I admit, I have not been to any dentist in some time. I came here on an emergency visit Tuesday afternoon based on Yelp reviews alone. Yelp was right, this place is stellar. I have been terrified of the dentist for some time. Kind of like the car dealership, you have a go-between who talks billing and insurance with you away from the nurse and dentist. It's discrete and comfortable without pressure. My nurse (dental hygienist) was Susan? Or Sandy? God she was an angel. She was so kind to me breaking down and upset and in pain. She made me feel so comfortable talking about stuff and offering anything I might need. My dentist was Dr Taylor who was incredibly knowledgeable and proficient. I got out what needed to come out and I even scheduled an appointment for regular maintenance later this month. I was made comfortable to be there, whether I needed nitrous or a valium, either are available. And they make sure you are physically comfortable with numbing. Mentally comfortable is hard, but true kindness shines through in the folks who work there. I got a kids "reward" (shark plushie) to hold while I had my procedure. When I left I got a "goodie bag" with full instructions on what I had done, extra gauze, and an emergency card. It's a little hinky getting in with the road construction on witchduck road. But soon as your turn on Grayson, by the church, it's there. There's an employee entrance on the witchduck side and another saying Ste 200 on the side, even though the dentist is Ste 100, this is the door you go in. read more

Dr. Parr and staff are the best! I visited the office because of two infected molars. My dental plan told me that I wasn't covered, but I knew I was treading on thin ice regarding the infection. Dr. Parr removed the molars, and sent my upper plate and lower partial off to be refitted prior to the extractions. I left with the best bite that I've had in decades! Definitely the best dentist that I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot! I highly recommend Dr. Parr, and am grateful for every member of his staff for their compassionate professionalism. read more

Dr. Taylor and the staff is amazing. I came to see The Smile Center with Dr. Scott Parr and I was introduced to his son. I came in for an impacted wisdom tooth that was hurting. I needed to get it removed. I was able to see in less than a week. He was able to removed it and the healing process is going well. What I love about the place is how they pay attention to your comfort and your needs. The staff and very friendly, positive, and passionate to serve their patients. Everyone wants to be there. He explained the treatment process with visuals of my teeth and what needs to be done. They go out of your way to care and help you have a beautiful smile. I was referred to the smile center by my friend many years ago. Initially, I had my own dentist for over 10 years, so I only took my children to see Dr Frey. Dr Frey's warm and caring demeanor was welcomed and appreciated. Within a year, I switched dentists. Now, my husband and ALL 3 of our children see Dr Frey at The Smile Center. Sharetta and Rebecca are wonderful dental hygienists. Theresa helps answer all of my questions about insurance coverage. We are able to communicate via phone and email to confirm, adjust and reschedule appointments. They work tirelessly to hold insurance to their responsibilities regarding billing. I have been to numerous dentists in the past and never had good experience, always experience some kind of pain with every visit. The team at The Smile Center do an amazing job of making you feel welcome and comfortable. Short wait time, clean restrooms, experienced, friendly, respectful and attentive- and I've been helped by both doctors. They are priced fairly for services rendered. Call them to find out about their package ... I forgot the name of it, but for people without dental insurance this package is a bargain! It gives 2 cleanings, the x-rays and I forget the rest. Take it from someone who has an extreme phobia of dentists and a very low tolerance for pain.. this is the best dentist that I have ever experienced in 40+ years!! Due to horrible, frightening experiences with the dentist throughout my childhood, I avoided going to the dentist like the plague! Needless to say, at 45 years old, my teeth were ruined! I knew that I would have to have a complete :makeover" so I did a lot of research. I saw the reviews and made an appointment with the Smile Center in VB. Every single employee, from the receptionist to the dentist was very compassionate and accommodating. Having to go through what I needed is embarrassing enough but none of them made me feel guilty or ashamed! Dr. Parr is so gentle and he will do whatever is needed to ensure you feel no pain! I am very difficult to numb so I was afraid to have the oral surgery (mine was very extensive) because other dentists wouldn't believe me when I told them that I could still feel it and it hurt. But, Dr. Parr really listened! The hygienists (I have seen 3 now) were so friendly and treated me like they had known me forever. I even got a flower each time I left their office! I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and I have called them for adjustments and questions, ect. numerous times and they are never irritated and get me in that day! I have never had to wait and even the hygienists that only saw me for a few minutes make it a point to say "hi" to me and call me by name! Their prices are high but I think they are the "norm". But, regardless...it was worth every penny to have such a wonderful experience at a dentist! I never thought I would put the words "dentist" and "wonderful" in the same sentence but I promise, anyone who goes here will be as thrilled with their visit as I was! I called about my six year old daughter having something stuck in her tooth. I had no clue what it was and we couldn't get it out. Not only did they get me in same day, they told me to head in and they would squeeze her in. We walked in and within 30 seconds of sitting down they brought us back to look at her mouth. The Dr. Parr was less than a minute behind us. We were in and out and in less than 10 minutes. They were patient and kind and my daughter was treated with nothing but friendly smiles.
