just now I Have been…read moredealing with J's for a good 5 or 6 years now and have always had great products and customer service to match their top tier prices. About a month ago I purchased a truckload of what I expected to be high quality top soil to spread under the freshly cut Sod from Reid Family Sod Farm in freehold. I watered the sod accordingly. After the first week the sod started turning brown. I did alot of research that told me everything I was doing was correct. This is high quality Kentucky blue grass and should have been ready for the 1st cut after 3 weeks, it was not. The sod was dying. It's now a month later and not understand why my lawn should be rooted by now so I lifted a piece only to find the cause of the problem was that the topsoil was tainted with so much mulch nothing would root through it. I scraped the bottom of the sheet of sod and filled a bucket with the material that I removed from the sod. I brought it to J's, showed it to the boss with whom I've had a great relationship with since we started doing business and asked him what was in the bucket. He answered very quickly, "mulch". I then went on to explain that instead of delivering the high quality topsoil I ordered, bought and paid for that I got this instead. We agreed that mulch is meant to stop root growth and that my sod was beyond repair. When I asked him to simply split the cost of remedying the situation he flat out refused and offered nothing more than new topsoil. I of course was extremely frustrated and highly disappointed. Unfortunately now I have to get estimates and take him to court over this unfortunate situation. What I was asking for was beyond reasonable considering the money and hard work I put into this lawn. Needless to say I would steer clear of this overpriced place that offers zero customer service. I feel badly having to write this but in my good conscience I feel the public should know.

The interior of the shop is full of beautiful, lush plants of all different kinds. Many are tropical which are grown in Florida while others are grown locally in New Jersey. They are from individual small businesses rather than big box companies which tend to use chalky soil and poorer quality materials that lead to a worse quality plant. The attention to detail is important for happy and healthy plants! I drove in from work about 20 minutes before the shop closed and didn't want to be a bother while the shop owner was closing, but Gabby was so friendly and happy to chat through closing while she helped me pick out some plants to take home. She could easily identify all of the plants I might like to try as a new plant mom, sharing tips and tricks for keeping them healthy and the types of soil I might need for house plants vs gardening. I walked away with two cute new plants and so much helpful gardening info! As I was primarily looking at the small plants, I saw they ranged from around $17ish to mid $20 range. There are also a lot of plant hobby goods for sale like books, decor, and soil. Tiny Greenhouse also has a bunch of social events during the month like candlemaking, sound baths, pizza & herb gardening, and ceramics! I'm so excited to return for an event and most likely pick up another plant!

Plants were installed that…read moreattract bees, and when I raised the concern I was met with a condescending response asking if I had specifically requested "no bees," which felt dismissive and unprofessional. The owner often responded with a smirk and a condescending tone when questions were asked, which made communication feel disrespectful and unhelpful. A worker also filmed me during the interaction, which was unprofessional and intrusive. My hose was unnecessarily removed from the spigot during the job without asking, causing damage to the connector that had to be replaced. Scheduling was also poorly handled--I called in April and was told planting after Mother's Day would be fine, but the work was delayed and not completed until almost summer. Overall, due to poor communication, lack of professionalism, property handling issues, delays, and high pricing, I would strongly not recommend this company.

We went to this Home Depot this morning- We were very…read moreimpressed as soon as we walked in a greeter asked if we needed help- she directed us to where we needed to go/ We found our items in the garden department-then went to pay- one cashier helped us and my husband showed her our coupons- she informed us that Home Depot only takes their store coupons- She proceeded to ring us up and called over another associate- they both proceeded to spend time and gave us discounts that were similar to our coupons- the cashier Lidia and the associate went above and beyond customer service!!! We will definitely go back to this store!!!

Lunch at Tulip Tree Cafe is always a treat…read more The gift shop was a disappointing experience today. We are frequent shoppers and as usual we were ready to purchase 2 of the same clothing items. Noticed however different prices on each. We said we would purchase both for the same (lower by $10) price. The woman (not Penny) said ok. When it came time to pay for our items she said "no". She didnt even honor the 1 at the $10 lower price. Needless to say, we left and did not buy the clothing. They lost a $200 sale by not honoring the amount on the tag and not honoring a price adjustment on the other item. This is terrible customer service.
