I'm getting the runaround from this company following an incident that occurred on I-25N, about 12 miles out of Fort Collins, on 8/19/20, while I was traveling cross-country. I was driving in the left lane, and a Long's Peak Landscape truck and trailer were in the right lane. In a bumpy construction zone, a rock flew from their vehicle and struck the hood and windshield of my car, causing damage to both. My daughter was in the passenger seat, and she was able to grab some photos quickly, before the truck exited the freeway. One photo clearly shows another loose rock on the trailer. Being in the left lane, I wasn't able to follow the truck off the freeway, but I called the company at my next rest stop. The very kind receptionist assured me they would take care of the damage, and she asked me to send photos and full information, which I did immediately. They asked me to get a repair estimate, which I provided to them after I arrived home in CA. After 2 weeks passed with no response, I reached out again and was told to file a claim with my insurance company, which would then work with their insurance company for a resolution. Three months have now passed. My insurance company has been reaching out repeatedly, and Long's Peak has refused to put them in touch with their insurance so we can resolve this. My insurance company says there's nothing else they can do if Long's Peak won't cooperate. Now I am faced with living with the damage to my 2 year old car OR paying the $1000 deductible to get the damage repaired myself. Long's Peak Landscape was irresponsible in operating a vehicle with loose rocks on it, on public roads. I'm contacting an attorney to see what it will take to get this settled. read more

Would really like to give a negative 5 star. Brad came out and we talked about what I wanted. I wanted new weed barrier in the rocks. He talked me into this "wonderful" spray and I wouldn't have weeds for 2 years. Well guess what? WEEDS I wanted a sprinkler system assessment, he said ok and they would do that and turn on the system for season. I needed some other stuff done as well. I asked that they let me know when they were coming, nothing. They supposedly came and did stuff when I wasn't home. They started up my sprinkler system but I still have not gotten the assessment. I do not recommend this company at all. No follow through and I think they don't do half the stuff they charge for. NEVER AGAIN For some reason it says I"m in San Francisco but I'm not, I'm in Firestone. read more

They don't schedule services, they just show up. They charge for stuff that was never done or did not have the outcome they promised. This is the WORST landscape company ever, don't hire them if you want good service and want the results that were promised. Not one time did they schedule a service with me, they just showed up. I was suppose to have an irrigation system review and they never did that but claimed they did it and even sent me a spreadsheet with supposed dates on it. They claimed that if they use this special week spray on my rocks I would not have any weeds, yet I had more weeds in my rocks than I ever had. SUPER disappointed with Long's Peak Landscape. I chose them because of their other five star reviews. Arranged time to be home in order to meet with Brad, one of their designers. Walked him around our property telling him what we were looking for. He seemed happy to work with us. A few days later, I received an email from Brad telling me that they would not be able to help us and referring us to someone else. When I wrote back to ask if he could give me more information, I received no response. Then, they had the audacity to add me to their newsletter list. I wish someone could tell me why it is so difficult to get good landscaping help in Boulder County! Long's Peak was a big disappointment. read more

The guys at Long's Peak are skilled, professional and enjoyable to work with. Of all the landscapers I had out for estimates, they were the only ones who demonstrated that they understood what I wanted and were willing to give it to me. I had made up my mind to go with them anyway, but then none of the other landscapers actually followed through and got back to me with estimates. (Thanks a lot, GreenSpace and Wards Landscaping!) It has been a few months since they revamped my front lawn, and I have never been happier with the way my home looks. Not only am I not embarrassed by my lawn, I am actively proud of it. re was very little communication through the process, but our neighbor worked for them so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We had a sprinkler system installed in the late fall and were assured they would help us to set it up and turn it on in the spring but we have been trying to get in touch with them for more than 2 months, the original contact now has a different role and no one can tell us who can help us. They also cut one of the lines while we had some other work done and told us to email as soon as we were ready to have it reconnected. We have no idea if the system ever actually worked and cannot turn it in until we hire someone to reconnect it read more

