I could review the year he was my Ob-Gyn but I'll try to keep it short-ish. :) #1- Bedside manner is genuine, caring; comforting during each appointment as well as my surgery/delivery and hospital stay. #2- Knowledgeable of and experienced with a rare condition I had during my second pregnancy (the one before I had him) called HELLP Syndrome. He calmed me down on several occasions of nervousness. #3- I specifically asked him to use two other Lompoc doctors I trust for my c-section (Dr. Gusland & Dr. Schlosser) which he happily accepted. Dr. Trujillo was the main doctor, Gusland assisted during the surgery and Schlosser was the Pediatrician. This was the first time the three of them worked together on a c-section...my husband & I call them "The Dream Team". #4- When the anesthesiologist, Dr. Quan (sp?), who was number four of my dream team, was inserting the epidural "tubing" into my back Dr. Trujillo asked the nurse to step aside so he could hold my hands and comfort me. #5- He checked in on me every single day I was in the hospital. He sat with me, hugged me while I was having a hormonal few minutes. Like I said, I could go on and on about how wonderful Dr. Trujillo is. Lompoc is truly lucky to have him!

This made no sense to me, knowing Dr. John as I did, so I was curious and read them. They all have to do with different physician assistants in the office, but nothing to do with Dr. John. I don't think it's fair that people are giving Dr. John a poor rating when they are unhappy with a completely different provider's care. I think he's a great doctor and apparently other people do as well. He has been voted best doctor in North Santa Barbara County several times as has his brother Dr. Bob Okerblom.

After attempting to obtain the results through the office she eventually received from Dignity Health directly. Neither of us were touched by the doctor. He never looked in our ears, nose or throat nor did palpitate the glands in our throat. Not worth the surcharge or the aggravation.

I got a call from "Linda" who was absolutely rude, didn't want to listen and didn't offer any means to help me. When trying to explain my situation I was totally dismissed by her. When I went into the office to make a formal complaint and get my paperwork, "the manager" couldn't really be bothered to step away from what she was doing to listen to my concerns, only expressed an apology, and didn't even bother to help me with the original issue. The procedure was quick and professional, Dr. Barry was very friendly and knowledgeable. Office staff were helpful and prompt. Facilities are quite old (so is office equipment, chairs) and this place appears to have a million patients. Still, I was happy with the service and would return to address minor pediatric issues.

Well I keep having flare ups as I have ulcerative colitis & I decided to call back. This time I have the referral # myself and they had me on hold for almost my whole 15min break. I called back and again they were super rude. I told them I just need to make an appointment and I'm on my break. I asked them to take down my number to call me back and let's see if that happens. Quality of care is overall and includes the way their staff treats you and so far not good at all.
