Although it's not 24 hours, I really appreciate how at least they open till 11 PM and they open again at 6 AM, it's the closest pharmacy to where I live. Fortunately, we haven't had to buy a lot of medicine here. I'm mostly come to shop with my coupons lol. The last time I was here, I got some cosmetics, skin, care, products, and some hallmark cards, and a bag of 3D pineapple gummies for free! I came here, kind of late around 9 PM, and the cashier who helped me was really friendly and helpful. An elder Asian man( maybe mgr) that work here is very rude. I was looking for protein bar. This man heading my way looking down on his phone. I said "excuse me". No response! I thought okay he didn't hear me because he continued to pass me with no eye contact nor say anything. I said "excuse once more" and his response was (still looking down on his phone, no interaction) "no I'm helping a customer right now". Another customer heard his response and she told me that the workers are rude to her too. I just said excuse me and this person acted as if I didn't exist. This is a very poor customer service. We've been having our pharmaceutical prescriptions filled and getting our vaccinations here for over a decade but I created this page mainly to shout out the friendly customer service, availability of pharmaceutical inventory, and often near-painless vaccination shots. Recent transactions have been a breeze as COVID-19 safety protocols call for social distancing between customers, mandatory face coverings for everyone, and plexiglass barriers at the counter which duals as privacy screens and barriers from COVID-19 transmission. Special shout outs to pharmacist Caroline Mizo and pharmacy technician Cindy. Both women always greet us and have wonderful smiles. Whenever we've gone in for our immunizations (most recently influenza, shingles, and pneumococcal), Caroline has administered the shots with virtually no pain, um, even while I watch her insert the needle into my arm. My husband takes more medications than I do and has kept all of his prescriptions at this CVS Pharmacy while maintaining his auto-refills and notifications via the CVS app. A couple of months ago, we transferred our prescriptions to another CVS Longs Drugs but even though we had also received similar service, we just felt that this Ala Moana location and their staff are so much more congenial and attentive. Anyway, even if we're only here to pick up our medications we've not had long waits as our physician offices will usally eith phone or transmit the prescritptions into this pharmacy and we'll just wait to receive notification on our app to pick it up within an hour of leaving our physicians' offices. Their head pharmacist is genuinely nice and the guys who assisted me on the cashier were nice as well. The lady who vaccinated me was as cold as the ice and no customer service. She was even giggling with the guy she vaccinated before me. She picks who to give her "customer service". It would be 5 star if I didn't interact with that lady today. I give it a 5 star for its medicines but I give it a 2 for the very unhappy disgruntled worker that literally opened the windows as I was her first customer. Wow! Early on a Sunday morning nobody likes that unhappy greeting. I hope she cheered up after the day kept going. I do however thank the staff for helping me out to get and put in my medicine that all of Walgreens didn't have anymore and on island I couldn't find it. Also, the ala Moana cvs is the only one that carried it. Crazy. I was very grateful and happy to be your first customer today but went away feeling badly. I opt not to buy expensive drinks or bottled waters from anywhere else but here! Its 0.50 for water here! If you think there arnt inexpensive options while at the mall, just not looking! Tips to maximize your savings: (1) Lots of tourists shop here! MOST dont have CVS cards, lend your no. if its appropriate! *Some sales associates will ask if anyone in line will loan their CVS card so the tourists can get sales - Its a win for you because you get their points and its a win for them because they get to save* (2) Coupons! You get coupons at check-out, BUT you also get different coupons by using their CVS machines. Stack em when you can! Coupon policy is online if youre hesitant. (3) Use multiple CVS cards and do multiple purchases! My card has some savings and my husbands card has different ones! Mix-and-match to save! Notes: (1) I paid with a CVS gift card, returned some items from that purchase, and got a CVS Money Card with the amount back. Their Money Cards act like gift cards. This particular location at Ala Moana Shopping Center is convenient for visitors and residents because it has free parking and is visible from the parking structure. It is closest to the Piikoi Street ramp that goes up to the Mall Level. I've found so many reasonably priced gifts, seasonal merchandise, greeting