The Smithtown Library also has three smaller branches (Kings Park, Commack and Nesconset) under it. It has changed quite a bit since I was a kid, but it such a beautiful way. For me it personally it brought back so many fond memories! This Library (And the Kings Park branch) helped opened my world to wonder, curiosity and discovery. EVERYONE should be so lucky!! I recommend "checking out" this public library. You'll be in for a treat.

There's also a community puzzle that people can drop by and work on. There's a third party cafe inside that's quite cute and has its own instagram. I was surprised to learn that the cafe hosts open mic nights! There are also a few private study rooms to reserve, but unfortunately they're only available to people who live in bayport bluepoint specifically. I wouldn't mind this, except when I was told this, all the rooms were open. It would be nice to allow others to use the rooms if they're available, and just prioritize bayport blue point residents, which is what my home library does. Tons of resources: plant seed swap, art crafts, and other offerings to be borrowed. Great community hub

So here's my public service announcement, you can absolutely get a library card regardless of what the librarian might assume or tell you. The adult section has two areas with individual comfortable chairs to sit and read but if you're interested in being able to go and study and spread your books out then this library is not for you, seating for study is extremely limited. There are two very small tables that can accommodate one person which makes it close to impossible to have a lap top out and write at the same time. And if both are taken you are out of luck. Study rooms are just for groups, The original long tables worked great. There are also less computers to use. I'll still be heading to Cutchogue or mattituck to accommodate my needs.

Beautifully landscaped property next to The Old House and historic properties. Interior is bright and airy. Second floor has comfortable seating. If you need wifi you could get it here. Nice place to spend a few hours on a rainy day. They have a small collection of DVD's but carefully selected. No Die Hard 1,2,3, etc. Great selection of foreign movies and tv series. Friendly and helpful staff.

If you are into water it has a nice beach and a couple of marinas you could visit.
