Had officers waiting on a person of interest today and my wonderful dog ran up to greet them. They didn't shoo him away. Advised what his commands were they threw his toy a couple of times and it fell into a filled culvert. They tried to find it but it was in the muck and almost unfindable. Longmont Police Dept - Arnold - Police Departments Near Me - Longmont, Colorado

In brief, I used the Longmont Police Department a 3xs in 2022: Once, to report a tailgater who I stopped and confronted, who then shoved me and proceeded to follow me for the next 10 mins in his car. Until I stopped and ran back at him. The police analysis was I provoked him to get out of his car and push me when I stepped out. After handing over pictures of the assailant, his car and license place, the police follow-up said he denied any wrong doing. Would the outcome be the same if this involved the officer's daughter? The 2nd, was a guy who yelled at me that my parked car was in his way. While moving it he followed in his car. While parked and calling the police to report being followed, the guy walked down the side of my car and punched me twice through the open window. I gave the police a description of the man and car. And said I believe he lives in the surrounding neighborhood. The police could not locate him. I found him 2 weeks later and verified it was him doing a "door knock". I notified the police of his address. They reported back that his car and he did not match my description. They refused to take any further action. Even when I told him he can be heard/verified in the background of the phone call reporting the incident to the police. The officer at the time said "I got into an altercation"; no further investigation is necessary. He refused to pull and review the recorded call for a voice match. The 3rd, I left a msg with the Police "Complaint Board" about the 2 above incidences being improperly investigated. (If I recall correctly, the "Complaint Board" and Police Sargent are one in the same.) To date, no one has called me back from the "Complaint Board" nor the "Sargent". Would I use them again? I was just involved in a two vehicle accident this morning. I felt we were both at fault. I was attempting a left hand turn at a yellow light that was turning red. The guy that hit me came barreling down the street to get through and I was going maybe 3 miles an hour. I never saw him and everyone else had stopped. I thought it was clear.He hit me so hard it moved my car 10 feet. I got the ticket. The officer stood there and told me they couldn't prove he was speeding. Give me a break. I'm almost 65. Unfortunately, I can't remember the officer's name, but I had my e-bike stolen from Hover Park and reported it on a Wednesday. I received a call by Friday that it had been found. I really didn't have much hope that it would found at all! I appreciate the officer's attention to detail as he drove and found the bike hiding behind a cluster of trees. read more

