Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii... Located across from McKinley High School, this Longs Drugs Store (aka CVS on the mainland) has free parking and a drive-through pharmacy. I used my GPS and found out that there's an entrance from Young Street, too! When I entered the clean, brightly lit, air-conditioned store, I was immediately greeted in a cheerful manner! I whispered to the kind staff that I needed to use the restroom... LOL! She courteously escorted me to the employee restroom... thank you so much! I was actually in a rush to get to an appointment, so I quickly looked around at my favorite things: bunnies, snacks, greeting cards, sale items (they thoughtfully post the weekly ad) and Hello Kitty cosmetics... and drove off... I'll be back!

This Longs Drugs location is just across the street from McKinley High School.

I'll have to admit I don't shop at this particular Longs Drugs location to much, but when I am looking for something that is popular & "on sale", I seem to get pretty lucky when I go to this particular location that is right across the street from McKinley High School. Lots of parking available, as the parking lot surrounds the entire building. You can enter the parking lot from two streets, either from - Young Street or S. King Street. The only downfall about coming here is that there are quite a bit of "shady characters" who hang out on the sidewalks on the backside of the building, and I sometimes see them walking through the parking lot scoping out the cars. Aside from that, it's your typical Longs Drugs store. I like Longs, and they promote & carry a lot of local products, even if Longs Drugs is mainland owned. Longs Drugs has pretty much intergraded themselves within the local community, as they've been in the islands for ages. Yesterday, I came here to buy some cold cut meats that were on sale. Found what I was looking for, as I picked up several packs of smoked turkey breast cold cuts so I could make a few sandwiches for myself at lunch. Mission accomplished, as they had more than enough product, and I could pick & choose on whatever cold cuts I was looking for.

Love coming to this Longs! I usually come here when I'm in town because it is close to work. Stopped in for some greeting cards which have risen in prices. I love that the CVS app had a $5 off coupon if I bought $20 worth of cards which turned out because I need quite a few. The employees here are very friendly and even know me by name because I go there so often. They are always helpful and very welcoming. They are usually stocked with items and have great sales especially when it's end of the season. The prices are affordable and when they have value book, it's even better although they do have a sale every Sunday. I was happy that I found what I needed and was able to get in and out quickly.

Wow, amazing customer service! Maybe it's early morning and they all started on their best foot forward? Not only was I greeted and warmly welcomed when I set foot in the door, the nearest cashier saw me using the coupon kiosk and encouraged me to "use my knuckles" to enter my phone number. And just as she stated, the screen worked great that way (didn't like my pointer finger I guess). The cosmetic aisle is plentiful, with lots of options to choose from. They always have some kind of sale, so if you're not particular to a brand, just spot the yellow sale tags to narrow down your search. The great thing about loyalty programs, is the reward after you spend so much. I don't know what it takes to get five free dollars but hey, if it means I get mascara on sale AND I can use my reward with "no fine print" then badda bing, it's done!

Located across of McKinley Hih school, friendly, clean store! When I walked into the store today, an employee greeted me. As I walked the aisles and looked for this week's deals, I was asked if I was finding everything okay. When I stood in line to pay for my things, the cashier noticed my fire fighter pendant and complimented me. Attentive, courteous and respectful employees are a reflection of leadership and management! Hats off to the store manager of this location! Clean and well-stocked shelves and a very welcoming store! I will definitely come back to this Longs :)

Convenient Longs Drugs (CVS) location that is right across the street from McKinley High School. You can gain entry to this Long from both King Street and Young Street. They have a drive through pharmacy! This is where I go to get my prescriptions or when I need something on my way home from work. There is always parking, usually shaded. Shopping at Longs, you always get pretty good prices. If you are ever sick with the cold or flu, they carry Vicks tissues. If you don't know what these are, you need to discover them. It's tissues for your nose that has lotion and Vicks in them! Totally helps keep your nose from getting raw and helps clear your sinuses with the menthol in them. Life changing / game changer! So one thing that I absolutely hate. Their damn receipts that are 5' long with coupons that you usually won't use and just throw away. Talk about waste of paper! CVS, please stop the madness! Think of trees and the environment.

I would just drive to the Ala Moana location because it's not too far, plus it's a good excuse to stop by Mari's Urban Garden haha. Free parking in the structure (ask the pharmacist to validate for you) and the service is always friendly, quick, and helpful. They use RxLocal, which is an online portal and mobile app that you can use to check pharmacy hours, message with the pharmacy, refill your prescriptions, and set medication reminders. I had so many horrible experiences with CVS/Walgreens on the mainland and eventually switched to a small, family-owned pharmacy and the experience was night and day. I was glad to find 5 Minute Pharmacy and have been very satisfied with their service, especially as someone that takes various controlled medications and has a generally more complicated process with refills and prior authorizations.

Parking isn't a hassle. The parking garage is free so you don't have to battle for street parking. If you do park on the street, keep your eye on your meter, because the cops give tickets out all the time. I see parking enforcement nearly everytime I'm there.

My child is medically fragile and relies on enteral formula, syringes, extension sets, and a G-tube device for daily survival. These are not items that can be purchased at a store, and timely, predictable delivery is medically necessary. On multiple occasions, scheduled deliveries were either missed or significantly delayed without any communication from the company. In the most recent incident, a delivery requiring a signature was scheduled within an 8 a.m.-5 p.m. window. A caregiver stayed home all day, yet no delivery occurred and no call was made to notify us of the delay. The delivery ultimately arrived close to 11 p.m., which created safety concerns for both the driver and our household and disrupted a medically fragile child who is seizure-prone. While we were relieved that the supplies were eventually delivered, the lack of communication, follow-up, and explanation was concerning. When deliveries involve life-sustaining nutrition or medical devices, "eventually delivered" is not sufficient. Late-night deliveries, missed windows, and absent courtesy calls pose real risks--especially for families caring for children with special needs, elderly patients, or individuals dependent on oxygen or other medical equipment. Over the years, there have also been recurring issues with inaccurate patient information, lack of follow-up on backordered items despite promised callbacks, and inconsistent communication from both office staff and delivery services. I want to be clear that my intent in sharing this is not to single out individual employees, but to highlight systemic issues that I hope leadership will address. Improved communication, accurate patient records, proactive notifications about delays or backorders, and clear delivery time boundaries would significantly improve safety and trust for patients and caregivers. I am sharing this so other families and caregivers are aware, and in hopes that PharmaCare will continue working toward the level of reliability that medically dependent patients truly need and deserve.

Every time I walk inside, there's a strong, unpleasant odor that smells like sewage or fecal matter. It's consistent enough that it doesn't feel like a one-off issue--it's something you notice immediately when you enter the store. At times it seems stronger in certain areas, which makes me wonder if it's coming from plumbing, floor drains, or possibly even outside air getting pulled in. What's frustrating is that this location used to feel like one of the better-run stores on the island. Now, the overall impression is very different. Even if the shelves are stocked and the staff is doing their job, the environment itself really affects the experience of shopping there.