Worst landscape company ever! My sprinkler system has multiple leaks, my trees are dead because they planted them too deep, there is no weed barrier under the mulch, the sod is lumpy and has a trough everywhere the sprinkler lines run. My entire yard is uneven so the mower, even on the highest setting scalps the grass in numbers places. There is a HUGE ditch running down the middle of my back yard. The elevated berms are nothing but weeds and full of wire and bailing twine, the soil that they hauled in is so bad only the weed will grow. The drip system was set to only but about a 1/4 of the amount of water that the plants and trees need. The land scape boarder is GARBAGE! I could go on. If you select this company don't say you weren't warned. Absolutely the worst! Over 100K down the drain and now we are looking at sinking another 50K into fixing it. read more

We hired Long's Peak to build a new patio/courtyard area for us. The concept we promoted was a modern/mid-century look, as opposed to some of the more rustic/natural designs that are more prevalent in this area. We were extremely happy with the final product. It is incredible. We were also very appreciative of the communication and response times we received during the installation. The design work captured our vision and helped make it happen as closely as possible to our budget. The project manager was available for questions throughout and was on the property to oversee the work, which was top quality. All of the workers were respectful of our property and so kind and friendly. We definitely recommend Long's Peak for any unique projects. read more

I'm sorry, but this company is a mess. They bought the company that used to service my sprinklers, which is how I ended up working with them for the past year, but I'm now going to find someone else. Their scheduling is disorganized (people don't come when they're supposed to and then show up unexpectedly without notice), the billing is confusing (I got an invoice that I could not make heads or tails of, and no one could explain how they came up with the figure I was billed). I have no particular complaints about the workers, but the back office is a circus. read more

After getting a visit for a new garden in the front of our home, our consultant never called us back. We left him 4-5 voicemails asking for a proposal on the new garden for our Niwot home ($10-20k project). We told him we wanted larger, more expensive plants and are happy to pay a higher price. Still no response. Maybe our project is too small for them? He should have just been honest and said they cannot help us. I am surprised our review is only the 2nd on this fine company! We needed to have our backyard landscaped by oct. Of last year, a few months after Moving into the Shadow Grass Development in Longmont. I wanted a riverbed running along our property line, which abuts an open space. We described to Andrew what our budget and plant choices were. He came up with a great plan, adding some plants which he thought would work well. After submitting the plan to the HOA for approval, Andrew supervised the installment of the riverbed in a timely and very professional manner. Craig Smith is a friendly guy who seems to know landscape design well and has great ideas. However, he took over 2 weeks to provide a quote and was slow to respond to phone calls or e-mails. Once we finally got a quote, he then began responding quickly and pushing for a quick agreement to get the deposit in. This may be somewhat common with landscapers during the busy summer season but it was the actual work from Longs Peak that turned us away. I have a few friends that had Longs Peaks do their landscape and ran into several issues such as spotty grass, sprinklers not fully covering grass, shoddy fence work, and need for several minor repairs. The landscaping is okay but plan to deal with a few issues. read more

