There is an eating area on the main floor where you can snack while you read. The children's floor has lots of books and a big play area for kids. Lots of neat stuff on the every floors. Very clean and organized. I especially enjoyed the fifth and top floor. There is a terrace where you can sit and there is a garden area where you can look at the plants that are growing. Unfortunately because it was off season and in early September, so nothing was growing at the time. They even have a "Seed Library" where people donate their garden seeds to library. Readers can come up and see what was donated and take a packet of seeds to plant at home. Great idea to spread the wealth of seed planting. This library is within walking distance to restaurants and Regal Movie theatre. Great location for readers to stop by and borrow a book and just enjoy the reading materials they have chosen. I found this library to have many good amenities.

And an entire play area. Not slides and swings, but learning and creativity play area. They can go inside sculptures and spin the wheels to make things glow. So cool! I didn't get to check out too much of the actual library set up, but did notice you can check out Activity Bags, which are bags that have a theme and it looked like books, games, activities, surrounding certain themes for kids. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful in whatever you might need - whether it finding a book, getting something put on hold, or answering general questions. They all are eager to help and support. There are thousands of books to browse through and check out. They really have a robust selection of all the genres that you would be looking for. Because they are a part of the Timberland Library group, it's easy to request a book at any of the many branches in the area and they'll get it delivered here. There is a smaller second floor that houses all of the teen and young adult books. There also is a teen only space up there for book groups and studying. I think it's great to have that genre of books all set up for them like that. In the whole library space, it really works. Best of all (at least for us), is the children's section! It's huge ... and it's walled off so the noise does not travel out to the rest of the library. :-) There is a ginormous selection of children's books and videos here. Additionally, there is play space that has lots of creative toys and traditional toys for the kids to play with. My boys love going here and spending time reading and playing. Plus, they have children's scavenger hunts around the entire library and offer stickers for the little ones who complete the hunt and/or clean up the toy space when they're done! The library also offers several classes or groups in various topics or arenas. Lego Club, Creator/Maker Space Club, Read Aloud/Storytimes, etc. Lots and lots to chose from. Regardless of your age or your book genre preference, the Centralia Timberland Library is the place to be! It is one of our GO-TO places in town!

I like browsing the shelves and seeing staff picks placed on placards next to the book on the shelf. I've read many books that I wouldn't have read otherwise from the recommendations. I've recently started checking audio books and books on Kindle through the Libby app. I love it! I love that they do different events. I've taken my grandkids to family friendly events. Last week I had to check out the current artwork being displayed. I was mesmerized by the Warrior Women Portraits by Danyel Rogers. I received an email that there was an artist reception being put on for her. Many of the subjects of her photographs were in the audience. The reception was nicely done. I hope to make many future events!

There are so many perks that come along with being a library card holder, including access to all Washington country libraries, Libby which provides access to digital & audio books, and annual tickets to local attractions like museums and gardens. On this particular occasion my husband and I decided to walk around the pond/park for about 30 minutes before entering the library. Upon entry we were immediately greeted by a friendly volunteer and we perused the ground floor, looking at the bookshelves before heading upstairs to find a place where we could collaborate on our annual goals. Before finding a spot we encountered a young man who helped us get set up with our library cards. Then we found a place to sit and we got to work. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people utilizing all the library amenities - computers, printers, study rooms and notary service.

This is our local branch and we love it here…read more We participate in their monthly craft event called "Make Anything", where you can pick up a free kit and follow along virtually at home. They always host fun events that adults can participate in! We also take advantage of their board game collection! When you filter by their 3-D objects in their catalog, they have 100s of board games to borrow. You can only borrow 2 at a time but they have recent and interesting games.

As someone who struggles with chronic illness, I came here to do some studying so I can advocate for myself medically. I was able to gather the materials I needed and find a nice quiet spot with a beautiful view of the trees. Outside they had their pride flag flying high and that made me extremely happy to see that they are also very inclusive! The only downside was one child who was screaming on the computer for a good 10 minutes, but he eventually left. Other than that, I truly love the atmosphere here!

Permit me (what I intend to be) a short story: I moved to Woodland at the beginning of 2008 and the library was the only place I could think of that might supply me with a reliable internet connection. So I started spending at least a small part of every day there, making use of their internet and also feeling completely welcome, by one librarian in particular. Linda is rad, folks. She is a no-nonsense lady, but more importantly she is funny and kind and thoughtful and patient. She and Diana and Abbie (and now Blake) make the Woodland Community Library such a wonderful place. They are all exceptional at what they do. The only frustration I find is not with the Woodland Library itself but with the library system they are a part of. I also understand that it's been a rough year for everyone -- libraries included. Library hours are a little inconvenient and the limit of one hour of internet per day is sometimes frustrating as well (for those of us not so fortunate to have a high-speed connection at home). But there are always extra activities going on at this little library. Two different book groups, a few reading groups/activity times for toddlers and a number of fun activities for teenagers -- all owed to Abbie, the fearless librarian who organizes as many extra activities as her schedule will allow.

However I ended…read moreup coming here on a weekday morning to check it out as the Vancouver Mall one was not open till 11AM. The librarian was super helpful and cheerful with my questions and I was pleasantly surprised that the childrens section is significantly bigger than Vancouver Mall and had more space for seating. I saw a decent number of new books and the books were in good condition. I left with a number of books in pristine condition and couldn't be happier with this resource. I'm so glad for the FVRLibraries.