The Longmont Police Dept. strikes again. And the Keystone Kops of the Year Award goes to...OFFICER ERNIE WALKER! On Sunday, December 2, 2018, I had a 20 inch TV/DVD combo on my lap, in a powerchair that was nearly out of charge. I know the Qdoba crowd well, and as I had about a mile to go to my house, I went in to Qdoba to charge my chair. The outlet is under a table, and that table as well as the one next to me was filled up with a large catering order, so I set my LARGE TV on the staff break table on the south side (I call it "the staff table," because I always see the staff take their breaks there), near the only other exit from the store, the south door. There were few customers in the store, and only two employees, Hayley and Eric, who know me by sight. I trusted them, so I felt no inhibitions about leaving my TV on the table, while I charged my chair facing the only exit with a camera, the West entrance door. There are only 2 doors customers could exit; THAT door, or the south side entrance. In the half hour I was there, I never heard anyone open the bathroom door at the back of the store, nor did I hear anyone open the south side door. Out of the corner of my eye, I DID see Haylee go over to the table where my TV was, and bend over. I did not think anything of it, as that table is their break table. After charging my chair for half an hour, I turned around--and my TV was GONE! Hayley was assisting a customer, so I waved to Eric. He came over, and I said "Someone stole my TV!" He smirked, and said, "Maybe someone threw it out." I was AGHAST, and said a TWENTY INCH TV/DVD COMBO?! He just shrugged his shoulders and returned to work. When Hayley was finished with the customer, I told her someone stole my TV. She TOO smirked and shrugged her shoulders. I said, "We need to look at the security cameras." She said, "I don't know anything about the security cameras" (which was a LIE). I THOUGHT the manager of Qdoba, Mark, was my FRIEND, and asked for his number. Hayley ONCE AGAIN LIED to me, and claimed she didn't know it. I accused her of lying, so she gave me the store card with Mark's name on it. I tried calling the number on it, which of course rang the store. Hayley laughed, and told me I was calling the STORE (this was a huge joke to her). I left the store at about 4:00 and after going as far as Texas Roadhouse, turned around again and went back to Qdoba. I told Eric, "You MUST have Mark's phone number; don't tell me you don't have it." So he DID go to the back and got his phone number. I called and left a voicemail for him. I told Hayley, "I'm calling the police." She very sarcastically said, "Go ahead." She knew perfectly well the Longmont Police were not going to do anything, and she was RIGHT. I gave the report to Officer Walker. I was SHOCKED that he didn't go look at the security films right then and there, and at least go to the restaurant and LOOK in the back of the restaurant--he would have found my TV--but doing his JOB was obviously asking too much of him. He called me back, and merely repeated their lies to him, that there was supposedly no security camera in the front entrance or the side. I KNEW that wasn't true! It turned out there IS no security camera on the south door (near where my TV was), but the manager told me the sensor indicated that NO ONE LEFT THE STORE via that door on Sunday, which leaves ONLY ONE DOOR any customer could have exited--the FRONT DOOR, where I came in at, WHICH THE CAMERA IS ON FULL TIME. NO ONE IS SEEN LEAVING WITH MY TV ALL DAY, which leaves only one alternative--it was CARRIED OUT THE BACK by Hayley or Eric. I obtained the police report, and was SHOCKED by what Officer Walker wrote. He states that I went in to Qdoba in my powerchair to charge it. He THEN wrote that Eric said that he never noticed me "walking around with a TV, and he would have noticed someone walking around with a TV." HOW on earth could he have RECORDED that as FACT, knowing I am in a powerchair? Then he stated, "Case closed for lack of suspects," which is LAUGHABLE, as he TALKED to the suspects (BOTH Eric AND Hayley). The district manager, Brad, told me he would replace my TV--so the crimes of his employees against me will be swept under the carpet? I did not give up 9 years of my life to "serve, protect and defend" my country in the U.S. Army (and the rights of all of its citizens), only to come back to my country and LOSE MINE. The sign at the Longmont Police Dept. says "Law enFORCEment," which is a JOKE, as the only thing that gets enforced in this town is CRIME. Today is Saturday, nearly a week later, and I talked to Officer Walker today. He said that YESTERDAY, FIVE DAYS AFTER THE CRIME, he went to Qdoba and viewed the security film. He very casually said, "I didn't see anything." Then he added, "I mean, I'm sorry you LOST your TV"--does ANYONE agree with him that my TV was "LOST"? My concern increased when he continued to grill me about what brand of exhaust I had installed, after I had told him that it was unmodified. I hope he is doing better now. read more

The dispatch team and police department are a joke, just like the entire town of Longmont. They are rude, incompetent and do not help anyone and always side with the offender. Dispatch is beyond rude, unhelpful and extremely ignorant. You have better luck just not even bothering with these people because none of them care about anything. Dispatch will argue with you and basically stop short of calling you annoying because they are incapable of showing any kindness or doing their job at all. I was pulled over the other day for having a burnt out back blinker on the passenger side of my car. As usual I am in a rush to produce everything that the officer asks me of. My license, registration and proof of insurance. The insurance documents that I produced were expired and so he called my agent's number to confirm I had insurance. Of course it had to be a Sunday and my agent's office was closed. The officer was nice enough to give me a warning but insisted that I fax current insurance documents to him right away. What he neglected to do was write the fax number on the ticket but I caught it before he could leave and he wrote it down. Trying to set me up for failure?? As I was told I was a good boy and faxed in those documents right away. In fact as soon as I got home I pulled up the current documentation online and did it so they got it Sunday evening. I called my agent so they could fax it again just to make sure. In the past I have had the Denver police department lose reports I filed three times. I still had little faith that I got the confirmation that I needed and so I drove to the police office just to make sure. The receptionist said that the ticket had to go to Code Enforcement so I went to that department and was told that I should not have been sent there in the first place and that the police department should have handled this. The lady in Code Enforcement called the police and gave me the officer's phone number to call to confirm that he got the documentation. I called him and left a message in which I never got a return call. So was he just trying to induce a panic attack on me and had no intention of looking at the faxed in information? Ineffectively run bureaucracy and poor communication for sure. Another reason why Longmont is such a dump! I was spilling out my frustrations to a friend that has lived in Longmont for a long time and I mentioned that the police here in town were little more than 'uniformed thugs and crooks' in which she then told me that when she was a teenager a officer who is still on the police force used to sell people her age at the time weed! Not too surprising. The police here in town never seem to be around when you need them and always there when you don't. I bet the people who got held up at Longmont's adult arcade, the three people that got stabbed in Longmont's streets all in one night during a major holiday and the six churches who got broken into in town recently might seem to agree! read more