We love this company! We hired them originally to do a spring cleanup on our yard and to haul off some yard waste. When they were finished the yard looked amazing! We live on a corner double lot with lots of yard to maintain and it was just too hard to keep up with weekly. We've since hired them to do our summer yard care and we have not been disappointed yet. Each crew is courteous, knowledgable and most importantly on time! From the top down the people are great to work with and answer questions promptly. Longs Peak gave us a beautiful design last fall, and planted beautiful trees, shrubs and over 55 perennials. This Spring, everything came up bigger and beautiful! We have had several new neighbors ask us who designed our landscaping, and complimented us on how pretty our yard turned out. They plan on using LPL for their new yards. I had an amazing experience working with the guys of Longs Peak Landscape. I am not one to ordinarily post a review on service, however LPL really came through and provided outstanding quality & service for me in a time of need. I recently had to pack up and move across the country for work, and wanted to rent out my house in a hurry. The only problem was i still had not finished landscaping the backyard after completely ripping it apart the year previously. I called LPL and told them of the time constraints and the large task at hand. Immediately I had a crew over at my house to give me an estimate and customize a step by step plan that worked for me. Within weeks they had turned my backyard that was one huge mud puddle, into a fully landscaped professional looking backyard. This included a full cleanup, a new patio with fire pit, full irrigation system, a rock border with beautiful flagstone walkways, two rock gardens, and a complete sod job. The results surpassed my expectations. After seeing the outcome I was able to ask more for my rental, and make it out of the state with a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Longs Peak Landscape worked with me on a large landscaping project in early fall of 2014. From my perspective this project seemed like a daunting task. In the end, Longs Peak Landscaping made it seem simple from my perspective. We purchased a new construction home on a ¾ acre lot in a new subdivision that had HOA requirements. By the time we moved into the home the "yard" was a combination of dirt, mud and weeds. It was very rewarding working with Longs Peak landscape designer Craig Smith. We spent a lot of time talking about what I envisioned the project. I wanted a variety of trees, shrubs and plants that would blend blooming and non-blooming colors throughout the various season in a setting that complemented our neighborhood and our view of the mountains. I was also interested in transforming our flat yard into an appealing no-flat 3D contoured yard. Craig took this information and came up with a very detailed and appealing design. We iterated on the design several times until it looked like what I wanted. Prior to contacting with Longs Peak, I talked with several other landscaping companies. I rejected those companies in favor of Longs Peak because they did not engage in a discussions to ascertain what was right for my project they lacked professionalism or they were not competent in landscape design. I contracted with Longs Peak to implement the design. The Longs Peak team, including management, foremen, crew and maintenance personnel were incredibly professional and pleasant to talk with. When I had questions they responded quickly. They listened to me and provided opinions without being high pressure. They were usually right in their opinions. When I made adjustments to the plan as the project progressed the Longs Peak team adjusted to my needs. At the end of each day the crew was very considerate about cleaning up their work environment. They worked with me in a phased approached allowing me to manage cash flow. The project was run in three phases across several month. A have been extremely pleased with the work and service that Longs Peak Land provided me. It was a really good experience. They helped transform my yard from dirt to something that is pleasant to look at, has lots of variety and is functional from a family perspective. Of the 25 new houses in the subdivision this landscape is by far superior to the others. I attribute this to Craig and the Long Peak landscaping team. I feel I have a good rapport with Longs Peak Landscaping team. I will continue to use their landscaping services. read more

If you are looking for a landscaping company that listens to its customers, is responsive and returns phone calls, and a company that follows through on their commitments - do not choose Longs Peak Landscape. If you are looking for a company with the skills to provide quality landscaping services, a company that honestly cares about the end result - do not choose Longs Peak Landscape. In April 2011 I hired Longs Peak Landscape to grade, install an irrigation system, lay sod & mulch. Total cost was a little more than $11K. We selected Longs Peak because the owner, Mike DePriest, presented himself and his company as honest, dedicated to performing quality work, responsive, and willing to resolve any concerns that may arise. Unfortunately our experience did not meet his commitment. During the construction phase, LPL severed the phone line to our house. They severed the cable line, which was buried 12" deep and marked. The water main cover was broken into pieces. Work was done in the basement to tap into the main water line; that work was never completed (mounting pipe hangers) or cleaned up. The company made no effort to address or resolve any of these issues. The company installed the wrong variety of sod in the front yard and was unaware of the mistake. They could not verify what type of sod it was; they were just "installing what was loaded on the truck." They didn't care; it was left up to me to call the sod company and confirm it was the wrong type of grass. A neighbors' sprinkler head was destroyed by LPL; they replaced the sprinkler head with a different brand. The replacement head extended about three inches above ground and was destroyed the first time the neighbor mowed his lawn. My neighbor had to purchase and install a new sprinkler head himself. Looking back on the job, my primary concerns are: 1. Communication difficulties during construction. Longs Peak Landscape didn't care about my input or concerns. Every day there was a different person in charge. Frequently there were no English speaking employees on site and communication was impossible. 2. Poor sprinkler coverage. I was assured that sprinkler design was one of the company's strengths. Mike made a commitment that if there were any coverage issues post installation he would address them. Unfortunately there are multiple areas of dead grass in my yard due to insufficient coverage. We overwater many areas to get sufficient water to other areas, and have to water by hand frequently. This costs me time and money. LPL has been unable and unwilling to resolve. 3. Lack of responsiveness. Good luck getting this company to respond to phone calls or e-mails. 4. Grading: The side yard is not a consistent grade and does not drain properly. Grading not completed prior to laying sod. Raking was not completed. The grass is not a consistent grade and water pools up instead of draining properly. 5. Once I paid LPL, they stopped communicating with me. Their primary concern is getting paid, not meeting their commitments or satisfied customers. Find a company that cares about your project, not just about getting paid. Be careful - Longs Peak Landscape has a strong sales pitch, but they can not/will not meet their commitments. read more