cards, snacks, Hello Kitty items, over-the-counter medicines, hair care products, office supplies, etc. The weekly ad in the local Sunday newspaper is popular at work! Longs Drugs? They're still around? To the SF Bay Area, Longs was history as they when CVS purchased it in 2008 and renamed all the stores CVS. However, the Longs name was retained in Hawaii because of the brand loyalty as residents have long regarded the name as a kamaanina institution. Its popularity has been with the islanders for generations. Every visit, we make stops to this Long's location at Ala Moana to buy gifts to bring back home due to its large product selection and prices compared to its competitors. The aisle with the macadamia nuts is always crowded with shoppers as they decide on the many brands, varieties and sizes from single packs, bags, small to large boxes. Other items I always get are the Hawaiian Natural Tea and CookKwee's Maui cookies. They carry the li hing, seeds, jams and many souvenir items, like calendars, postcards, key chains, magnets, etc. If from the mainland, remember that you can use your CVS ExtraCare card for the sales prices, your discounts coupons and reward bucks. Sign-up at the registers to get the ExtraCare card if you don't have one. I'm a fan of Longs and that's why I come back every time I'm visiting the Islands. I loved coming to this Longs Drugs for filling my prescription when I lived in Honolulu. I started filling my prescription at the Longs Drugs on South King Street but switched locations sometime about a year later. I chose to wait for my medicine and the pharmacies in Honolulu are busy no matter when you come. So wait times could easily be 40 minutes to an hour, if I was lucky it would be closer to 20 minutes. This Longs Drugs was the perfect location for me because I lived in Mānoa and didn't have a car which meant I walked here. I would get a few miles of walking in and could do some shopping around the Ala Moana Shopping Center while I waited for the prescription to be filled. The pharmacists were professional and handled the high volume of patrons well. The store itself had a few chairs where one could sit and wait for the prescription to be filled. It had a good selection of bathroom products and a good nutritional foods area with protein-rich/healthy food options. Also a solid selection of more junk food/sweets options. I was not once treated with disrespect and the workers displayed an enormous amount of patience. read more

Easy access for us and also this longs drugs that is closest to us. ~ As far as I've noticed, Longs Drugs has been a staple drugstore esp. among locals. This branch is a pretty big one, and so convenient. When you are inside Ala Moana Center this one will surely cater your needs. Staffs are also helpful but sometimes may become a bit snobby esp. when they're kind of busy. The pharmacist though are the coolest. Hehehe. They'll serve you happily and is willing to adress the answer to your question. I could've sworn I reviewed this place before and probably did as the amount of reviews are very low for a store this old. Yelp is famous for merging businesses pages, closing pages, blah blah blah, so I'm not surprised something fishy happened here. BRIEF HISTORY: Longs was established in 1938 by brothers Thomas & Joseph Long in California. The first Hawaii store opened in 1954. Other west coast states with locations included Nevada, Arizona, Alaska, Colorado, Oregon & Washington. Longs was acquired by CVS in 2008 with all stores changing name to CVS except for the Hawaii locations which is why you still see the Longs Drug name in the islands. EXPERIENCE: I stop in every now and then to pick up odds and ends like drinks, snacks, OTC meds, etc. while on vacation. This Longs in located in Ala Moana Center, so parking is horrendous (if you want a close stall). It's not a huge store but they are super busy! I particularly don't like the "triangular" layout of the store as its difficult to navigate, but they make it work and offer pretty much everything that my hometown store in Kahului does. Cashier service is usually very quick - a service that lacks on Maui. For those of you who've never been in a Longs, they're kind of like a miniature Walmart. They process photos, have pharmacies and sell electronics, small kitchen appliances, groceries, fishing supplies, household goods, greeting cards, Asian goods, alcohol, and health/beauty products. TIPS: Download the CVS app which works at any Longs. You can also opt for emailed receipts instead of receiving their ridiculously yard-long ones. Their weekly ads have tons of things on sale. Quite often, you'll receive a 40% off coupon good for one item not on sale along with other restrictions. Longs stopped selling tobacco products years ago. I noticed the address for the CVS Pharmacy page is for the one inside Target. No idea why it was switched over to that one instead