Joel bragged about how he was very experienced with the glass doors and he had hung several in Alto. When he installed the garage door I was impressed but when he installed the dining room one it was not the high lift that I wanted. Even the insulation sprayer told him that's not what we wanted. His response was "that's as high as it's going to go". When I saw it I called Joel and I asked if he could come over and fix the door and make it open closer to the ceiling he told me that he could not and that that's as high as will go. I told him that's not what I ordered and that that's not what we agreed on. He told me I should have ordered a bigger door if that's what I wanted. I asked him why this is the first I'm hearing of this and he brushed me off. I got a second opinion from Koehler door and he said he could install the door the way I wanted but it would cost me $400. So instead of telling Joel to come get his door we spent the money. When we asked Joel for a $400 rebate to fix what he said couldn't be done, his response was that he would not be coming back to install the motors. VERY unprofessional! I know most people won't read this entire review but I think I'm getting my $400 out of it. I gave Joel 2 opportunities to make this right and he chose not to. He obviously doesn't care if his customers are happy. Please call Bob at Koehler door. He's super smart and would have been a lot cheaper if I would have ordered from him.

I'm buying a house in La Luz and the Home Inspector said that we needed to get a roofing contractor to look at the roof, especially since there is some wrinkles in the covering (flat - built-up roof), and because the roof was replaced two years earlier by the owner (not using a contractor). I used Clint Hicks because he has an adequate web site and there were not any negative reviews on him from the many review sites out there. I didn't find any positive reviews on any roofers in the Alamogordo area from any web sites. I was able to get Clint to come out to the property after normal working hours on a day's notice. Not only did he not charge me for an estimate, he told me that we only need minor work done that we can do ourselves. PLUS - he provided a detailed explanation on how to do the work and what material to use. Honest contractors are so hard to find. Thank goodness that my spin of the roulette wheel landed on Clint Hicks. When I do need a new roof, he will be my first call for an estimate. Of course, since I don't need a new roof, I can't tell you how good a job he does or how reasonable his rates are. I hope to see more reviews here covering those issues when I do need a new roof in ~8 years.