Used this service for a couple years. Nothing but trouble for me. They damaged my lawn at least twice without repairing it properly. Busted my sprinkler system and charged me a ton of money to fix it and did terrible job fixing it. The port to blow out the system stuck out of the ground, now its been knocked off and need costly repair again. Beware of this company and it's billing practices. read more

When my elderly mother was no longer capable of shoveling her own drive, I contracted with Longs Peak Landscape to shovel her drive every time it snowed. Since signing the contract, it has snowed twice, and in neither case did this company fulfill their contractual obligation by removing her snow, essentially leaving her housebound. When I complained about their failure, their snow removal supervisor was supposed to contact me so that we might achieve some resolution, but never did. Clearly this is not a company that's interested in customer service or responding to legitimate customre complaints. If you have an elderly relative in the Longmont area, stay away from Longs Peak Landscape, as their snow removal crew will surely leave them stranded. read more

I needed some drainage work done around my house. When they first came out, it was poorly done. I called and complained and after two more attempts, they did a great job at no additional cost. They stand by their work and do try to make it right. You do need to read the contract, because they do not do more than what is written down. read more

I've been using Long's Peak for various lawn services for years, only because it is really hard to find good lawncare for a reasonable price in Boulder County. They send out a sign-up link twice a year so they can get you scheduled and then never call back. I recently requested several services, called them back after three weeks, and was told someone would call me back about my questions. It's been two weeks since then and nary a ring. A few years ago, I called for sprinkler repair and think it was the owner himself who told me, rather rudely, that he was just too busy to help me. You would think a customer of many years would deserve better treatment. I didn't use them for a long time after that but went back because of the difficulty finding good service. Now I just wish I could find someone better or that Longs Peak were able to hire enough people to make customer service a priority. When I speak to someone in the office they're very nice, but they don't respond in a timely manner or, in some cases, at all. read more

Our landscaping project was greatly hampered by unusual weather during 2012. The dry spring prevented germination in planned native grass areas and later, the installed native grass irrigation was not sufficient for the record setting heat of June and July. And, when it did rain, the deluges overflowed drainage swales to erode sand and dirt not held by the intended native grass. Finally, the record setting heat of June and July caused a fungus to turn much of our brand new turf from a lush green to brown. Throughout these troubles, we benefited from the personal support of Mike DePriest (owner of Longs Peak Landscape) and the expertise and customer service orientation of a dozen Longs Peak Landscape professionals. They each responded by identifying and addressing the cause of each problem and only charging for truly new work we asked for in addition to correcting the problems caused by the weather. This fall of 2012 we had significant re-grading and improvements installed. Again, Mike DePriest personally supported our project and his crew of Longs Peak Landscape professionals worked very hard while applying their ample resources (skilled design, technical and installation personnel; heavy equipment; an efficient and effective material supply network; etc.) to achieve the desired results. Although installation of some new turf and native grass has been deferred to March - April, we can easily envision how our final completed professional landscape project will delight the eye with appealing curving, rising & falling landforms and materials (rock, mulch, turf, etc.) and plant and boulder selections and placements. Also, our beautiful landscape will drain naturally with properly sized and functional drainage swales installed by skilled equipment operators. Importantly, our professional landscape design also provides for reasonable and low cost maintenance. Of course, we recommend Longs Peak Landscape to friends and neighbors when they ask us about our beautiful home landscaping. read more

Craig Smith designed a beautiful landscape layout, and worked with us to keep it within our budget while still resulting in the look we wanted. They were very pleasant and easy to work with, and were willing to communicate and respond quickly via phone, email, and text as appropriate. During the actual landscaping and installation of the irrigation system, fence, etc., the supervisors and workers were all very professional and thorough, ensuring the items were being completed with precision, and in the way we desired. They were also conscientious, tidying up each day, and then fully cleaning up and clearing out all of their materials after the project was finished. Our neighbors commented on how professional everyone seemed during the project, and how nice our front and back yards look now. Follow-up has been very good too. Because of our positive experiences in working with Craig, Pat, Mark, Louana, Chris, and all of the others, we have also chosen them for our lawn maintenance providers.
