Every interaction with this company is irritating. Every year when it's time to renew our internet plan- they change it without telling us. They typically say "the plan you were on expired and we don't offer it anymore". We're then expected to pay a $20-$50 difference for renewing services. We get charged random charges often. Our bill isn't consistent even though we don't add or make changes. When we ask what's costing us they say it's a prorate charge, or it costs $5 to get rid of unlimited data, or whatever to get more $$$$. Unfortunately they're the only company where we live that will service us so we're stuck. But it's a bad time every time. We never know if we're going to get a normal bill or not. read more

Thursday night, August 28th, there was a lightning strike near our house and our cable went out. I called the help desk on Friday and talked to BJ. He was able to determine that our cable was not working. He turned in a work order. Scott, the technician, came to our house on Saturday and was able to identify the problem immediately. I have been a customer with Longview Cablelynx for over 12 years. The service is mediocre. My room is 20' from the modem and buffered constantly. The quality fades in and out repeatedly. THE WORST OF ALL IS THE CONTRACT RENEWAL!! BEWARE! For the past few years there is little or no warning and your bill will quadruple. Then triple unless you sign up again. There are no credits for the outrageous charges. So even if you resign your still out all the extra expense. read more

Beware!!!!! I canceled my service early because I moved out of the area in November 2021. They immediately turned me into collections! They told me they don't do that till after 90 days, one representative said immediately! Who to believe! Nobody! Then I called paid the entire bill in early January 2022 when I got the collection notice, no bill! Haha joke was one me. As soon as I paid that bill another popped up. Called in about that one and was told I had a credit on my account but couldn't close my account until November when my contract was up. January 2023 called to cancel contract and was told I owed $28.55. Nobody could say what it was for exactly, go figure and there was no credit on my account! Fine I asked for everything owing owing on my account and I paid that! Today I got another bill for $7.42. I called again and talked to a supervisor who got very frustrated with me but I couldn't understand where the $7.42 was coming from. He said it has been on my accounts since January 2022, so when I asked why when I have asked repeatedly to give me the total of what I owe so that this account so that it could be closed I was never given this amount. He response, well I wasn't on the phone with you and the representative, then asked why it never showed on a statement before only after I paid off the last one. Is only response well it shows you owe it. The most inept, group of people and accounting customer service group I have ever seen. I spent 40 years in banking and for me 2+2 always added up to 4 but for these guys it adds up to whatever they want it to be.. read more

I understand the Snow'pocalypse screwed up the grid. I am fine with that. My issue is that for the last few nights the net has gone down. If it was scheduled downtime to fix the system did they warn us? NO. If it was an unscheduled outage did any from their company go onto Facebook or their site to inform people what's going on? NO. When customers who are in the dark cause the company doesn't keep them up to date what's going on calls their call center does the call center work. NO. This is not how a business should handle itself. Keeping your customers informed goes a long way to keep them at least somewhat satisfied. All it would take is someone on their Facebook page to log on and say... "We are aware of an outage effecting the Longview and Tyler area, we are currently assessing the issue and will be working on fixing it shortly. We can not give any estimate at this time but we are working diligently to fix it. Thank you for your patience." But nope... we get a company that's silent and a call system that disconnects calls after 20 seconds. Maybe this is why the company has only one star. read more

