The fence failed inspection because it was not installed in compliance with code. We have spent more than six months trying to resolve these issues directly with the company. Despite repeated requests, they have refused to correct the problems, forcing us to hire and pay another fencing company to bring the fence into legal compliance. They also installed a gate that swings the wrong direction and failed to install the required self-closing hardware on the walk-through gate for our pool fence. Our experience has been frustrating and expensive. We expected a safe, code-compliant installation but instead were left with significant safety and code violations that another contractor had to correct. Some brickwork is cracked around suspended arches and cornerstone decorative pieces (e.g. above garage doors) but obviously has been for decades. I specifically called Cornerstone because I wanted a serious contractor who does actual poured footings, not that stacked cylinder mess that could actually crack your foundation worse as they use your house for the jack leverage. Dave was on time, courteous and (given that our appointment was in the middle of the Viral Apocalypse) understanding that I was working from home instead of 'off' for the day of our appointment. We spoke for a bit, he outlined everything well and asked pertinent questions about my reasons for calling, then got down to work inspecting...and recommended no work be done at this time. I offered to pay a service charge but he said that wasn't necessary. We did follow up on the phone briefly (I was busy when he was finished) and I am strongly considering coming back to them for some drainage improvements here and there as precautionary measures. They installed a door upside down, and it was damaged to the point that it had to be replaced, resulting in a complete loss of the materials. The estimate was also significantly inaccurate. The amount quoted for four different items ended up covering only one item and roughly a quarter of the work on another. On top of that, the timeline was far from what was promised. I was told the job would take less than a day, but that estimate wasn't even close. Between the poor workmanship, inaccurate pricing, and unrealistic timeline, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not use this company again and cannot recommend them to others.

Long version: Scenario - It's a freezing (sub 40 degree) day in North Texas and I'm out of town on a business trip with my wife, son and mother-in-law at our home in Flower Mound. Wife calls and says the heater is not kicking on. She calls an HVAC company who comes by checks the heater in the attic and says, the unit is working however there is a pipe that vents through the roof of the attic that seems clogged or bent, but they don't do those type of repairs and she would need to call a roof company. Frantically, I scour Yelp for a good review and find people glowing about Bret's service and I give him a call. It's late in the day on Friday and when I explain the scenario, he immediately sprung into action and helped us resolve the issue. I'm going to highlight multiple reasons why Bret, owner of Texas Pride Roofing and Fencing will always have my business for roof and fence needs for as long as I live in the DFW metroplex. 1. Promptness - When I called Bret although it was later in the day, he was willing to head to our home and check out the situation, getting to our home in a couple of hours due to the severity of the situation. 2. Honesty - He took photos of the situation and gave a fair assessment of the situation. In this instance he said, "I don't have all of the parts that I need now but I can get you up an running for today, and then come back next week after I'm able to get the parts when I can get to a supply shop" 3.