Okay well I came in with my grandmother well over a week ago because my grandmother had been suckered into a scam over the phone anyways three weeks later I start getting crazy texts over my phone and I called the police department over the area that it was coming from and I told them I don't know who this was and I reported it to them and they said well go to your local police department and make a report there and then we'll basically take it from there and I walked in the woman goes nope! It's probably a scam okay lady, I'm 44 years old I'm not stupid I'm not as stupid as you think that my grandmother was and I am not about to go oh I wonder what this is thinking I'm stupid or something so I know of course you think I'm stupid but I'm not as stupid as you look anyhoo she read through it really quick and she's like well I don't see anything criminal about this even though obviously it was about somebody almost killing somebody or putting a gun up to somebody you know some jack moves s*** that's some g*********** lingo but this woman is like no I don't see it that's cool you know of course you're trained in to not knowing a God damn thing about criminal talk and such it's all good this is why you were hired for this position right? For the past 4 years due to an initial property line dispute, we have been harrased by our neighbors. They have tried everything from attempted arson, vandalizing cars, throwing used condoms over fences (dna evidence), to actually breaking into our chicken coop and killing two of our chickens and just throwing the scalps back over the fence. Durring this time we have tried to file police reports on many occasions but they will not file them. We have called the officer in charge of this distric several times and never even had a polite call back even to this day 3 years later. We have sent emails, left messages, and recieved nothing. We have even been to city mediation and zoning who were a little more helpful about the harrasment but not much and in the end everything agreed in mediation turned out to be more or less unenforceable, without expensive litigation. All I can say about Longmont is buyer beware, they do not seen to enforce any public nuisance laws nor do they have a Public Nuisance Abatement Unit like the City of Denver, so more or less there are many sleepless nights while people are going to and from to purchase narcotics at all hours of the day & night, even though we have written license plate numbers and complained to drug task force, nothing. IMHO this city isn't worth the property tax it receives. read more

I have never had a good experience with the longmont PD (they are slightly better than boulder PD but thats like saying one pile of dung smells better than another.) was at a party..guy drank too much started vomiting and raving wildly. so..we did the right thing, called 911 to get him help, cops showed up wrote tickets to everyone who was under 21 for drinking even though of the 8 who got a ticket only one had actually had anything to drink, then proceeded to interrogate me like i'm some sort of terrorist or psychopath even though i called 911 in the first place, and were that not all screwed up enough they pulled me over half a block from the house after i finally got to leave their witch hunt and gave me a ticket for 'speeding.' supposedly i was doing 48 in a 35...because yes i speed with tons of cops right behind me, in a 14 year old car that physically could not get to 48 in the 200 some feet i had driven at that point. In other words the longmont PD is far more concerned with making money, meeting ticket quotas, and doing their best to control people's personal lives when they aren't hurting anyone...than they are with protecting or serving anyone. Its a pretty bad thing when i see a police officer and tense up, my heart races, light sweating, and undeniable sense of fear...rather than feeling safe and protected. But sadly, that is exactly what the various police departments in boulder county have trained me and my friends to do. I have never had a single good experience with a police officer only situations where afterwards i felt violated, insulted, and angry (and keep in mind this is from a guy who has never been arrested and the only things on my record are a few speeding tickets.) so to the longmont PD if you read this: consider in the future that sometimes HELPING people is better than enforcing the law or screwing them over. If your community can't trust you to help them, why should they call you? read more