of creating a new page. Longs Drugs is a staple of Ala Moana Shopping Center and one of its original stores, and has been in this spot for as long as I can remember. No other store can say that! The US Post Office below Longs has always been there as well! I like shopping at this Longs because it's very convenient and close to the parking lots. You can easily get to it from the Piikoi/Queen St ramp, but parking over there is usually crowded, I opt to park one level down near the Post Office and just take the escalator up, and you're right at the entrance. I find this Longs to always have sale items in stock regardless the day of the week. Their shelves are always neat, filled, and organized. The staff here are very friendly and patient. They're also well-staffed, and handle long lines and crowds very quick and efficiently. This Longs is almost always busy with many tourists and visitors shopping here for many, many things. Besides the usual, Macadamia Nut Chocolates and Hawaiian branded coffee, this is the only place to shop for basic, everyday necessities in Ala Moana. It's pretty much a one stop shop in the center of Ala Moana, so you need to walk to the opposite side to Target, or across the street to Walgreens and Wal-Mart. Keep CVS in the mainland! I like shopping at this Longs Drugs. It is very conveniently located at Ala Moana shopping center. Despite most of the other non-luxury stores being pushed out, Longs remains a mainstay in the shopping center. It's nice to have it here to pick up a few items or basic necessities that you need before going home while you're shopping at the mall. This location tends to be quite crowded as there are a lot of tourist that frequent this location. Do to this, it can be a bit crazy, but I'm always still able to find what I need. Never in my life have I EVER had such a rude customer service! ZERO STARS which I'm sorry for the rest of the amazing team members this one needs to find another job. The mall entrance cash wrap has a single long counter with multiple service staff (two at this time) there are multiple poles which I have of course chose the closed one not knowing though not that it wasn't accessible to walk through. I was getting my CVS card ready and waiting to be called only to be completely ignored because I was in a different lane. Only until another guest had approached she immediately calls them forward for purchase stunned they said "you were here first" only to be told "NO she's in a closed line" and refused to help me with no smile no apologies not grateful for her job. This sad how you treat another human a local that tries to support and understand in these difficult times everyone needs to show more compassion. My doc sends a prescription to this pharmacy. The pharmacy tells me it won't be here until tuesday which is 7 days from the time the prescription was sent. Great. I come back the following week on thursday. They tell me they don't have it because the prescription expired on Monday. Why was I not told that this was a problem initially? They obviously would have already known the prescription expires on Monday and that I wouldn't be able to pick up my medicine. Whatever, I call the doctor and they're going to send another prescription. I get off the phone with the doctor, I'm still at the pharmacy. The pharmacist then comes over and tells me. Actually we don't have the medicine, you have to go to this other pharmacy to get it. Why the hell did you just tell me to get a new prescription sent if you didn't even have the medicine, and why did the other person tell me that it would be there Tuesday? These people might be missing some brain cells. read more

If you want to go to a Longs that has unhappy workers that hate their job, you can come on to this one! When you try looking for assistance they don't even bother trying to acknowledge you at all. You would have to really stand in front of them to stop them and to assist you. Also if you are using a coupon it seems like they hate you for even using it. They would try make up excuses for you to not use the coupon, even the management would accuse you for already using the coupon and making up excuses for you to not use it at their store. They wouldn't even apologize to you that they can't accept the coupon, they just give you the look like you were in the wrong... So I went to another Longs location and they accepted my coupons happily. read more

