Go for the cherry blossoms and magnolias to beat the crowds! The lot is pay to park, but $1.45 for one hour. Very dog friendly and you can watch the planes taking off. Beautiful park I discovered from some instagram posts to go see the cherry blossoms there; informed that it was a less crowded area to see the beauty of spring. The first time I went was at nighttime, so I remember feeling the cool breeze, it was so refreshing. The shadow of the deep moonlight and the city lights reflecting on the water. Planes landing. As a newly minted mother of two, I have found myself in the life stage where I have serious opinions about parks and Long Bridge Park in National Landing is clearly a winner. Here's why: + TONS of parking + Beautifully manicured soccer fields (or places for your kid to run wild) as long as the eye can see + An up close view of all the airplanes leaving National Airport + Nice trail to get your wiggles out + SHADED playground that basically looks like it is straight out of a Teletubbies episode. My newborn, preschooler and I came to visit on one of the hottest days of the year and spent at least two hours on the playground which included holes to explore and hills to climb. + Interactive water feature to keep you cool on hot summer days There is not too many food options around but I know that will change soon with Amazon moving into the area. If you are looking to get a coffee recharge, I'd recommend stopping by at Commonwealth Joes. read more

This park is awesome, awesome, awesome, It has a small playground area and three soccer fields. There is also a scenic lookout where you can see planes on their final approach at DCA. You can also watch trains go by too. The park is home to the Marymount University soccer team. The highlight of the park is the long walking/running trail that runs along the train track and water. The trail is paved and well maintained. I loved it. It also has lighting, however, I do not know how good it is though because I was there during the day. Part of the trail is closed off due to construction. The park is having an Aquatics & Fitness Center added and going through an expansion. The expansion looks close to being done and is slated to open early Summer 2021. The park is about 30 acres and there are three playground areas, one for ages 2-5, one for kids 5-12 and an interactive fog area. The playground equipment is not you traditional type of equipment like swings and see-saws. It is more exotic. There is a huge parking lot with metered parking Monday-Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. Other times and holidays parking is free. This is a nice park to workout, run, walk or anything in between. I saw people of all ages getting their workout in all over the park. There was also some dog walking as well. If you are a runner or walker this is one of a few decent places to run safely. I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

This is my favorite spot in National Landing. The bridge is an awesome place to walk by yourself, with your dog, or in a group. The view is cool as you can see DCA and the Washington Monument. There is a lot of grass to have a picnic or hang out. Cool and modern playgrounds are available for children. There is a big aquatic center with low priced fitness classes and pools. You can also use outdoor workout equipment for free outside of the aquatic center. National Landing will also host events throughout the year at Long Bridge Park including free coffee and concerts. read more

Long Bridge Park is located in Crystal City and offers sweeping views of DC and particularly the Washington monument. There is ample parking in the lot. There are two large areas of soccer fields and beyond those is the play area. It's separated into 2-5 and 5-12 areas connected by an interactive fog area. I'm not sure if it's currently working because I couldn't figure out how to activate it. The 5-12 area is a series of rubber mats connected to wood beams that offers multiple climbing opportunities. The 2-5 area features a slide, a tunnel through the "mountain ", a spinning ball you can go in, and a few random metal pieces you can climb on or walk through. I saw many people utilizing the trail that is elevated and runs along the train tracks. It's a perfect place to enjoy a sunny afternoon. read more

Long Bridge is a great place to escape the 9 to 5 for a few minutes during work hours. The esplanade is a part of 30 acres of recreation and open space. On my stroll I can see the playing fields, the Potomac River, and to the right Roaches Run Waterfowl Sanctuary. There are sitting areas and little mini trees that have been planted along the stretch. Lots of fresh air in this no-smoking zone. People also walk through with their dogs, although this is not a dog park (with plastic baggie stations). Other nice sites- the classic CSX trains passing through, planes taking off from Reagan Airport, and lots of beautiful birds. read more

Once you find your way through the construction, you park in a lot below the level of the gorgeous fields. Pay for parking, go up the steps, play soccer on synthetic flat soccer fields, leaving friends/family/pets to hang out in the surrounding walking paths that border the wildlife sanctuary and railroad tracks. When they get bored with all that, they can watch the construction workers who have been digging up the street for... about 2 years. No end in sight. If you didn't pay for your parking, chances are good that you'll be ticketed when you get back. Also, your friends, family, and pets will have sun stroke (or be soaking wet depending on the weather) as there is no shelter for them anywhere to be found. read more

Great park and walking area in the Crystal City, VA area - fantastic place to get out of the office and grab some fresh air, or if you want to go for a run at lunchtime instead of hitting the gym. Kept very clean and useable, and other patrons are friendly and polite. This is an excellent place to hang around... on weekends. The parking is free here on weekends, and its right near everything. It's super close to Ronald Reagan Airport, that you can really see the planes taking off and landing and its roughly 2 miles away from Gravelly Point, another park in the Arlington area. It's also right on top of CSX's RF&P sub, so you've got plenty of train action too (and if you go during the week you also get the VRE). It is a very clean park, and the police keep it that way. I was driving back when I saw a police car hiding in the shrubs (they look for people speeding through the park), but it is also a bit of a pain to try and find good parking. Lots of traps, and the streets are slightly narrow. Yes, it's near the Crystal City metro stop, but this is rough findings, really. I also found a tough time finding water fountains, which can be problematic on hot days. Do they allow people to come into the soccer pitches to do that? But I recommend coming out here for a jog, a walk, a railfan outing, or just to watch some planes, its so beautiful! read more