Before you write a 1 star review, schedule a ride along- realize they are here to protect this city I have called home for over 15 years! Last year, 12/31/10. My now husband and I were driving down the road, yes having an argument, I was driving. We were pulled over and I knew it wasn't a traffic violation by the way I was asked to step out of the vehicle and hand over the keys. It turns out some DB wanna-be cop, RTD driver / volunteer EMT called in a domestic violence report saying that he saw my SO without a doubt "beating the shit out of" me from a vehicle behind us, as stated in the police report. He must have seen hand motions, anger, just looking to ruin someone's holiday, idk, but it wasn't true, there was no physical contact. Being that he was buddies with the police, they told me someone that works "very closely" with them called it in and they couldn't ignore the call or believe anything I said. So my husband was arrested immediately and our New Year's Eve plans were ruined to say the least. I was followed to the PD where I was questioned, my words were twisted by the DB cop, they checked me for bruises (nothing was found), and I was assigned a victims advocate, but I know they only wanted to help if I said I was a victim, which I wasn't. So they transferred my calls several times without any answers or options, filed away my statements where I kept defending my husband. I was kept away from him for 3 weeks under a required protection order, I didn't ask for. After we were able to go home together we still had to struggle with all their BS hearings where I wasn't allowed to speak or even be present. He was offered a plea bargain for disorderly conduct, but would still need to take and pay for DV classes for a year. Anyone that knows him, knows that he is the last person to need that shit. So we decided to take all their BS and harassment to court and have a jury decide if I was really beaten by the most mild mannered and caring guy I've ever known (besides my daddy). Weeks before the trial I was served a subpoena to testify against my husband. Obviously, those arrogant bastards never bothered to look through my file. So I showed up that day ready to testify, I had been working with my husbands lawyer all along anyway. On the day of the trial, only minutes before, I was told that they didn't need my statement after all (they kept toying with me til the very last minute!), so our lawyer called me as a witness instead. After 6 months of miserably waiting, not knowing if we really had a chance against the f'd up system that is the legal system in this state, he was found not guilty! I'm still very grateful towards the jury that helped us get through that difficult part of our lives. I know of other stories similar to ours here in Longmont that didn't get the same outcome. I firmly believe that the LPD is full of arrogant a-holes looking for the stupidest BS to waste tax payers' money on to try and get an "easy" conviction and just another statistic for holiday domestic violence. The whole experience made me realize that their role in my case was to further take away a strong woman's voice and treat her like if she's not a helpless victim then they must act as the stronger force against her and convict yet another man and make him pay for being a man in a society that is set up to blindly give the woman EVERYTHING whether she needs/deserves it or not. A big FU to the LPD as I celebrate the beginning of the New Year next to my hubby! And as domestic violence free as ever! read more

My car brokedown in a dnagerous area and I was worried about getting his so, I called the longmont PD. They didn't answer the phone! It rang for 10 minutes. I had to waste the time of the people at 911. They love giving tickets for going 8 MPH over but they can't even answer the phone at 4:30pm on a weekday. read more

The only time I've had contact with Longmont Police was when I needed them, and they were quick to come to my aid. The circumstances were frightening in one instance and were it not for Longmont police, my daughter might have died at the hands of an assailant. When a family member passed under tragic circumstances, the officers who came were extremely kind and supportive, and called for more support for me and my family. So maybe there are some bad apples, I don't know, but to date I have not met one. I want to thank the Longmont Police department for being there when I needed them, and frankly I'm mighty glad the men and women in blue are here in Longmont. The ones I've met have been smart, caring, and professional. read more
