It is always hit or miss at this location. Twice I've ordered items and both times they've dropped the ball. The store is convenient if they have the item but don't put faith that they will complete a task if it is not on the shelf. Also, they always put responsibility back on me to call back or have me follow up with another employee instead of them trying to troubleshoot the situation. Just moved to the neighborhood and this place close has been a huge help. They are right down the street and the staff was supper friendly. The store is pretty big and has 99% of the items I would ever need, so it is really convenient if I don't want to leave the neighborhood. Prices are reasonable too. Love the staff at the Ace Hardware at Logan. I recently came up with a wild idea to build an indoor garden using a wooden wine case. Not only did the Ace staff help me order the lights, timers and pots I needed, but when the products arrived they drilled and cut and nailed everything together for me. I used to enjoy this location. However, recent experience has changed that. Do not come here for any sort of glass cutting. The staff manning that booth was too distracted with a cage of new inventory to notice I was there. The people there did not know that they carried different sizes(widths) or types of glass (they had plexiglass too). I gave them the exact measurements I needed. After about 30 minutes of waiting around, I got the glass--but it was the wrong size and cut inaccurately. The person at the booth also told me inaccurately that the Adams Morgan Ace Hardware does glass cutting as well. I called that location and they referred me back to Logan. read more

I purchased a 2 step ladder 2 weeks ago that ended up sitting in my car, so i decide to return it. First i go to Ace in Takoma Park MD, and they claim they cannot take it, that i must return to DC. I go to Ace on 5th and New York Ave, they too claim i have to return to Logan Hardware/Ace. So I finally get to them on 14th St. So I walk in and explain to Victoria (always ask for her she knows what she's doing) about the return and explain my ordeal, and she's honest and very informative with me, & come to find out the other stores COULD have taken my return. Anyways, Victoria was able to assist me very quickly. Ace Hardware needs more employees like the ones on 14th St!!! read more

If you need something, you should just come directly to the store - calling this store is like calling Comcast, I've done it several times and it's easier to make the 20 minute walk over. Prices are high compared to Home Depot, but reasonable given that they're renting a spot on 14th St in NW DC. Wide selection of odds and ends city-dwellers might need for minor work. read more

These guys are the best! Very generous operating hours during the week (open as early as 7:30am, in case you're an idiot like me who lost his keys and needed to get copies cut before work). Very friendly, professional staff, who are on full-throttle as soon as the store opens. The incredibly friendly woman in the back who cut my keys was especially a pro. I had tried getting copies made at another store (4 tries) and none of the cuts work. She took extra care and precaution, and sent me home with a set of functioning keys.