New in late 2011/early 2012. Nice place to take a lunch time stroll if you live or work nearby in Crystal City. Wide, smooth walking paths that crisscross the park with steps and ramps to make your stroll as long or short and energetic as you want. Not enough? There are numerous ball fields in the park and while there is usually a game or two going, there are often two or three people on a field just practicing on playing a little one-on-one. The playing fields have the high-tech turf that looks like grass, but isn't; the rest of the park is grass and flowering plants. If you don't live or work nearby, grab metro to Crystal City and walk that last 1/4 mile - on weekdays (during the day) it's all pay-to-park and crowded by those of us just trying to park to work. I've never been in on the weekends, but if there are a few games going, I'm betting it crowded. Another reason the grab metro? The road that runs along the park is a mess from the ongoing new construction and there's little hope that will change anytime soon. On the plus side, the run-down, abandoned motel and warehouses are gone and the new (finished) buildings are attractive and well maintained so it's a pleasant stroll, not a spooky one. There's no playground for the kiddies, so if you looking for that kind of park you need to head a few blocks west over towards Pentagon City. read more

Came here with the fam today to play some soccer. They have a couple of really big soccer fields and also a little playground area in the front. The grass is fake so they don't let you put chairs on it which is a bit annoying if you're trying to watch a game up close. They have bathrooms and they were pretty clean. Parking can be an issue depending on when you go. I believe on the weekends it's free but it's all street parking unless you want to go pay at a garage. Overall, the park is really nice and I would go back. read more

Nice place to take a stroll on a sunny day. You see DCA close by, and have a great view of the Washington monument. There are 3 soccer fields and plenty of parking. As the name indicates, there is a long bridge which is great for doing sprints. At the end of the bridge, there is a place where you could loop around and go up a little hill. Beautiful recreation area and park. You can see the Potomac as you walk along a cement esplanade.

You've got to pay to park before 5pm during the week and the road to get here is bumpy, filled with potholes and choked with construction vehicles. That aside, this is an immaculate new park that will eventually boast a state of the art swimming center. A major plus for me is that it's located right next to CSX's RF&P line, which is heavily traveled by Amtrak, CSX and VRE. So yes, there's plenty of opportunities for railfanning here, but the location of the esplanade means that you'll have to wait until later in the day for your trains to not be backlit by the sun. Runway 15 of National Airport is also right in line with the park, so you have ample view of planes taking off; No, it's not Gravelly Point and 15 is infrequently used only by smaller planes, but it's a nice spot nonetheless. The rest of the park is a veritable brag list of how the county is transforming an old industrial brownfield into a demonstration in cutting edge ecology. Or something like that. In any event, despite being tucked into an out-of-the-way corner of Crystal City and still currently under construction, this is a fine urban park. read more

Can't believe how nice this park is! Not sure how long this park has been here but I have been around long enough to remember when this area was just weeds and vacant lots for the towing companies. In what appears to be one of Arlington's newer parks, you will find 2-3 soccer fields with ample green space (could not tell if it was turf or grass) for chillin out or letting the dog run around. And I'm not talking about that grass with burn spots or holes dug out from dead grass here and there. The green space is immaculate. There is a long sidewalk that runs parallel to a new loft apartment building on one side and the river on the other. DCA is right on the other side of the river so you'll see your share of planes too. Best yet, as you walk farther in, you can see the monument! read more

Gotta love this place. 3 HUGE fields for soccer / football or any other field sport. Synthetic grass, well maintained. They have both full size goals for soccer and smaller sized ones for smaller games. Each field has the option of playing the full pitch, or 2 smaller pitches, meaning you could potentially play 6 games on 3 fields, which is great. Lines are all painted clearly and the quality of the nets / pitch is pretty solid. Also a nice (and heated) bathroom set on the far side of the field which is a great service Arlington County provides. The parking is more than ample. Only bad thing is its hard to find, and the roads to get there are super confusing (and really rough on the tires). Hope they continue to develop this spot because its great for soccer and football. read more

I love Long Bridge Park, especially the walkway near Crystal / Pentagon City. It's such a beautiful place to walk at night. It's both well-lit and highly frequented, so it feels quite safe (though I still wouldn't walk it alone and prefer company). I love the man-made structures and benches. I also love the view this park affords of DC across the river - you can see the monuments quite well on a clear night, especially if you go to an area of the walkway that is not obstructed by trees. This park reminded me a lot of the Highline in NYC. It's a fun, man-made walkway with great views of the city. I haven't been to the park itself during the day, but I saw that there are several sports offerings and the fields are lit up so people played during the evening as well. read more

Lots of Stairs if you want to incorporate them into a brisk walk/run/stair climbing workout. Very nicely maintained park. Interesting historical facts are marked along the pathways. Very happy to take advantage of this park. Clean, property lit and safe park within walking distance of Crystal City/Pentagon Mall. I've never had a problem with parking here but the construction can make driving here a bit of a pain. Plenty of things to do, seating and great views of the city. read more
