Most important was the traditional service that we are accustomed to from our upbringing... secondly but maybe more of why we feel a part of this congregation is the people and the warm fellowship we receive there. They also have Shepherd King Preschool, which is licensed by the State of Michigan and meets in the academic wing towards the back of the church, where they have a Faith and Play-based curriculum, a low student/teacher ratio and very reasonable rates for the term. I cant believe you don't have anybody to clean up after a game, the football field bleachers are…read morejust filthy.Trash everywhere used cups and food left on the bleachers, used water bottles just tossed on the grass, papers, napkins everywhere, garbage. I cant understand why you don't clean up afterwards, I was walking around the track on 09/02/2017 and I went to walk somewhere else, because even the track is dirty. This is disgusting. Just to let the district know they aren't cleaning up after the games.

My child and I both love it; from the, teachers, upper staff, helping staff, the students, etc... Crescent sets your scholars up for success. Let me brag a little about a special teacher, Mrs. Norwood-Harris. She's amazing, I could not have asked for a better teacher. She cares for her students and not just there for a paycheck. She goes above and beyond! Thank you all for what you do :)

Enrolling at Crescent Academy was an overwhelming experience. Definitely a culture shock going from…read morea class of 15 to several classes with 20+ students in each classroom. The first graders have their own trailer with over 6 classrooms, just for 1st graders. I thought this was great for children to develop social skills and building relationships with other students. Crescent Academy offers extracurricular activities to include girl's scouts, boy scouts, music, soccer, etc. In addition to activities, they also offer academic assistance for students that may be falling below their academic level. I gather from staff's involvement with the programs they offer, they really care. As it relates to the staff building relationships with the parents, I do see an effort being made since the last time I wrote my review. My daughter participated in the girls scout program, she was a daisy. She had so much fun and there were so many events, trips and meetings to keep the girls just as engaged. She will definitely be participating next year as a brownie. Overall, I feel confident in the academic program Crescent Academy offers. We are looking forward to next year.

Should I not tell you that I work at the facility and somehow influences my opinion? Too late, so…read moreI'm bias and I admit it. However, I don't think it makes a difference. If you like the service you receive and from the perspective of a parent and not an employee, well then I'm a very happy customer. I'm very lucky and excited to have such an amazing place and teachers for my child. I'm always amazed by the creativity of the curriculum and the excitement, expertise, and patience of the teachers. I see what the kids did that day from singing and reading to science class and am shocked for that age. Another important factor is the diversity of the student body. I'm so very glad to see that the kids get to learn and play with each other from many different cultural backgrounds. Ultimately the most important factor here is the faculty. They are amazing with children and am 100% confident that my child is safe and am amazed by what they learn each day.

I was horrified to watch a teacher yell at innocent children. I was swimming with my kids at the…read morepool when the teacher brought her class. She was splitting her attention between playing on her smart phone and yelling at different kids. I called the director to tell her what I saw, and no one ever returned my call. I have since seen the offender continue to yell. I am so disappointed as considered sending my child here. I hope that the school does something, as my kids are now frightened to even swim at the JCC because of the yelling teacher.
