As someone with aging knees, I am someone who can appreciate a playground with recycled tire flooring. The extra bounce in my step really makes the whole experience more enjoyable. Mosaic Park is a brand, spanking new play area in the Ballston area. Parking is easy to find and it's location right across the street from Super Pollo means that if the breeze hits just right you are blessed with a perfumed blast of roasted chicken. It's absolutely sensational! While I was a fan of the chicken scented air and soft floors, my daughter really loved the multiple hills to run up and down. There are some small obstacle courses, climbing wall, a big kid playground, a little kid playground, and a few merry-go-rounds as well. There are a lot of benches and chairs to sit and chat with a friend plus a grass turf field -- perfect for throwing a football around. We had so much fun we surprisingly stayed for several hours!

Ummmm, okay Arlington County -- I mean you already kind of ruled the roost in terms of boss playgrounds, and then you had to go and outdo even yourself?! Mosaic Park in Arlington (not to be confused with Mosaic District in Merrifield) is located near Ballston and is a totally unique, amazing, super fun spot for kids and adults like!! The entire playground is made out of that awesome squishy rubber stuff, but it's not just used as flooring, they've built mountains and molehills for kids to zoom around on - making it an even more unique space than it already is! There's a large rock wall, rope climber, and soccer field as well to appease older kids, but the play structures with slides and stuff are actually pretty perfect for the younger kiddos, which as the mama of a 1 and 3.5 year old, I appreciate immensely. There is a small dedicated parking strip as well as street parking all around the large playground area, and benches lining the edges. I can see how the lack of shade might possibly be an issue in the hotter months, but for a spot to get outside to when it's chilly, it's pretty perfect. Just bundle up your babies and let 'em go! I hear there will be even more stuff added to this already very impressive playground, and I can't wait to see what else they come up with. Mosaic park is definitely being added to our regular playground rotation!!

It's a great part to relax in. Bring kids or bring the kid in you. Hot on sunny days but that's what the water is for

There's a small parking lot in the front and trails that lead to an actual recreation center, fields and a playground that doubles as a splash park in the summer. My four-year-old daughter loved the playground. It's modeled after an Indigenous American village along the Potomac River with slides, etc. For being in a wealthy neighborhood, it's a little run down, but still a lot of fun. If you like quirky art, take the small dirt path to the right when facing the parking lot. Walk a few yards to a small opening in the forest to find the "Glass Forest" with art hanging on the trees. It's a little creepy, but also quirky!

There were lots around but no one was telling their kid to not throw pieces of the ground at people. My son was excited about the slide....until he was trampled while going down it by 4 kids (at least 8 years old so they should know better anyways) running up the slide. This hasn't ever been an issue before since caretakers are usually at least sort of watching their kids but nope not here. Overall the equipment was boring and the playground way beyond capacity, particularly during these times. Not a fan, won't be back.

After swimming during their "family time," we will definitely be back. Here's why. 1) Admission: Run by Arlington Parks and Rec, admission is required for everyone. It's slightly cheaper for Arlington residents. Our friends who went right when family time started paid $25 as D.C. residents. We got their with only two hours left and weren't charged anything. 2) Pools: One side has lap pools for adults and lessons. The other side has a large pool, lazy river, little kid space, and water slide for families. The water was clean and the lazy river was fun. Upstairs is a gym and an outdoor terrace bleeding into Long Bridge Park with views of National Airport and Washington, D.C. 4) Parking: With such a large parking lot, you can usually find a space. I really liked the instructor Ann who led my C2 class. She led us through basic yoga flows and also showed us how to do more challenging poses. I appreciated the personal feedback on my form. Yoga Sculpt classes seem to be the most popular at CorePower because it's HIIT style with weights, and it resembled some of the pilates classes I've done before. For traditional yoga, I really enjoyed C2 and Core Restore! The 2pm Core Restore class in Clarendon location is also free. I found both of them very meditative. The facility in Ballston is also very nice. There's 2 rooms (with around 20-30? available slots) and a nice changing area with showers and products you can use. I really enjoyed my experience with Corepower and will be back! FYI when you start the one week trial, you get 7 full days to take classes, starting from your 1st class, but if you're having issues with access to book online (it only lets you book a week out from the current day), I called CorePower. Their support number is very helpful!

I recently attended one of the free Community C1 classes and had a wonderful time. Billy, the instructor, fostered a safe and comfortable environment that made me less nervous about being so new to yoga.
