My neighbor and myself both received quotes at the same time and because of this Alex gave us a better deal due to a one time job rather than multiple, which was easier on us as well as him. He arrived at the scheduled time he said he would and his crew (including himself) got started right away. They actually worked from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm without stopping, even for a break, and was able to finish everything we had agreed upon. (Removed 4 large red maples, 1 rain tree(located in a tight area between the houses), a large heavy Pindo Palm that literally leaned over my pool. He also included grinding out all of the stumps as well as cleaning out and trimming up my large oak at the front of my property. He and his crew were very professional as well as courteous and did an excellent job. They cleaned up after and blew off the driveway as well. It's nice to find a company that follows through with what they say as well as showing up on time which is a rarity these days. We met Alex, the owner when he drove by our yard and saw us struggling to take down a rotten tree. He gave us such a reasonable quote, we could not say no. It turns out that he's done tree work for several of our friends and they have all had the same great experience. Alex and his crew texts when they're on their way and show up on time. He has all of the equipment of a big tree company without the overhead so he's able to give a very reasonable quote. He's also extremely honest and let us know that several of the trees we had thought to take down were actually healthy and would bloom come spring time. The entire crew was exceedingly polite - not only to me but to each other. There was no swearing and no yelling and no texting on the job. I was happy to see that everyone had hardhats and safety harnesses when necessary. And, there were no cigarette butts laying around at the end of the day which was a pleasant surprise - no one smokes on the job - even better. Alex gives an honest estimate and sticks to it. There are no hidden surprises. I have given his business card out to all of my friends with tree service needs. I would not have hesitate to recommend him for any job. His attention to detail and prices cannot be beat. He and his crew have done an awesome job on each of our projects for an equal incredible price. The crew that came to our house, Josh Joseph and Shawn (sp?), did a phenomenal job trimming the trees. See the pictures attached before and after. We had 11-12 palm trees that needed much trimming. The crew showed up at 9 am... like they said they were going to... ON TIME! They first walked through the yard with us confirming the job (it turns out that we had one additional tree that needed some work). Regardless, they started working right away. They only took a lunch break during the whole day. They worked until the very end around 4:30 pm. We have had a lot of contractors for our home. The good, bad, and ugly (and no-shows). This business is among the top. Price: We called and obtained quotes from several companies in the Jacksonville area. This company's price is about $5-$20 more per tree than the average, which I calculated to about $55-$60 per palm tree. However, the lack of headaches is completely worth it not to mention the time taken off to stay home that day. Also, they honored a coupon that was in the monthly flyer that saved us another $75. So in the end, it was pretty average for the service provided. Clean up: The crew cleaned up the yard nicely and spent some time to make sure all the palm leaves were picked up. Overall: I was satisfied with the services from Above and Beyond Tree folks. Would not hesitate to recommend them to the Yelp community. Great find! Boyd said they could do my job that week. No one showed up that week or the next or even called. I called thme the following week and he said he would be there that week. That was over 2 weeks ago. I called 1 more time and left a message but never received a return call. I have decided to get more estimates after wasting 1 month waiting on Odom's Tree service. They may be good at their profession (I will never know) but what they need is to keep their word of honor and good customer service. It has been more than 1 month since the initial estimate and Odom's Tree Service has yet to contact me. If you pick Odom's, I hope you have better luck.

They cleared out a second tree in the front yard and then removed a huge bush line. They left the area looking cleaned up, and all in all, was a 10 out of 10 job. I've been using Bryan for years. There's a lot of 100+ year old trees on my property and they…read moreusually need attention above the 50-foot level where the canopy is. Oaks, pecans, hickory's, magnolias, and hundreds of azaleas to trim back. I'm picky. Most of the visits to my home have taken more than a day to complete. JEA sent an arborist out (at Bryan's request) one time because the canopies reached over their power lines. Both companies (JEA and First Coast) worked together for a couple of days to clear limbs away from the power lines. I try to wait for the winter months when all the leaves are down. Cheaper for me cause there's usually truckloads of waste to haul off. He's usually spent time walking the property and telling me what he thought ought to be done. He's conscientious about not wanting to kill an old tree that has shade and life left. If diseased, he'll try to shape around it so I can get a few more years out of them. When it's time to take out a bad one, he's done that too. When there's stump grinding involved, for me that's always been a huge tree we had to take down. He's always outsourced someone else that only does stump grinding and told me that's a separate company and I'll have to pay that person. He might have a grinder for little stuff, I don't know. He's never taken down anything little for me. I would recommend this company.
