Not all the stores are open yet. I'd say about 30% of the storefronts are ready for business. Other merchants are still remodeling and putting on the final touches. Be mindful of that and realize there will be some construction debris around. read more

Jay birds chicken sandwich always hits the spot and their Mac & Cheese is soooooo addictive!! Their fries are seasoned nicely as well. While waiting for your food, there's a little beer bar at one end of the hanger. So if your a beer person, they have a variety of canned IPAs that are always rotated. They also have beer on tap, but due to COVID, you are required to buy a hotdog and a bag of chips for a few bucks. read more

Long Beach Exchange is the new outdoor shopping center that opened last month, in Douglas Park. An official grand opening will not take place until later this year, in September. Long Beach Exchange is now home to Whole Foods 365 Grocery (food eateries inside include Groundwork Coffee & Yellow Fever), Nordstrom Rack, Ulta, TJ Maxx, Petsmart and Orchard Supply. There are also some eateries here that includes MOD Pizza, Dunkin Donuts and the future home to In N Out. There are also a handful of fitness studios opening up here (Orange theory Fitness, FritCycle, Ra Yoga) and T Mobile recently settled in. The Hanger, an open dining area that will house 14 food eateries and boutique retailers will be opening in September. Here you will find some food vendors that include Portola Coffee, Bite Mi (Banh Mi sandwiches & teas), Amora Y Tacos, Popbar and Black Sheep so that you can grab a bite to eat. All that is missing is a brewery or a place to sell some craft beer. Long Beach Exchange is a nice addition to this part of Long Beach. I love the modern look of the buildings/ shopping center. There is plenty of parking and very well spread out (encourages walking). Being that LBX is still new, there are still plenty of empty spaces just waiting for new businesses to open up shop. I came to this outdoor mall with my husband and our dog over the weekend. I think all that is missing are poop bag dispensers (we weren't the only ones shopping with their 4 legged friend), music (would be nice for there to be outdoor speakers to play music while you walk between stores) and free WiFi. This is the newest shopping and eatery compound in the area. It used to be an old warehouse and bunch of other aeronautical buildings, which is payed homage to at the hanger like center where a bunch of small food stalls are. There's lots being offered here for pets, groceries and restaurants. Dunkin Donuts is also here along with silverlake ramen and a few other local well known like amory tacos and the kroft. There's also a bar and a coffee spot on opposite ends of the hanger. I'm assuming that since its so close to LB Airport, this is geared for those that are staying nearby or have some time to explore but don't want to go out too far from airport. I've already been here a few times and I'm sure I'll be coming back in the future. read more

The building is a great representation of all the hangers that used to be on that land back when McDonnell Douglas was around. Any Long Beach native could easily get nostalgic about the great history this area has. Fun spot to relax, have a beer and food with some great people. Great place to come when the group can't decide on a single place to eat at similar concept to Anaheim packing district, but there are less stores packed into the main building. There are other businesses within walking distance, so if you need to sober up from your bottomless mimosas at 908, you can just shop in the TJ Maxx/Ulta/NR area! Love it here read more

In n out Food is great, but late night don't park in the parking lot, To count you change or eat your fries before driving off. We were met by the nastiest security guard ever. Approached our car and proceeded to try to give us a ticket. Said he told us the parking lot was closed. Which he never did, never said anything to us until this garbage about wanting to give us a ticket. Will never never stop at an In n out again, so rude. This man was off his rocker. I'm so happy to have a place like this open up so close to home. This area was just an empty land for a very long time. So it's exciting as a resident to see such an addition come. Arrived to the location and its beautiful! Love the environment and the restaurant inside. Parking is a bit tight and WiFi is needed because signals are weak! This place reminded me of the Anaheim packing district. Similar concept, but this place is bigger and also have more sittings (outside and inside) and parking is free and easy! We came by to check it out and tried a few vendors and they were pretty good and price might be a little higher than a regular store, but not too much higher. read more

I like this location. There seems to be a bigger amount of food places compared to actual stores and shopping. If you come here to go shopping, avoid coming during lunch hours because the parking lot gets filled up. I usually try to park over by the orchard supply building and walk in to the areas I want to shop to avoid the crowded parking areas and questionable drivers. This whole area is crawling with millennials and tons of people here taking pictures of everything, especially if you venture into the Hangar area where the food places are. Just be aware of who is around and where phone cameras are being pointed because you may end up on someone's social media page! read more

I've been to LBX Exchange many times and enjoy my visit every time. This place is so versatile as it is family-friendly, great for groups, or perfect for a date night. There are so many drink, food, and dessert options to choose from with plenty of seating inside or outside on either side of the building. During my last visit, I noticed they put up a Christmas tree which makes a visit there even nicer during the upcoming holidays. There is never a problem finding parking. Reviews suck SusieCakes? Not the best reviews Whole Foods 365? Terrible reviews. The hangar? So far a lot of the restaurants are sub-par. Customer service can be better.. Best thing is probably Dunkin Donuts, and the In & Out. I feel like a lot of stores were put out of random. It would be great to have some iconic rising shops there. Whether it would be (these are EXAMPLES) a slidecar donuts, EMC Seafood, Milk dessert, some rising pizza place with beer. Think of how 2nd street has NICKS, and Saint & Second. Again, local restaurants that are on the rise/appealing. Not these random stores that we already have access to in multiple locations. Anyway, my 2 cents. read more

I've been coming to LB airport for several years now picking up and dropping off friends and family, always coming in from the 405 and heading back the same way. I had heard of LBX for a few months, so on this visit to the airport, we decided to check it out. They've done a good job of filling in the stores here and on the new Hangar food court. We spent time at the Nordstrom Rack and walked around various other shops, walking into the restaurants to get the feel for next time, and ended up at The Hangar. There are still vacancies, so I imagine it will be filling up soon. On this Sunday afternoon, there was plenty of parking and it felt low-stress here. read more