Wow I just had the weirdest and worst experience at this pharmacy, which I use all the time, because I live right here in the high rises of kakaako. They were so rude and catty towards me. I was polite the whole time, just trying to pick up my anxiety medication. Which they clearly are aware I suffer from severe anxiety..from the medication I'm picking up...and I also have recently been suffering from horrible insomnia. So I'm fatigued & at the time in store, had a splitting headache and just wanted to get in and out smoothly. So unfortunately after paying I didn't check my medication until I got in the car and realized it was the wrong one. So I went back in asking to swap it out and then I got one of those coupons upon receipt and I had asked if I could use the $3 off vitamins coupon on something like tums, sometimes things scan. But instead the guy helping me asks the pharmacist if tums are a vitamin, then the pharmacist and one of the girl techs subtly laughed at me while I was still there, and can clearly hear the girl ask the pharmacist did I really just ask that and she replied yes she asked if tums are vitamins. As if I can't hear them right there a few feet away from me? Then I finished my transaction and was still polite and thanked the cashier, as I walked away I hear them cackling out so loud in laughter all together...as if I was walking away from a school yard in grade school. All because they thought I was asking if tums is a vitamin. Oh and because I saw that cvs brand had a sugar free option, does the name Brand offer a sugar free option? The guy at the cashier didn't even know any of the answers to my questions and he was actually nice at first but then in the end i guess decided to join in on the bandwagon with the pharmacist and her tech. And that wasn't what even what I meant at all, i just wondered if it would scan with the coupon. But regardless even if I am asking any sort of questions to do with their field of expertise, why would they pick on me like that? It's so crazy to me, especially that the pharmacist (the leader) would instigate this kind of behavior and be so rude to me for no reason throughout my time there. The workers will only be as good as their leader, if she leads by this kind of example then clearly they will follow this behavior. Im really disappointed that someone who is a professional in the medical field, would behave this way, someone that I would normally look up to. And I kept thanking them for their help like an idiot whilst being made fun of like that, left me feeling so uncomfortable. Really, so bizarre. I've honestly never experienced that before. I mean I've definitely dealt with catty women before, but not in this type of a professional environment, not to mention the customer service aspect that should be associated with this pharmacy within a convenience store. It makes me now feel extremely uncomfortable to return to this pharmacy location in the future, when it's always been my go to, so that really sucks that now. I found most of the items I was looking for very quickly, but since Sunday is their big ad day, this Longs had extremely long checkout lines as could be expected. This location has terrible customer service. I called first to make sure they had compression socks and I asked about sizes and open toed ones. They are rushing and just said, yes, yes we have. I asked about sizes and open toed they said, yes, yes we have. Bullshit! They never checked I made the trip with my recovering broken foot for nothing! Only one or two types, nothing open toed. I need open toed because my foot is swollen it will not fit a shoe. How do you wear closed toed socks with slippers?? STUPID! Which is why I called first! I don't know about other locations but Ala Moana location has TERRIBLE customer service! They just don't want to help. read more

In the Ala Moana shopping center. This is a great Longs drug store (CVS stores on the Mainland) both in prices, and snack supplies. Almost always have best prices for Mac nut products, and the variety needed for locals and tourists. Compared to neighborhood Longs, this branch has the most tourist souvenir type items and snack foods to bring back to the Mainland. read more

This morning there was a temporary "glitch"- two registers were temporarily "off-line"; two customers who were in line ahead of us left; one said he'd go to Target and probably be done before the problem was resolved. After calling for help from a manager, someone finally came to help. One cashier took some of the customers in her line to another register which was working. The cashier for our line tried unsuccessfully, with the manager's help, to reboot her register. So, the manager asked us to go to another register. Here's where the "problem" was exacerbated; customers were unclear which register to go to, which resulted in people arbitrarily cutting in line. Courtesy and civility were non-existent. Before I could put my loaded basket down on the conveyor belt, this woman put three cans of mandarin oranges down in front of me. She was not even originally in the same line with me. The cashier, who I think was flustered, did not say anything to her and rang up her total. The woman made her repeat twice what her total was before abruptly saying she didn't want her items. Okay. I think she was rude to the cashier and to the rest of us who were waiting in line. read more
