The Girl who called me Christina was INCREDIBLY RUDE and professional. I called back to Cancel my appointment and she told me if I miss two more appointments that I Cant return to the dental office but reminder it wasn't my fault I wasn't going to be there for my appointment. I was going to reschedule when I get a new dental insurance but I will not be returning. She continued to tell me how she sent information to my phone but I never received it. and she continued to repeat her self with the worst attitude. I filled out a new client paperwork but I have been there before. I will not be Returning and will also not recommend this dental office to family and friends. they need to have people at the front desk that actually wanna help and care for their clients. The front desk staff was welcoming right away and even thanked me for completing my forms ahead of time, which was a nice touch. The dental assistant who took my X-rays (I'm assuming that's what it's called) came out to get me and was super kind and easy to talk to. She explained everything as we went and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. After the imaging, Dr. Hernandez came in and went over everything they found. I honestly don't remember ever having a dentist be that thorough. He took his time, explained things clearly, and made sure I understood what was going on and had all my questions answered. This was just the first visit--they'll do the cleaning and anything else at a follow-up--but overall, everyone there was wonderful. It's hard for me to even say this, but I'm actually looking forward to going back. I told my youngest son and his wife (who are local and looking for a dentist), and they are eager to be seen by Dr. Hernandez and his staff!

I have been terrified of the dentist for some time. Kind of like the car dealership, you have a go-between who talks billing and insurance with you away from the nurse and dentist. It's discrete and comfortable without pressure. My nurse (dental hygienist) was Susan? Or Sandy? God she was an angel. She was so kind to me breaking down and upset and in pain. She made me feel so comfortable talking about stuff and offering anything I might need. My dentist was Dr Taylor who was incredibly knowledgeable and proficient. I got out what needed to come out and I even scheduled an appointment for regular maintenance later this month. I was made comfortable to be there, whether I needed nitrous or a valium, either are available. And they make sure you are physically comfortable with numbing. Mentally comfortable is hard, but true kindness shines through in the folks who work there. I got a kids "reward" (shark plushie) to hold while I had my procedure. When I left I got a "goodie bag" with full instructions on what I had done, extra gauze, and an emergency card. It's a little hinky getting in with the road construction on witchduck road. But soon as your turn on Grayson, by the church, it's there. There's an employee entrance on the witchduck side and another saying Ste 200 on the side, even though the dentist is Ste 100, this is the door you go in.

Well after getting there, they shot an additional x ray free of charge to see what was going on, and then decided I needed a filling instead of a crown- saving me about $500. The honestly coupled with the expertise go a long way. I'll make the drive to this dentist from here on out cause it's worth it.

I went in for a routine cleaning and told them that I was experiencing some discomfort and one of the crowns that I had done a year prior to, and Dr Mollie listen to what I had to say and could've easily told me I needed an expensive root canal or other dental procedure to repair, however, she diagnosed my issues and it was simply something small that she was able to take care of right then right there. It's very seldom in this world to have someone who you can trust make the decisions that are in your best interest and not in their own and that is why I love coming here.

I came here and it was like going to my small home-town dentist office where they knew my name, my parents, and remembered a lot of details about my life at every visit. It is located near the beachfront right off the interstate and near the Virginia Beach Convention Center. It has ample parking in the attached lot though it is a smaller parking lot with about 8 or so spaces - it never seems to be so over crowded that I can't find any parking... it has been close once or twice though... The inside is very very clean with new equipment and cute beach-y furniture and wall decor - surf boards and seashells and such. They sell Sonicare toothbrushes and products and do oral surgeries and tooth whitening here. I have never needed more than a very minor filling that did not require numbing and the doctor (Dr. Heffelfinger mentioned below) has an excellent bedside manner who decided to not numb me and we went very slowly to see if I even needed it for such a superficial filling. It turned out I didn't so he spared me the stress and pain of that for which I greatly appreciated it. Means I didn't drool on myself all night needlessly. Plus he personally called the next day to check on me - something I believe they do with all patients who had a procedure done and which is a real personal touch that you don't find most places anymore. I've had a few hygienists since coming here over the last two years but my favorite was only there temporarily and left - my current - Kimberly - is very nice and works with me because I am a bleeder with sensitive gums and A LOT of plaque build-up every time no matter how much I floss or how expensive my toothbrush is.... she seems to go out of her way not to hurt me and to try to minimize the dreadful experience. Which is nice. She also asks about my life and makes an effort to remember the details. My dentist - Dr. Heffelfinger is a very nice younger doctor with a friendly and funny personality - who happens to have gone to JMU - my alma mater - which makes us instant best friends and means he is automatically a great American to me.... plus he's pretty damn cute so it could be much worse. I still don't really enjoy coming to the dentist - but it's much better than ANY previous experiences I've had and especially in the Virginia Beach area. if you are looking for the small-town dentist feel where they remember your name and some family details every time you go in and don't farm you in and out like cattle, come here. You won't regret it.

I don't know if I was bamboozled or if the initial treatment/cleaning was just so over the top…read morewonderful and they try really hard to make you feel special to endear you here so you keep coming... but it's been downhill from then on. First, the doctors are wonderful and I have no issue with them on our brief interactions during my exams. Since my first visit with Stacey, on my next two follow-up visits she wasn't nearly as nice and even seemed annoyed when I tried to make small talk or ask to get more information on my gums. I eventually went with another hygienist due to scheduling and liked her so I switched entirely and have been seeing someone else the last 3+ visits. Like my previous office, if I have to reschedule at any time - they book out like 8 months so you're screwed. This is why I switched offices initially, who the hell is going to wait 8 months to be seen if they have something come up between the 6 month appointments? That means you're waiting well over a year even for a cleaning. Nope. It's happened multiple times to me here and it is the exact reason I switched offices to begin with. These appointments are booked incredibly far in advance and people have lives - so when you need to reschedule I can understand a few weeks or a month but my Feb 02 appointment being rescheduled for August at the soonest?! Unacceptable. Additionally, the receptionists are rude when you call and try to ask any questions and are condescending. I've been nice when I've called and I'm met with some sort of indifference and talking down to for asking simple questions or trying to explain a situation. I'm again switching offices. I'm out. It started off well but the level of care isn't the same as my initial review. Not by a long shot.