Last night after hours I received notification my payment declined. I try to set things up through my checking account directly but their site doesn't work properly and declines your checking account information only to allow a card. So this weekend our bank card information was stolen. The bank canceled our cards. I was hit with a $30 fee from them running my card Monday afternoon and not paying til Tuesday around 8:45am. I attempted to explain and there was no room for them to work with me at all. Their system also still will not accept properly check information so I had to use another card. I am truly astonished that this company somehow stays in business. The customer service is terrible. The speed and quality of service is atrocious. When you ask for a credit for your service being down, you're told that they'll "review the request" and then never hear back. When you call them out for their poor customer service and quality on social media, they block you. The only reason they deserve even an iota of respect is that their onsite technicians are always respectful and efficient. With more companies moving into this area, I can only hope that LKCC either cleans up their act or goes out of business. I am getting another provider to install for me on Monday. I just do not understand how a company is so bad at keeping its internet up and running, can still charge people when they sometimes go up to a week with no help, but they still want you to pay the full amount of your bill. Also, my "contract" with them will be up shortly but since I have no other choice to but to use them again since no one else's service is fast or cheaper. But what really gets me is the PROMOTIONS for NEW service. Don't care if the people that have using them for years still sign up, but lets make them pay more for our wasteful and useless service, since they cannot go anywhere else until Sparklight comes out further than the city limits. SO while I am continuing to use them at over $120 a month with data limits, lets offer new customers $20 per month plus $5 for unlimited data.... That all sounds pretty fair to me..... Giving Clayton a 5 star for his Customer Service to our home. Clayton went above and beyond and got our internet back up pretty quickly after being down for over a week. Granted Clayton was the 3rd tech that came and fixed one out of two of our challenges. Still having an issue with the cable in our bedroom and first tech said it was installed incorrectly. Said a special truck needs to come out and repair the box and we haven't seen this "Special Truck" and now going on two weeks!! Moving from Houston and went to sign up for internet and cable and left only signing up for internet. Their installation fee for cable was $80 for the first tv and $40 each for all others. I've been out of wifi for almost a week now, had a technician come and say there was nothing he can do because the problem is outside. But you guessed it, still have my $120 dollar bill. I don't why Longview cable is getting such bad reviews, I couldn't be happier with my service, they were extremely polite and came out the next morning and had me going within an hour and the bill is cheaper than the DSL I had and 50 times faster. There was no charge for set up or install, I did have my own cable modem, I didn't even have to pay at the time of installation, the bill came about a week later, like I said cheaper than AT&T DSL. Longview/Kilgore cable has some great features. First, there is always a sale. Unless it is an emergency, wait a little while and the price will go down (for a period), then at the end of the promotion it will be a little higher than it should be. In the end, I think it evens out unless you stay with cable a very long time and keep paying the higher price. Internet service is blazingly fast. I get 20Mbps at home with the lowest package, for 29,99 per month plus a 5 dollar modem fee. The problem is that most of the time (but not all), the customer service people are incredibly surly and short on the phone. Charm has no effect. Only the sales staff are consistently a pleasure to deal with. I cannot overstate the rudeness I have gotten on the phone when I am being non-complaining, friendly, receptive, etc... They cut you off, speak in a flat tone, put you on hold for long periods and forget where they were (a break? ).... just rude. Again, this isn't for all, but 3 of 5 calls. The even bigger problem is the service calls. Heaven forbid you have a problem, or want your service installed. I waited three weeks for the install--that was the first date they had; amazing. They understandably give you a time range for these things to happen because they don't know how long previous service calls will take. Unfortunately, they change the time range without notice--like from 8-10 to 3-5--and the policy is that the technician calls you when he is about to head your way. If you miss the call they cancel the order. So don't go to the bathroom. Don't be on another call. You get one chance and it may be days before they will come back. They don't leave a message, so you don't even know the order has been canceled. The biggest problem is, like a moment ago, I called to see if they have changed the time (as they generally do, without notice, regardless of the fact that you have told your employer/spouse/whoever that you have to sit at home for that time period) and learn that the technician called me and I didn't answer.... but that is not true. I have caller ID and NO missed calls. None. So I reschedule. Shoddy service on the ground. Really, really shoddy and callous The technicians are contractors and they get a piece rate. I know they work hard, long hours, and probably don't make as much as they should. But lying? Wow. I'm not irate... this is par for the course. But really, the on the ground service is so poor I opened a Yelp account just to leave a review so anyone who cares to look for a review when deciding their TV/Internet provider is aware. I have had cable TV elsewhere, DirecTV, and DishNetwork, and if you don't have a job, are patient beyond compare, and don't mind paying a little extra, Longview Cable is the way to go for the content it provides and its internet speeds. Otherwise, PASS; you will live a longer, more stress free life, until there is a storm (that blocks satellite signal), or a DSL download takes 10 seconds instead of five and that really ticks you off. read more

