I had been with thrive fjr years and they were wonderful. When total turf took over they did not show up fir 4 months. When I called they said my account ( prepaid a year) did not show fir service. They then added me and extended the contact to a boy t fir 4 missed months. Then I noticed they stopped showing again this summer ( my contracts ended Ayer I only got bills for '0' due. When I called she said oh your contract is a little different so it did not send out the renewal. They offered to now send me a contract for 2 months as all contracts end in December. When they did come they did not treat all my garden beds and my yard now has weeds again - after about 4 years of no weeks with thrive. I wish thrive was still managing their own company read more

We have been fairly "whelmed" with this lawn care service until our final contracted appointment, which was today. Our initial set-up with our contract was unnecessarily complicated with a customer service rep that was absolutely unwilling to provide an initial aeration, even though it was included in the package we selected, because it was "too late in their aeration schedule." It took considerable arguing to get that aeration, again even though it was explicitly listed in the package we chose, and we still had to pay extra for the single service. Since then, the best part of our handful of treatments has been the weed service. No complaints there. Otherwise, we've seen no difference with the other treatments we've received. That brings us to our final service. The technician arrived far earlier than we expected, which I suppose isn't fair game to complain about, as this company does not provide a time with their service window. Only a date. The technician was FLYING through the service, with very little care for where he was going. We realized after he left that he drove his aeration machine (essentially a riding lawnmower) over our flower beds (ripping out several of my plants), dislodged two of our flagstones, and partially knocked over our fence. Nice! Finally, with this particularly bad treatment, the notification email told us to flag our sprinkler heads. It was our mistake for forgetting to do this (again, he arrived much earlier than we anticipated) but one would imagine that they would at least ask if we had any sprinkler heads before driving the aeration machine over the lawn. Our forgetfulness and this technician's hastiness to finish the job also resulted in one of our sprinkler heads getting a bite taken out of it. It is too bad that this final service left such a sour taste in our mouths. I wouldn't have left a review at all if the technician hadn't been so careless. read more

If I could give them a negative 10, I would. Total Turf was hired to simply remove the fallen leaves from the front yard and back yard, and trim down the ornamental grasses in the backyard. They chopped down everything in our yard including 11 years of growth from flowering bushes that were still blooming. Our landscaping was totally destroyed and looks like a tornado came through and ripped everything out. When we complained to the owner, he did not care. He said that is what they do to clean up yards. It doesn't matter that it wasn't what we requested. We will be lucky if anything comes back next spring. We would NEVER recommend them to read more

If you leave messages in any form, don't expect to get ANY response until the crew shows up to do the work requested. If you aren't using Total Turf for your lawn and snow removal needs, you are missing out on one of the best things you can do for your body, back, and budget. I own two homes one of them being a VERY nice rental with a VERY particular tenant. I needed TTL to handle this property with kid-gloves and they did an excellent job that pleased the tenant. They have been taking care of my needs for years. While I've only thus far, used them for irrigation blow-outs and aeration, I am going to jump on their snow removal services this year. I've had two hand reconstructions and one total knee replacement JUST THIS YEAR and I'm not getting any younger. They offer a service that is inexpensive and done right. I am so excited to have found an honest local company that has stellar service. While it was just a sprinkler blow out they were amazing and realizing that a big freeze was about to happen, actually offered to come out and do a quick fix until a proper blow out could occur over the weekend and they gave you step by step guides and a video to do it ourselves if we weren't free. The steps were amazing and saved us from further damage. Technician was courteous and offered suggestions for springtime from the fact we know we have a leak to solutions for an eyesore in our front yard and possibilities for our backyard. He did not push these ideas on us, but I asked as I do not have a green thumb. Truly just don't feel taken advantage of or swindled which is a first for our family and any technician that comes to our house. We will be calling in the spring! read more

I have never dealt with a lazier service. They use any excuse they can not to work. We have dogs that have to be let out in the morning. Twice now they have used them as an excuse to mow the front and leave. One day I heard them arrive so I brought them back inside, went back to the front only to see them drive away. They didn't ring the doorbell, they did even bother to look in the yard. Don't waste your money. read more

Late last summer my lawn suffered some damage and I contacted Total Turf for suggestions. Jarrod came to the house and outlined a multi-step process to completely renovate it. Most of re-seeded areas germinated well but a few spots did not. Total Turf offers a 30-day followup to insure satisfactory results, but by that time it was too late in the season to do anything further and they suggested waiting until spring. True to their word, they came on May 15th and added additional seed to the small areas where it was needed. I now have a beautiful lawn again! read more

I had a house fire started by my house being struck by lightening in June in 2014. As a result, my sprinkler control box was malfunctioning, but because I was moved out of the house, I was unaware for 2 weeks before I could get the box replaced. In that time, the law nearly died. The insurance would not pay to repair the lawn, but I had to fix it anyway, but I did not to re-sod. Total Turf was one company that was willing to come out and fertilize and re-seed. For a total cost of $200, a little patience, Jarrod came out, did a ton of work, put down several products, raked the really bad areas so the seed had good soil to attach to, then re-seeded. Changed my watering times to what I needed and then I had to be patient. I received time from my HOA because I could not mow for 3 weeks, but now I have a nice lush lawn! I seriously thought my front lawn was lost! I wish I had before and after pictures. It is dramatic! Another company I called would ONLY re-sod, but even a third of the yard was $450. I hired Jarrod to winterized mu sprinklers and do my winter fertilizer as well AND I'll have him out next year taking care of my lawn as well.
