Lunch at Tulip Tree Cafe is always a treat. The gift shop was a disappointing experience today. We are frequent shoppers and as usual we were ready to purchase 2 of the same clothing items. Noticed however different prices on each. We said we would purchase both for the same (lower by $10) price. The woman (not Penny) said ok. When it came time to pay for our items she said "no". She didnt even honor the 1 at the $10 lower price. Needless to say, we left and did not buy the clothing. They lost a $200 sale by not honoring the amount on the tag and not honoring a price adjustment on the other item. This is terrible customer service. read more

Adorable garden center with gorgeous and inspiring flowering containers. The staff outside were friendly and offered advice on my plant choices. The gift shop had many choices that were unique and tempting. Will like to visit again when in the area. read more

Came here for the recent Halloween farmer's market and it was so much fun! So many cool vendors selling handmade crafts i simply could NOT resist! The Band Palm performed which was awesome, and there were a good number of food options as well. The best part was definitely the cool variety of items sold by independent artists (and also the pickle station) and the VIBES of this cozy, spooky festival-- but the grounds themselves are also gorgeous! read more

We went to Calgo Gardens with 45 ladies. We were part of our own potting flowers program and then a private tour of the gardens to learn about the different flowers and vegetables they grow. Afterwards we had a delicious, fresh lunch. The sandwiches were very tasty and well prepared. Our servers were on the spot for our needs. The Tulip Tree Cafe was very clean and the decor was appropriately done to represent the gardens. I highly recommend taking a trip there to see for yourself. We then headed into The Barn, that is decorated with delightful artisan-made gifts for your home, garden and personal self. read more

Charming and Inviting Calgo gardens is worth a afternoon exploring it's seemingly haphazard collection of plants,pots,lawn art and assorted curios. The several green houses and potting shed all seem to have a theme with the succulents being my favorite,There is also a restaurant,yoga studio and shop selling a collection of hand made art pieces and crafts so a well rounded venue for your garden needs. Service is top notch but laid back with no pressure and prices refelect the unique selection of plants and garden ware. read more

FREEHOLD: Brie had such a fun time at the Calgo Gardens Fall Art in the Garden event! There were so many local and crafty vendors selling their goods and it was enjoyable to walk around! The grounds are gorgeous and there's a cute gift shop. Dogs are allowed inside and outside and it's a peaceful place to take a stroll and buy something for your garden. read more

First stop at Calgo Gardens was a walk around and see the outdoor plants. The plants look healthy and they were average prices. We had lunch at the tulip tree Café. It was delicious. We always get the Waldorf chicken salad. We split the sandwich and get an extra side Always delicious We love the macaroni salad as a side. It has fresh vegetables, sliced tomatoes, and it's just great The only thing is, they didn't refill our iced tea. Then went into the shop. There are so many beautiful artistic items in there for sale great place to get a special gift for a person or event. Always happy to go to this garden will be back when they have their event where there's other vendors there too. That's always a lot of fun in the summer. read more

I love local businesses! We were told about this place by a local florist also in Howell. The property is cute and had a great selection of flowers. I bought my mother a pink iris here! We even got a tour of the aquaponic garden. It was truly spectacular to see what they did back there! Calgo gardens offers a lot but they were a little bit disorganized. Not in terms of actual physical disorganization, but we were looking to buy mushrooms and no one seemed to know if any were for sale that day or if the person who was in charge of that sector was even there that day. Aside from that, I really liked the place. They have everything from flowers, to produce, to garden statues (which get quite pricey) to a gift shop as well as a yoga/cafe. I'm going to try the place again one day, as it's only about ten minutes from my house, which I never knew! Hidden treasure! read more

We completed work on our back yard over a 2 year period. The first year they did exemplary work. The second year was mediocre and I can't get them to come back and fix the problems. The landscaping itself is beautiful. The hardscaping and drainage is a real problem. Around my pool pavers are sinking. I don't just mean a little- one paver has slipped down 4 inches. They can't tell me they dug down 18 inches and compacted the dirt etc if that is happening. I am on a slab and when we get down pours water is coming into my house. If you are afraid you might have drainage issues either into your basement, crawl space or home, I suggest you hire an expert in this area prior to starting your work with Calgo. Also be sure to get in writing that they will come back and fix any issues you are having. I was told they would, but now they are avoiding my phone calls. read more

I stopped by Calgo Gargens to ask for advice in starting a vegetable garden. The staff was so friendly compared to other nurseries I've been to. I especially enjoyed chatting with Perry, who couldn't be more helpful (she reminded me a little of my niece, very polite, warm, and straightforward). I left with a tray of beautiful red sage, onion plants, and a couple of starter plants Perry added to the tray for free! read more

Calgo Gardens claim they guarantee their work...THEY DON'T. Make sure you do your research before you spend your hard earned money with this business. From the arrogant owners, right down to the incompetent staff this will be one of the worse experiences you will have with any company. The owners and staff are very charming at first. However once the job is done and you have issues or questions they will disregard & disrespect you in hopes you and the problems go away or ignore you all together. These are not nice people. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars to have our hardscape done by Calgo Gardens around our property and it now has to all be ripped out, redone and repaired because it was never installed properly. At this point we have no choice but seek legal action against them. Please, please...at all cost do not use Calgo Gardens. Find another reputable company to do business with. read more

Went for a retirement party and the food was superb. The vibe was very relaxing as was the grounds. The gardens and general landscaping are all very engaging. Entire farmhouse was redone and interior is crafty yet whimsical with wide plank floors and barnwood beams throughout the first floor. read more
