I had the wild mushroom poached egg toast which was simply outstanding. I also had the tomato basil soup which was very good. My husband had the Cajun chicken on a bun with fries. It was very good. The fries were extra tasty. We had Stoke's Ketchup for the first time and liked that as well. There is seating inside and out. We opted for inside since the front seating is on a busy road. I really wanted to like this place, but there was just one blunder after another. We arrived on a Wednesday night at 7:30 PM. They had one server and she told us that she was the only one working that night and because of that and a shortage in kitchen staff that there was an hour wait for food and that we might want to consider going somewhere else. We elected to stay and put in a drink order. 20 minutes later she came back to take our food order, but no drinks were brought back. We eventually got our drinks and then 40 minutes later she came back and said that they lost our food order and we'd have to re-order if we wanted to eat there. I would've bailed at this point, but my guests agreed to put in their order again, so an hour later we finally received our food. I was not planning on dining at 10 PM. Overall, food was good (I had their meat pie). The place looks and feels like the quintessential English pub. Unfortunately, it was a pretty disastrous dining experience due to a lack of staff. read more

We loved our meal at the White Hart. They had some delicious gluten-free vegan options, including a Thai curry, and our son really enjoyed his kid's meal. The hot chips were out of this world, especially with a bit of hot English mustard. We also enjoyed sitting outside, during the tail end of summer. And if that wasn't enough, the pub is even said to be haunted! If we lived in the area, this would absolutely be our local. read more

Whenever I have a morning flight out of Heathrow, I always stay at an airport hotel but I have never ventured out to try a pub in the area but on this last occasion, some friends who live not far from Heathrow, picked me up and went to The White Hart, right down the road from my hotel. This is a great traditional 200 year old pub bursting with character and enchanting atmosphere with a menu to satisfy any palate and of course a full bar to accommodate those that suffer from thirst. For my lite evening snack, I ordered the Salmon Wellington that came with mashed potatoes and greens with a creamy white wine sauce and a ginger beer. Aidan and his family had lived in Austin, TX for 5 years and he ordered the Slow cooked smoked BBQ ribs. This definitely will not be my last visit to The White Hart as I must return to try those BBQ ribs and accompany it with a beverage with authority. read more

Came for a Sunday roast right before heading to the airport. Their Sunday roast is typically available at 2:30pm but I explained my situation and they were able to serve the full Sunday roast by 11:30am, which we really appreciated! I got the mixed plate, which included pork, beef, and chicken. Overall, I'm glad I tried the Sunday roast. The gravy and potatoes complimented the dish well but was not a fan of the vegetables because it was a bitter and the pork was a little bit dry. read more

Didn't have their food, but the bartender is super nice and knows how to pour a proper pint. Very knowledgeable about cask beers as well and showed me how they finish out the last 20% of the fermentation process. He even gave me a glass pint to keep after talking with him for a little bit. They have traditional food such as fish and chips, which are quite tasty, but they also have some other options on the menu that are nonstandard fare for pubs (eg, the salt-and-pepper squid, which is also very tasty). Love the ambiance and the decor. Plenty of parking spaces. Great for a low-key hangout with family or friends. They accept contactless payments, which is so handy and quick! The service was exceptional. The server knew the menu intimately, and promoted the Sunday roasts. I had the roasted chicken which was huge for a VERY reasonable price, and was DELICIOUS!!! My wife had fish and chips which was also huge, and also DELICIOUS!!! The ambiance was a VERY comfortable pub, which we absolutely loved! Staying at an airport hotel on Bath road and wanted a traditional British pub for a Sunday Roast. Found the White Hart and decide to try it since the write-up said it was over two hundred years old. They must be doing something right to stay in business that long. Ordered the traditional Sunday Roast. Great mixture of foods and taste; the giant Yorkshire pudding was crisp and good; probably the best Yorkshire pudding I have ever had (hence the five stars). Dessert, shared by two people after eating the mains, was the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, which tasted more like chocolate sponge cake, but was still excellent. Staff were friendly and provided quick service. And, also called a taxi for us to get back to the hotel. All in all, a great and memorable experience. We hope to come back again! read more

We were told to check out The White Hart by the restaurants staff and were very grateful for the recommendation! We were in the search for traditional British food and we were very happy with what The White Hart had to offer. We had the fish and chips, the steak and ale pie and both were delicious. The atmosphere was so cozy and warm, and the staff is so friendly. We are so grateful for their kindness and delicious food. Food looked great -- tasted BLAND. I tried the famous Fish & Chips. No flavor at all, so I added a touch of juice from the 1 bit of sliced lemon. No help. I drizzled some of the vinegar. No help. I dipped a little in Tatar Sauce -- finally some flavor began to pop. Unfortunately, that only brought enough Tatar sauce for 2-3 dips. I asked for more (3x). The chips (fried potatoes) weren't much better. A little soggy in the middle & tasteless. Ketchup improved Them, but again, only enough is provided for 3-4 fries. Had to truest more (3x).
