The motor to the leg power lift broke Jan of this year 2025 and after multiple calls, emails, trips to the store my chair has still not been fixed 6 months later. Stahls blames CCS and CCS will not extend the warranty for the 6 months I've been dealing with a broken $2500 $400 warrantied chair. We aren't in a pandemic and really feel Stahl should be putting the pressure on the warranty company that I paid Stahl the purchase price. My last LaZBoy and no more Stahl. I try to support local businesses but I'm done with them.

Distinctive Home Furnishings is located near Menards, and I hope they're here to stay. After I received my tax refund, I decided to take a look around. My old Flexsteel had popped a spring, and because it was kind of beat up, I thought a new recliner might make a nice treat. They had some BEAUTIFUL floor models, and had catalogs showing almost any variation you could think of if you wanted a different color or material. In some cases, they had less expensive options if you don't have a premium brand budget. After running into some health issues, I had to take a new recliner off my wish list. However, being an authorized Flexsteel dealer, they were able to assist me with the repair of my old recliner. Because Flexsteel offers a lifetime warranty on their springs, I was able to breathe new life into my old recliner, and my back has thanked me! If you have a repair done, just be ready to wait. Those things take time, but totally worth the wait. I'm grateful for their help, and when I have a recliner budget, I'm heading back as fast as I can to get one!

The prices are reasonable for the quality of work. This store is run by a non-profit artist organization, The Pillar Group. There's another similar shop at College Mall in Bloomington, where Victoria's Secret once stood past Target. The art is diverse and has a local and Indiana theme to it. While most jewelry is focused towards women, there are a few pieces of men's gear. It has the feel of a gift shop, and indeed there are greeting cards, and wrapping available for purchases. It's a very wide variety of handmade art, and it's all well-presented. I'm embarrassed how much I've purchased here; the values are pretty good for what I look for. Parking is downtown-crappy, but the store is bright and easy to shop.

My wife was shopping next door inside Tivoli Fashions in the Fountain Square Mall just south of the county courthouse in Bloomington. Since the shopping she was doing had nothing to do with me, I wandered out into the mall and found By Hand Gallery just across the hallway. If you enjoy looking at hand crafted items like wall hangings, ceramics, and small items that can be gifts for either your friends or for yourself. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed any assistance. Even when I explained that I only stopped in to pass time while my wife shopped next door, he said he understood and to feel free to browse and ask questions. I was feeling welcomed, not watched or like I was wasting his time. That's good business. I really enjoyed looking over the items. I don't do a lot of decorating in our home, but I did see things here that I thought would look nice. That was enough to make me stop shopping there, and I have. I refuse to support any business that feels like they have to get involved at that level, especially when it comes to denying women rights. I stopped back in recently because I needed a large sewing needle, and I just did't feel like making another trip somewhere. I was on the east side, and Hobby Lobby was there. The good news is they seem to have more employees available on the floor than they used to. The bad news is that you'll find an employee before you ever find what you're looking for. There are NO aisle markers at all to tell you what's in there. You might do a complete loop of the store and pass by the thing you're trying to find. So - 2 stars for ugly politics and -1 for no aisle signs. It's a craft store. Make some!
