This morning, we were looking for a restaurant to have a quick bite to eat and drink decent coffee. Walking in, we were seated immediately at these comfortable lounge chairs at London's Pride; we ordered the full English breakfast and the healthy English breakfast. The poached eggs turned out just right, and we both truly enjoyed their lovely texture. The smashed avocado in the healthy breakfast was so indulgent that it's going to stay on my mind for quite a while. My partner really loved his breakfast and finished the whole dish in no time. We wanted to get a bite to eat since we got through security fairly quickly and still had some time to kill. My son was on a mission to find some fish and chips. We've been to quite a few on this trip, and they were all meh. This place looks like a pub with picture frames on the wall, brick and tile interior and a Christmas tree made of empty wine glasses. The tandoori chicken with naan was pretty tasty with their umami and yogurt sauce. And of course, my son finally hit a jackpot with the fish and chips. It was crispy and flavorful. They had a sauce on the side which was really nice (gave some Indian vibes) as well as a homemade tartar sauce which was really delicious. Cheeseburger was ok (but if you are going to a London pub, you should be getting fish and chips). My kids loves their sausage and chips, and cheeseburger and chips. Not too bad for the airport. They have a bunch of vegan options, including a plant-based English breakfast (£17.90) that's available all day. I got that and it came out in about 15 minutes. The dish comes with: tofu scramble, some weird sort of vegan fried thing they called plant-based sausage, spinach, tomato, portobello, baked beans, bread, and hash browns. The tofu scramble was decently seasoned. Everything else was pretty standard -- no surprises other than the weird "sausage". Decent beer selection and refreshingly excellent service. This made it the poor server's duty to tell customers that what they wanted was not available, making it impossible to meet already meager expectations. Normally I generally don't drink beer first thing in the morning, except for when I happen to be flying halfway around the world, and then pretty much anything goes because as far as I'm concerned the time of day really is irrelevant at that particular point. Anyway, I really wasn't all that impressed with this pub, which is basically an airport pub. The reason being is that I suspect that they overcharged me for the beer. The food is awful. How do you hold your head up when you can't serve a proper fish and chips? I grew up on this stuff and coming home has always been a plate of fish and chips or a full English. I walked in here on my way to Vienna and had 3 hours to kill, so, Guinness and lunch. This place SMELLS OF FISH. And it's not the smell of fresh fried fish either. It's the kind of smell that makes you think, "Uh...I should probably leave." The beers are good but I think maybe the day we came the lines needed to be cleaned or something because both the fish and the Guinness smelled off. Service was also abysmal, that is, when it was present. The only plus side to this experience was the hostess. Very friendly and warm in greeting. After paying the bill, I had to change my clothes because the stench of old seafood had permeated into my jacket and scarf. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't tolerate it, but this was more out of courtesy for the others on the plane. Airport courtesy isn't entirely dead. Not yet. I will not be coming again. There are other options, and with a long enough layover, there's plenty of time to patron another business. Fly safe and be considerate of those around you, and for god sake, shower and put on clean clothes before you fly. Carry deodorant in your carry on if you have to and for fk sake avoid dousing yourself in napalm because nobody else but you wants to breathe that shit in for the next 13 hours. Sorry. Off topic. The Queen's Terminal has a number of eateries and seating areas; London's Pride is one of the closest options on the top level after the security check. Most of the restaurants are equipped with outlets to charge your devices, and this place was no different. There are a few desk-like spots near the bar, but I was seated at a small table on the edge (good for people watching). I wasn't too hungry but wanted to put something in my stomach before the flight, so I ordered a cider and chips. The chips were all right, service okay as well. I was sent to the front to process my payment, though. Toilets are available elsewhere in the terminal, but bags are not to be left unattended unless you have companions. read more

This was a solid choice. My mother and I stopped by during a delay at the airport. I ordered the fish and chips and she ordered the entree containing chickpea. We split a bottle of prosecco which was delicious and reasonably priced. The fish and chips was basic but pretty good. Per m mother's report, the chickpea was not the best and lacked flavor. Ehh, this place is fine for what it is. I had a seven hour layover with my friend in terminal 2 and we were looking around for a place to grab some food and a drink. We decided to stop in here after walking around a bit. It's a fine spot. The employees are kind, they have beer, and the food is decent. My friend and I both ordered the Royale Benedict which is with salmon rather than ham. It was okay. The egg wasn't runny and the English muffin was pretty hard and tough. But it's airport food so you can't expect too much. They do serve beer so there's that! And it has a cute ambiance and decor. Nah. Came here for the last breakfast experience and ordered the English breakfast while my sister got the ham and cheese croissant. We both ordered tea, which the guy said tea for two and poured us a cup each from the same pot. The eggs were straight up orange, which I thought okay, I can deal with this. A sort of makey-uppy olde-stylie pub in the middle of the new terminal 2 - it doesn't look awful, it just doesn't look quite right. leaving aside the aesthetics, the place is a great little restaurant (sadly I didn't get to sample the beer) serving some good (and very fast) food. Alright so this airport pub is sort of difficult to review, as when compared to any actual pub you'd find on the streets of London (or any other British city) it's resoundingly mediocre. However, when you consider it's in an airport, and grading on a curve of what you typically expect out of an airport restaurant, it's fabulous. Whenever I'm flying out of London I always stop here to get a last-minute fix of British food before heading back home. Service can be spotty at times, so if you're in a rush just make sure you tell your server that up front and they'll speed everything along.
