offensive and unprofessional. If you can't rely on a hotel to honor your confirmed reservation, the rest doesn't matter. But for the fact that comparable hotels were either sold out or $50-100 more per night, I wouldn't have stayed beyond the first night. read more

We completely enjoyed our stay in Montreal! The Loft Hotel is in a great location, with lots of shops, cafes and bars within easy walking distance. It's also only about a 20 minute walk to the downtown area. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again for sure. read more

I thought that the rooms would be to the expectations of the pictures, it was my bad I know, but there's a limit. I was not satisfied with what I had and the costumer service kept telling me it was my fault and that I had to deal with the fact that if you rent a room at Loft Hotel, they can't guarantee you if you're gonna have a terrible room or a really nice room for the same price. It's kind of a really bad lottery without consent. The manager is not available on site and you can't call her. You can only email her and will answer you after 2 days that you left. This hotel was much more than we expected! The room was VERY large and well appointed. No carpets which means no allergens for me. Hard would floors, soft colors and quiet made for a restful stay. Walking distance to great restaurants and the staff were very accommodating. We would definately stay here again. read more

At reception I was greeted with bad attitude, I asked for late check out it wasn't put on file, I was being called at 11am to leave. 1 hour after checking in we get a knock on the door. Asking us not to smoke..... We don't even smoke I believe the room next door was having a party.... How convenient...But they came knocking on my door.... Instead of calling or checking first... I found that really unprofessional. And finally I left my phone on the bed because I felt rushed to leave the room. I called the hole back 5 minutes after realizing I didn't have my phone. The hotel itself is a 4/5, but the service is really a 2/5 at most. The parking attendants were not the nicest to deal with and the parking lot itselfs was tiny and had very tight spaces (+$20/night). The customer service was pretty rude and indifferent about everything except the check in/out times. We stayed here for 3 nights total, moving rooms after the first night. This hotel is very unique and the decorations are artsy and interesting. The elevator is something that you have to try if you stay here. Our first room was so lovely but it turned out to be a noisey room due to the amount of pipes surrounding it. We requested to be moved into a different room for the next two nights. The second room was just as lovely, but unfortunately the sink had plumbing issues due to previous guests throwing floss down the drain, causing it to drain slowly and at times back up (so gross). We weren't able to move rooms again- we went from a noisey room to a room without a properly functioning sink drain. All this being said, I'd come back again just for the hotel itself- I'll brace myself for the wretched service. read more

If you are looking for a funky space in a colourful neighbourhood you will like this hotel. If you are looking for a hotel experience involving any level of service and/or life-made-easier, this is not your place. The unit was large and spacious with enough space to host a huge party. The kitchen would have been useful had some necessities been supplied, such as coffee or a corkscrew. There is no phone, hence no way to contact the front desk. The units were all advertised as having king sized beds, which was a factor in our booking this place. Our bed was a queen, and didn't have a fitted sheet, so any minimal tossing and turning resulted in a big mess. No iron or ironing board. Not enough pillows. You're on your own in terms of getting your luggage to your room and parking your car. Parking fees are high. This place has potential but needs to get a grasp on the concept of service. read more

Favorite place to stay in Montreal. Enormous rooms. Very elegant. Great neighborhood for good cheap food. Breakfast is small : coffee and pastries and outlets for charging phones and computers is a bit of an issue. I usually bring an extension cord. read more

Modern. Beautiful. Amazing. Went to Montreal for Labor Day weekend with my boyfriend and another couple. Having looked at a lot of places on-line, and after reading reviews of all of them, settled on this hotel - the reviews, which you can find on booking.com are spot on. The hotel is not really finished yet - there are a ton of little punch-list items that need to be finished (ie. patches on the walls that were spackled but not yet painted,etc.), but overall, the experience was great. We were upgraded from an 800 SF loft to a 1,200 SF loft with two king sized (delicious) beds. One was behind french doors, while the other was behind curtains. There was an enormous living room / dining room / kitchen space with a fully equipped kitchen (although the dishes / glasses were a bit mix and match in order to have 4 of everything). The hotel's reception rooms are gorgeous - the general manager and owner were nice enough to take me on a tour of the hotel, where they showed me the reception rooms along with a bunch of the other hotel rooms. It seems the concept will be that everything is for sale - so if you like the furniture or art in your room, you can just order it. I loved this hotel, especially for the price and would highly recommend it, with the caveat that it's not a 5-star experience. The staff are incredible, the rooms great, there are just little nit-picky things that need to be taken care of. All-in-all, it was a great experience and I would love to go back. read more

Found a long curly hair on the motel 6 quality bath towels. The floor must not have been vacuumed, because there was hair all over the loft. The sheets don't fit the bed (there is no fitted sheet), so it can't be properly made. The kitchen chandelier doesn't work. The curtains have stains on them and they don't close all the way. This place has the illusion of a nice loft, but it fails to deliver on close inspection. Definitely NOT worth the price. Stay elsewhere. read more

2.33 stars The rate was great ($115.) for a big 'ol room, nicely appointed (#607) Was told upon check in that there were no parties allowed, and I commented that I had heard (on Yelp) that they were popular for that, and she said they're trying to cut it down. Not knowing that there was an EVENT center on the 5th floor, complete with a DJ (that apparently the front desk couldn't hear from the 4th fl - lobby), I was surprised to wake up at 2 in the morning from the thumpthumpthump of music vibrating the floor. This disturbance was complimented with lots of people opening and [slamming] doors...a male/female argument...and the building heat that overly warms the flat... Nice staff. Clean. Walkable. The place itself is not bad - the problem is if you stay here during the weekend you will be subjected to club level loudness and obnoxious screaming guests until 2:00 or 3:00am. I have stayed here a few weeks and have complained a number of times about the ridiculous levels of noise and been told that "events" are allowed to have noise until 3:00am. Having threatened to call the police, I was told that they would not do anything as the noise is authorized by the management. Personally I will not stay here again. read more

