Love coming to Longs Park. This was part of their summer free concert series. We came to see Low Cut Connie. I've followed them since they got their start in South Philly. Gave an excellent show for about an hour and a half. Nice large park not a bad seat anywhere. Very family friendly. A lot of families with from babies on up to preteens. Couple of the dads were playing catch with their toddlers off to the side. Great place to have the kids and get up and run around. They're not bothering anybody. You can bring in your own snacks and nonalcoholic beverages. It's all free. Bathrooms are easily accessible. They had two extra porta-johns as well as the already established restroom building, which was very clean by the way. Lots of parking, handicap accessible. They had closer parking for those that needed it. It's relatively easy to get in and out of the park there is a traffic light. Traffic does back up a bit but it's not too bad. We had a great time just sitting and listening to music and enjoying the weather. If you have a chance, check out Longs Park for their free summer concert series. read more

This is an 80 acre park located in Lancaster featuring an amphitheater that has been playing music for 60 years. Park also features a playground, tennis court, water and more. It's a great place to linger on a nice day. We got to enjoy their summer concert series on a Sunday. This is a very busy park so come early to grab a parking spot. During concerts you can grab food from mobile venues to enjoy throughout the concert. So bring a chair or blanket and enjoy a relaxing night of music. Worth a visit! read more

So, Lancaster PA just impressed the hell out of me on a recent trip, and one of the gems was this little, (actually quite big) park! Located right across the street from my hotel, (Residence Inn) and the Wegmans shopping centre, is this sprawling, beautifully maintained park; replete with swings, slides, playground equipment, benches, paved walkways, amphitheater, PETTING ZOO, and WIDE open spaces. What a great space! The park is dog friendly, and I spent over an hour there, just walking my dogs through the park, while the Misses took the baby to run and jump and play on the multiple playgrounds here. The park is WIDE open, very clean and everyone looked to be having a blast. It's a little old ladies going on walks for exercise, while people jog and children play on the swings type park. read more

This park is amazing. It has a pond for fishing, a bridge going out to a gazebo in the pond, nature areas, playgrounds, picnic areas, a petting zoo, and a tunnel to the local mall. It's well cared for and absolutely beautiful. There is even a pier for those wanting to fish. read more

My dog and I visited this lovely park. It is so nice to see so many people enjoying this park for a stroll, family gathering, watching the ducks, or sitting on a park bench with a friend. This is a vast park located between route 30 and Harrisburg pike. There is ample parking within the property, as well as an access tunnel from the Park City Mall lot. Well known for it's events such as a humongous chicken BBQ, Labor Day Art Fest and free Summer concert series it also provides a wonderful everyday green space for children to play and many pavilions to rent. The pond is lovely with many ducks who frequent, there are several picnic tables and charcoal grills for public use. The main ampitheatre/stage area provides a great venue for their concert series and is well maintained by the Sertoma club. The entire park is clean and well kept. Highly recommend as a venue or as a pleasurable walk when in the area. read more

Long's Park - Live Aid tribute night - Parks Near Me - Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Long's Park is as Lancaster county as shoe fly pie and if you're a local you've probably been here many times. Known for their fireworks and free summer concert series they also host the infamous Sertoma BBQ every May and a huge Labor Day craft fair. Aside from the many events they host there's a pond, several playgrounds, a petting zoo, an amphitheater, pavilions to reserve, and wide open grassy areas to relax or throw a Frisbee. Back in my youth it was also quite the cruise spot and a place for teens to show off their muscle cars and mingle. I have many happy memories making the rounds in my '69 Nova. However times have changed and about a decade ago it was notorious for anonymous homosexual encounters in the rest rooms, and for that reason some are closely monitored or closed. They have really cracked down and it's back to being a family friendly park. I recently spent several hours there during the covid lockdown taking my visiting grandson to the pond to feed the ducks. While I didn't allow him to play on any equipment their playgrounds are impressive, especially the one by the petting zoo. The park is well kept, except for duck poop, and has ample parking throughout. It's run by the Sertoma club and that's who you contact to rent a pavilion or contact for security issues. read more

For me Long's Park is probably the best thing going in the Lancaster area. True, that all of the area produce stands are great, so is experiencing the Amish or maybe taking a ride at Strasburg. But for all of the enjoyment those can empart, coming out to Long's for part of a day and for free enjoying a concert, the petting zoo, a picnic or all of the different playground areas is awesome. Every city should have a place this well kept and with so many options to kick back, relax and have a great family fun day at. read more

I came to Longs Park to attend a friends 25th vow renewal ceremony. The event took place in a white gazebo that was accessible via a walkway over the lake area in the park. It was a lovely day and the perfect setting for such an event. Afterwards, the reception was held in one of the covered pavilions on the grounds. There was plenty of seating via octagon shaped picnic tables that were hard on your rear, but that encouraged you to get up and mingle amongst guests. Restrooms were nearby and l observed a tennis court, children's playground area, basketball court and tennis court within my line of sight area. As we were coming into the park, there were signs posted for a petting zoo on the premises and food for sale such as pit beef, funnel bites, snowballs and other goodies. There were a number of parking areas, picnic tables with access to grills to barbeque food spread throughout the park. All in all, a great place to hold an event for a large group in an outdoor venue that is well maintained. read more

This is such a good playground for kids, families, and fun in general. Since the reconstruction, it is more enjoyable to come. A lot of the playground is shaded, so no need to worry about surface temperature! I would of course, always check. I love bribing my family here and will continue to do so. Lancaster's hidden gem. This is a cool place. Right off route 30 and across from Park City makes this place easy to find. Once there you have a decent size pond to walk around with ducks, geese, and fish. A bridge and gazebo give a nice pond experience. Next is an area with animals in an fake farm building. Animals come right up to the fence. Next is a large field to play ball and run around. Not to mention tables with grills to have a cookout. There's a band shell but the seating area is a strip of grass. An underpass connects the park to Park City. This place has it all. read more

My family and I visited Long's Park this summer, on a short vacation from Long Island. Owned by the city of Lancaster, Long's Park has a free petting zoo (takes donations), and lovely walking paths, surrounding a large pond. Apparently there are concerts at the ampitheatre there, but we didn't see one at the time. Mostly we loved the wooden playground under the locust trees, with its tunnels and levels. I wish I knew where that kit came from, my elementary school back in NY had a very similar playground, and we loved that one, too. Definitely unique, far better than standard park playgrounds, and a hidden gem. If you've got young kids, this is a not-miss! read more

Large park, great for running and picnics. The downside is you can here the buzz from the cars on the highway nearby. Long's park has this really cool tree house playground which is great for kids. read more