My far, the worst internet service I have ever experienced. It's not that the speed isn't there, it's that the speed comes and goes at random intervals. I understand that service may slow when people get off work and there is an increase in traffic. However, I work nights and still experience frustratingly slow speeds even in the wee hours of the morning. Trying to watch Netflix in the media room which my son plays a game online? Impossible. I have contacted the Kilgore office and recently had a technician scheduled to come out the next day. Of course, the next morning the speed was stellar. This has happened repeatedly. I finally managed to contact Cablelynx directly. Their response was to have me check my speed with their speed test site. Once the low speed was confirmed, a technician was again scheduled to come to my home. And once again, the next day the speed was back to a respectable level. Not the advertised speed by far, but improved. After contacting the Kilgore office (again), the representative admitted that they were ordering new equipment to handle a larger capacity. This she assured me would get me "back to the speeds I want". There was no response from her when I told her I wanted the speed I was paying for. Horrible internet service. This company is THE WORST ISP I have ever dealt with. There's no other nominal services out here in Longview, and these people act like it. They answer the phone bored as hell, like I inconvenienced them by purchasing internet from them, and if you ever should need a tech to come out and, say, change your service location, it takes them two friggin weeks to come out at the most inconvenient time for you, and spend an hour piddling around your apartment to tell you they need to run a new wire. So you get the letter, and call them back, they come out and say, "oh no wait, we have to run a completely new wire! Wait for a third party to call you and set it up." Worst ISP I've ever experienced. To pay $60/mo for the extremely horrible speeds that routinely prevent my son from playing Xbox Live, for us to stream a movie, for my other family members to use their laptops or iPads, is very frustrating (all of these things are not done simultaneously). Techs will come out, look at everything, blame it on something at the central office and nothing changes. Rinse & repeat a few days later or on a weekly basis. We will soon be switching to AT&T, which now offers a fiber connection to our house and we'll pay a fraction of the cost for similar speeds L&K Cable TV advertise...I've never seen them here but I'm definitely paying for it. read more

We've had a terrible experience with Longview Cable. Not with quality of the actual services, but just with the billing process and customer service dealing with billing. We started with the cable and Internet package, then decided to get rid of our cable. We called, were told there would be a small conversion fee, and that would be it. Come to find out, our internet alone now costs 75% of what we were originally paying for both cable and internet, yet are still weekly mailed coupons (sometimes multiple times a week) for $19.95/mo for internet, but "we aren't qualified for that offer". Our bill continually changes every month and after more than enough phone calls and visits to their office, they explain that we owed a "small conversion fee" of $63. If the apartments that we live in now enabled us to use another provider, we definitely would. Wouldn't recommend in the future, this has been an extremely frustrating experience. I'm left feeling like we're being taken advantage of simply because of the contract through our apartments. read more

They have an issue on their end that is not even making it to my bank to show they attempted to charge my card but claims by bank declined a payment request. I brought proof to them to show the attempt never made it to the bank and asked them to please look into the failed transaction fee on their end and any attempt to speak I was cut off and talked over. Terrible customer service. Do not trust these thieves with doing the transaction for you because their system will screw up and they will not do anything to help figure out why. Well, things have changed as of yesterday, so I feel obligated to update my review. I noticed yesterday evening that my Internet had not slowed to a crawl by 6pm, as it normally does. I was able to stream a YouTube video and check a couple Facebook notifications on my phone at the same time, without the video buffering. I haven't been able to do that in ages. I ran a few speed tests last night and got a solid 19.5 Mbps each time! I'm getting the same results today (Saturday) - normally Saturdays are slow all afternoon. I checked my modem's config page and noticed that I'm now connecting to 8 downstream channels, rather than 4 channels. It seems like they've implemented a significant upgrade in the last couple days to be able to push more channels. I'm improving my rating to 2 stars. I'm quite satisfied with the service as it is now, but I'm skeptical that it will continue. I also cannot forget about all the troubles I've had in the past. read more
