So I love tomball campus. When I first started I was hesitant because.. well.. it's tomball. But I've had nothing but great experiences, memories and gain so much more than my education. I developed a place of hearth. I highly recommend them. Though one thing I will say is. Financial aid sucks most of the time. I had to be constantly on their ass. Not one year did I catch a break. The advisers aren't the best. There's one or two who actually help you. The others just really tell you what you yourself can find at a computer there. They never seemed brushed up on the degrees like they should. But hey, I did get aid and I figured most things on my own. Just wish they had better people appointed to those guns. read more

Lonestar College system is great yet some of the employees should be checked on if you are in the CNA or any CE Program. The "Director" Katia V. is extremely unprofessional. (Talking, Texting on her phone during a meeting with my Father Myself Also with her Boss, While smirking Discussing my medical history out loud, which I may add is illegal. Once again Speaking to Myself and My Father in the lobby in front of other students. It is truly unprofessional. A lot of the courses this college system has you take, will not end up transferring to another university. It will cause you to restart a lot of classes and will ultimately set you back. If you can, go anywhere else, it will save you not only time but money too. This was by far the biggest and worst mistake I have made in my college time. Daughter submitted app in June for Fall enrollment, 1) They mispelled her name entering it into the system placing a 3 week hold, went in to resolve, told us to come in the next week bc only part timers working 2) Spoke with a counselor who had two degrees on the wall, Told her she had to take the TSIA entrance exam, we scheduled it a week out (earliest available), found out the day she went to take it that she was exempt, did receive refund of $20, but was sent to cashier, cashier sent to testing center, testing center took our info but had to talk to manager, we had to follow up. 3) Spoke four times with financial aide to confirm her application, two verified with us they were only waiting for the name change hold, we went in the next week after the hold was taken off and found out the app wasn't fully completed. Ridiculous school, with no sense of reliability, communication, or community whatsoever. Campus is deserted half the time, and whoever they have working the front desk in advising is rude and disrespectful. Would not choose this campus compared to any lonestar campus whatsoever. The student Engagement program is a scam as well, as well as the honors program. I will compliment whoever is usually in the Trio room, as he is very friendly and such. The campus is one of my favorites. I have taken classes/been to the Montgomery campus, North Harris campus, Creekside campus, Cypress campus, and University Park campus. The people at Tomball are what makes it feel like a community. I highly recommend taking classes here. I have taken some of my favorite classes here with amazing, knowledgeable professors. There are plenty of free resources as well, such as free tutoring, textbooks, therapy/counselors, and a student food pantry. Assessment center is a joke. I've been there twice now because every other place is too far. Both times the lady at the front desk had told me I can't bring materials for the test until I ask for her supervised and the supervisor explains that I can but, only after forty-five minutes of arguing with her superior. Today I tried to schedule an exam to be taken. I wasn't surprised when I asked the lady if the exam had arrived yet and she hung up on me. read more

Lone Star College system has several campuses. Tomball is the worst. While completing my associates degree I took a few classes at this campus and each one was more disappointing than the next. I now have a bachelors and decided to go back for a certification recently. Before the semester started I attempted to speak with a Tomball advisor. After waiting over 30 minutes to speak to him I was told to use an advising/registration computer and figure out how to register as a returning student in their new, very confusing, system. When I explained I needed help with it he again, obviously clueless himself, said to figure it out. Angry and frustrated I left. I went to another campus and found a nonadvisor staff member who was able to help. A few weeks later I returned again to Tomball. This time a female advisor stated I needed to contact the department of my degree. There was no directions on who I needed to speak to or where the office was located for that matter. I also needed a form to fill out for my particular request and had to remind the advisor that she needed to give it to me so I could find the unknown persons office and hand it to them! In conclusion, the so called all in one One Stop registration/advising that Lone Star advertises does not exist. It never has. The advisors are not trained and don't care. The departments are clueless as to what other departments are doing and who does what. The website is trash because information is not updated on a regular basis and old information isn't removed. The new all in one online system created for staff and students isn't much better. Lone Star College is nothing more than a cheap way to earn core class credits for students attending a 4 year university. If you have questions be prepared to either not get an answer, get the wrong answer, or take several attempts to resolve. read more

Worst college experience inside and out. If you manage to advance past the need for clueless advising staff, you deserve an automatic associates degree. It is extremely normal for advising to either ignore and/or blow you off; if not give you wrong information all together, but also aggressively blame you for their own confusion. As if the advising staff wasn't enough headache, before you even step foot in the class room; be prepared for most of the instructors to be just as bad. Senior instructors seem to be the most proficient to not care at all. In comparison with the advising staff, you can tell by the senior instructors behavior that nothing has changed in terms of policies, attitude or communication. They all follow suit. If you do great, "good for you" if you do bad "oh well". It's almost like the only reason they are there is as a personal time filler. Best waste of your time and money. They accept no fault, or make any new change for the better. I can (and have done) do better working for Walmart.