Staying in the Loft Hotel during a vacation in Montreal was ideal. The "room" was unbelievably spacious (larger than our NYC apartment!), but moreover beautifully appointed in every detail, and very well laid out. There were two couches, both very comfortable, and several chairs; a full-size dining table; and a well-equipped kitchen. The bed was partially separated from the other areas of the apartment by a wall which extended across about 2/3 of the sleeping area, which produced the feeling of a bedroom without cutting off the bed from the ample light which poured into the room in the morning. Breakfast was good quality if simple - continental style; the croissants were much better than the muffins. Service was warm and friendly in our experience. Terrasse St-Denis is charming, and while some of the immediate area is rather noisy and full of neon signs, the hotel is also quite close to the beautiful Carre St-Louis, and is well located for easy access to other points of interest, via train, bus, or bike. The price is very reasonable relative to the quality; in many cities, one pays the same amount for very basic accommodations. We stayed three nights and were sorry to leave. You should avoid this hotel at ALL COSTS!!!! This hotel tries to be cool, tries to be happening and tries to be avant-garde, but it fails most miserably, unfortunately. I write this at quarter after midnight on my evening with the Loft, after the front desk boy banged on my door to see who was in the room. Across the hall from the room is a loud wedding party, complete with all the requisite cheers, thumping bass lines, and support staff rumbling down the hallway, just like Hitler through France... in the middle of the night. Earlier this afternoon, after we settled in, our door was opened by other "guests", who were sorry to barge in on us. Of course this was suspicious, so we checked our electronic keys and they no longer worked. The youngster at the front desk apologized and gave us new keys... At 23:30 (11:30 PM), the late-night front desk boy banged on our door, as I said earlier, asking who was in the room. I watched through the peep-hole as he tried using a key card to open the door. He wore no uniform, had no name tag or anything to identify that he worked for the hotel, yet demanded to know who was in the room -- RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! He then left, saying he would be back (???). I dressed and went to the front desk and asked for an explanation. I asked his name. I asked for the manager. I asked for the manager's name. I asked for a refund. He would give me nothing, but said I could move to another room (in the middle of the night with lots of luggage). By the way, these rooms have no phones and the silverware was missing from the kitchen. The bathroom door is supposed to have 5 panels of glass, but ours had only the top 4. The bottom glass panel was broken out when we arrived, obviously because the door opens into the toilet. There were holes in the walls around the switch-plates, as the construction crew failed to pay attention to details. Some of the lights in our room did not work - the lights were blown and never replaced. The "black-out" curtains did not cover all the windows, so we had some penetrating beams of light from the city all night. Unlike other hotels, this one uses a good old stack of paper and a single laptop for organization. The laptop is supposed to make the place look super modern, but the stack of paper on the desk is where the action is. The staff has no training in today's Stack-of-Paper Organization technique, nor do they have training in Customer Service. Good luck to you if you stay here. You will most likely get screwed... The worst hotel experience of my life! My boyfriend and i travel a lot due to his line of work, and honestly this is the worst experience we have ever had. We were in town with many other hotels guests (including the bride/groom) for a wedding and all stayed here. Our original room was located in the basement, which was very hard to find, scary, and felt like a dungeon. The room itself had minimal lighting and a damp basement odor. I was very uncomfortable and we could hear noises throughout the room, we notified the front desk of our dissatisfaction with the room and were told we could switch rooms in the morning. My bf ended up getting into an arguement with the staff that next morning as they denied the room switch when he went to get our new keys. After much back and forth they finally agreed to switch our room to one that was not in the basement, but this room had it's own set of issues. The rooms are very big and nicely decorated but that is about all the you get with you stay here. The hotel staff was extremely rude, our new room had broken lightbulbs which they did not fix. Our other friends room did not have a working AC /Heat, the kitchen area of the room is missing basic kitchenware, the dishwasher comes with no dishsoap, and there is no extra toilet paper/towels/blanket/pillow. Every time you use the shower you have to walk to the front desk to get another towel. This hotel is fairly expensive nightly so we thought some accommodations would be able to be made, especially for a group of our size there for such a special occasion, but everyone was very hard to deal with. We realized the bride and groom were also dissatisfied as their suite did not even have closet space for the brides dress or anything else. Another couple also had to be moved due to their room condition as well. The housekeeping is sporatic, one day they came and one day they did not. When asked for them to come clean on the day they missed we were told they went home for the day and it was just the afternoon. It was overall a really horrible experience. All guests that were in town for this wedding that stayed at this hotel had issues, including the bride/groom, it was not just us. We would never recommend this hotel to anyone and ALL left saying how bad of an experience we had and how unhelpful the staff was. Never again! read more

Looks to have all the right ingredients for a cool boutique but hasn't got it together yet. We arrived late evening after a delayed flight and 2 hour immigration line to be told that we had been booked into another hotel due to "a water infiltration" and given the cab fare to get there. That would have been fine if the new hotel was remotely equivalent but it was a depressing 70s era concrete specimen right on the highway. We returned to Loft Hotel who helped us book a nicer hotel but took no responsibility for the higher price required for a last minute reservation elsewhere. 4 hours and 5 cab rides later we got settled into a new hotel which I can recommend - L'Hotel in Old Montreal which is full of great artwork and helpful staff. read more

I was here for a wedding and I have to say that it was one of the most beautiful weddings. I did not stay at the hotel so I can't comment on the service but the hotel was amazing for an event. The ceilings were high, it was downtown loft chic, and had large interesting rooms. read more
