I just called them because we have an unexpected and sudden loss of water pressure in the kitchen sink (all other areas have good water pressure), which seems to me like a leak that needs to be addressed soon. When I spoke to the scheduler, she very casually said, "Oh, we can have someone out on the 13th", which would be over two weeks from now. There was no offer to put us on a wait list. There was no concept that a sudden loss of pressure might be indicative of a larger problem. Out of good will for their previous work, I am leaving four stars, but this was a one star response, and it was extremely disappointing.

Dave came over the next day and we got service at a reasonable price. Dave not only fixed our problem but spent time helping us figure out how to prevent the issue from happening again. He took us step by step through the process and even explained that it's actually pretty normal to have some buildup in the pvc pipes from dripping water lines. This was above and beyond and much appreciated. And we weren't gouged the service. When this happened we were concerned because we have had bad experiences with plumbers in the past. I discovered a flooded basement on a Friday afternoon after a heavy rain that continued for days. Calloway Restoration came out right away and verified the water was flowing in from the sump and the sump pump was not running and all of the emergency 24 hour plumbers were booked through the weekend and I had to stop the rising water and replace the pump ASAP so that we could start removing standing water, carpets and drywall and start drying out with fans before mold set in. Max answered first thing Saturday morning and was sympathetic to my needs even though I was not an existing customer when may people were in dire need for similar situations. He sent Jake out within the hour and he stayed as long as it took to replace my sump pump and evaluate and clean out the discharge line to keep more water from coming in the basement. Jake showed me what to look out for to keep the pump from getting damaged and keep water out of the basement until they could return to complete the work after taking care of the critical repair to get water pumping out of my basement before the next big rainfalls in the forecast. They returned the following week to complete and underground discharge line repair and extension and to clean gravel from the check valve and finish sealing up the sump/radon fan pit and confirmed optimal function of the primary and battery backup sump pump. They helped me out in my time of need and I never felt like they took advantage in any way with fair pricing and prompt and excellent service. I had been looking for a good go to plumber with leas than optimal service from past plumbers and Hofmeyer Max Plumbing definitely fits the bill and will be my go to plumber from here on and I would not hesitate to recommend them to any friends and family and I am grateful that they were recommended to me. Definitely felt taken advantage of, and there was a lack of transparency. They acted like they were doing me a favor to honor the $290 quote. I would not recommend them to anyone. The person comes out, on Monday, and it turns out that the job was bigger than I knew. They had budgeted 1 1/2 hours, but they couldn't stay for the 2-3 hours the job would require, as they had another stop. Okey Dokey. There was also mold up under the sink as a result of the leak. I talked to Peggy (I think), and they could possibly get back to me on Friday or next Monday. Great, that gave me time to get the mold cleaned out. NEVER A CALL BACK. I DID get a bill for $125 for the guy who stopped out and didn't have the time to do the job. I called Hermann, and I recommend that you do as well.

Had a fantastic experience with Halpin's Plumbing today. We called yesterday due to an unpleasant…read moreodor from a drain in our basement. They were able to schedule with us for the very next day. Their plumber Darrell called to let me know when they were on the way and arrived right on time. Darrell asked me what issues we were having, looked around and then said we should start with the FREE sewer scope (we had a valupak coupon) and go from there. They worked inside and outside (in the pouring rain!!) to get as good of an assessment as our pipes would accommodate the camera to go. Thankfully nothing urgent to fix, but Darrell gave several recommendations and options that could help fix the odor problem we are having and advised starting with the most economical. He also advised on potential causes to the water influx in our basement and some of the options for fixing that issue as well. As well as looked at a few plumbing things I may want to do in the future and let me know if they were possible and a rough guesstimated cost. At the end...I wasn't charged a dime. They said the coupon for the free scope covered their visit! Their excellent customer service, professionalism, and sound advise earned my future business as well as my referral to anyone needing a good plumber! Thank you, Halpin's!!

Awful company that lied about the job! Darryl, who worked for them in 2018, did the best he could…read morewith the materials they provided. I had roots growing in my pipes and instead of paying another company $7000 to replace the broken pipe at the elbow that allowed the roots to grow in and cause back-ups, he suggested sewer lining, which is supposed to cover all the cracks in old pipes. The quote was $4500 to line 30 feet from the basement out to the end of the yard. There was no mention that the liner can't cover pipe elbows! It was nothing but a disaster! When Darryl attempted to do the job, the 1st thing to happen was the liner got stuck in the pipe, under the basement floor! He had to break open the floor cement to pull it out! He was forced to replace that pipe and redo the floor cement! Then it happened 2 more times! It turned out my pipes were 4 inches and they only had 6 inch liners. Halpin refused to get 4 inch liners! Finally after weeks later, getting the liner in place and supposedly the job was done, my pipes continued to have issues of a back-up on the basement floor! In the meantime, Darryl left the company! I can only imagine why! Each time this happened, I called to complain and they came out and said I had root problems and snaked it to clear it! Each time I asked why I had roots after they lined the pipe, they claimed they told me the liner could not line in an elbow and that's where the roots were! I argued with them that I was never told that but they claimed it was my problem and not under warranty anymore! I told them that from the beginning, I knew the roots were in the elbow and that's what the original job was supposed to fix! I knew because the other company showed me on the video during their $7000 quote! Darryl never told me that the liner would not cover the elbow even though I made a point of telling him that's where the problem was! There's nothing in my quote, either! It says a full 30 feet will be lined! The last guy that came tried to charge me to snake it and I refused! He said he wouldn't charge me that time but anytime in the future, they would! That's 5 yrs ago! I've had back-ups, twice a year since! I've had to call a different plumber each time (Because I refuse to give Halpin another dime) and for the last year have been getting root killer to help! AS A RESULT, ALL PAPER HAS TO BE PUT IN THE TRASH CAN! CAN YOU IMAGINE ALL YOUR DIRTY TOILET PAPER ALWAYS IN THE TRASH!? IT HAPPENED AGAIN YESTURDAY BECAUSE MY 11 YR OLD GRANDSON FORGOT AND PUT PAPER IN THE TOILET AND THAT FAST, IT CAUSED A BACK-UP! I'M NOW 67 YRS OLD AND HAVE TO DEAL WITH POOP BACKING UP ON THE BASEMENT FLOOR, AGAIN! ALL BECAUSE HALPIN PLUMBING RIPPED ME OFF FOR $4500 TO LINE MY SEWER, BUT DIDN'T LINE THE PART I CALLED THEM ABOUT IN THE 1ST PLACE AND THEY DIDN'T TELL ME TILL IT WAS TOO LATE AND OUT OF WARRANTY! IT'S LIKE I NEVER HAD THE JOB DONE! I HAVE THE SAME ISSUES I HAD BEFORE THEY CAME AND WASTED $4500! AND NOW I CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE THE JOB DONE RIGHT! DARE I SAY, HALPIN IS A SHITTY COMPANY!
