Lived here almost four years and I really do like this place…read more Longmont is a sleeper community for Boulder and is about 20 minutes out from Boulder using The Diagonal (County Rd 119). Located in town for larger companies are: a branch of GE, Pharmerica (you would never know it) Amgen and Seagate. Boulder/Gunbarrel hold Qualcomm, IBM, Spectra Logic, BI and a branch of Google. The Boulder County Fair Grounds are located in town on Hover St (which runs parallel to Main St.) This is also where the Farmer's market is held on Saturdays from May to August or October. It has been growing in size here evey year and there is plenty of parking. I like this place because for the most part it is clean. Coming from Florida where the roads are generally littered with debris, this place is spotless. The longer you live here the more you notice it, but it is borderline negligible. You probably want to avoid living down by Main Street. Then again, there are plenty of cute, older homes and a few larger historical homes driving down 3rd Ave. It is a mash up. It might get a little dodgy on the East side of Main St. but then it eases up into nicer communities again. Train rail: Runs through the center of town and it gets used - keep that in mind. Lakes and Reservoirs: It usually costs per person. One cost $8 per person, not car. That was a shock coming from Florida. Crime - Applied for a job with the city and I mentioned that someone said there are "gangs" here and the police officers I was interviewing with did confirm this, but I have to say it is almost laughable because you really cannot tell. I have never once seen an obvious signs of "gangs" here. Foliage - I am impressed that the city actually tends to its lane dividers and there are real plants and trees in them. The older part of town has plenty of shade trees, but as you move to the edges, persay, there are less trees due to newer construction. The town continually sends out a newsletter with activities and reminders which I personally like. Every year there is the Mud Hen Run and Rhythm on the River. They have a shredding event every couple of months at the recycling center which is in the town, not on the outskirts. This is where you can take your wrapping paper and trees too. Love the public pools but they can get crowded and loud with lots of kids, but who can pass up the tube slides (two at each venue)?? There is a small airport that people park at and watch the small planes land. This is on Airport Rd where the police like to hide behind the Amgen sign with a speed gun... Plenty of dog parks, just be sure to have your dog's shots up to date and licensed because apparently the city likes to creep around and nail people. Longmont is a "family town," more than other towns I have lived in in Florida. I always feel safe here. I have only lived in one apartment complex since being here and we like it enough that we haven't moved. There are plenty of decent complexes in this town ,and yes a few questionable ones. *Note 2013 - I have since moved to TN and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't truly miss Longmont. "You don't know what you have until it's gone"...did I just quote Cinderella? *Note 2017 (my review was dropped from a five star to three for the following reason) - I am college educated, handle my bills well, live below my means and would love to return to Longmont. Sadly, we are unable to do so due to the outrageous increase in rent. The apartment we used to live in (and loved) charged us slightly over $1064 in 2013. This same two bedroom, two bath second floor unit is now available from $1,860 - $2880 a month - not including pet fees. I am heartbroken. I miss the mountains and amazing weather - do you know what it is like to grow up without seasons? It's weird. Our plan is to finally settle on a state with our new family and I would love to contribute to my community and become an invested member of the town, alas this type of pricing in Longmont is ridiculous. The rates are so extreme that individuals and companies who are ramping up their rental rates in order to get their fair share of the boom are pushing out well meaning, intelligent, and productive individuals. The city will end up with households consisting of more than one family, numerous generations, or clusters of young adults co-habitating, just so these people can afford to live within city limits. It is sad when you want to return and all you are hoping for is the housing bubble to burst. The large corporation I worked for prior to leaving Colorado has since let go of over 130 people and the ability to return to this company is highly unlikely. I cannot emphasize how much my husband and I want to return to raise our child here. Dear Longmont: I am your target market and I cannot afford to contribute to bolstering a community I really loved. If I knew I could safely afford to live here we would return in a heartbeat.

Until I stopped and ran back at him. The police analysis was I provoked him to get out of his car and push me when I stepped out. After handing over pictures of the assailant, his car and license place, the police follow-up said he denied any wrong doing. Would the outcome be the same if this involved the officer's daughter? The 2nd, was a guy who yelled at me that my parked car was in his way. While moving it he followed in his car. While parked and calling the police to report being followed, the guy walked down the side of my car and punched me twice through the open window. I gave the police a description of the man and car. And said I believe he lives in the surrounding neighborhood. The police could not locate him. I found him 2 weeks later and verified it was him doing a "door knock". I notified the police of his address. They reported back that his car and he did not match my description. They refused to take any further action. Even when I told him he can be heard/verified in the background of the phone call reporting the incident to the police. The officer at the time said "I got into an altercation"; no further investigation is necessary. He refused to pull and review the recorded call for a voice match. The 3rd, I left a msg with the Police "Complaint Board" about the 2 above incidences being improperly investigated. (If I recall correctly, the "Complaint Board" and Police Sargent are one in the same.) To date, no one has called me back from the "Complaint Board" nor the "Sargent". Would I use them again? NO!!!!

I can't say I've ever seen the show, but if it helped make Robin Williams a household name I'm already a fan. We parked across the street, walked up, grabbed our photos, and they enjoyed recalling their favorite moments from the show. Really you can only take pictures outside of the house, but the Mork and Mindy House is a fun stop for those who have a special place in their heart for the show. "Nanu nanu"

Noticeable differences are the exterior color, additional trim around the porch, the huge trees, and the white fence. There was someone working in the yard when I came to check out the house, so I did my best to not be much of a nuisance. I only took 3 pictures! I was not living in the U.S. when the first 2 seasons aired. I watched the reruns and the new episodes as they came out. I enjoyed this quirky show! This house was built in 1883. For the show, it was both Mindy's apartment (upstairs) and Mr. Franklin Bickley's Apartment (ground floor). Mork moved into the attic. Filming of the interior was shot at the Paramount Studios Lot. The exterior of this house was also used for "Perfect Strangers" & "Family Matters". Facts I found about this property: 7 bedrooms 4 bathrooms 3,818 sq ft of floor space has a basement has a detached garage In 1974, it was sold for $80,000 Zillow estimate today is $3,172,500 This house is "A City of Boulder Landmark" If you liked Mork & Mindy or just seeing a gorgeous house, drop by and take a look! This is a private residence, so be a respectful sightseer and stay on the sidewalk. Nanu Nanu

It helps that you now need to make an appointment online. When you enter the building you check into the kiosk and are given a number. The building has been newly renovated (since June) and has lots of comfortable chairs, several screens that show when it is your time to be helped. They even announce your number in case you are not facing the screens. There is a privacy glass now which helps with health and safety for the employees and customers. This partition did not take away from connecting with the employee. The employee that helped us (Jamila) was in training. She was personable, friendly and helpful. She made the transaction a very positive experience. There is free street parking and a free parking lot across the street.
