Very honest good people here don't waste your time with these big name companies they just want your money. I went to Discount Tire (place 4 tires were purchased) they said nothing wrong even though my two front tires were leaking air every morning I was told the wheels were old and that was the problem the next morning low air again so i called Lonnies talked to Val explained sitch she told me to bring in vehicle so we did they found a nail in one tire and said wheels were fine & checked other tires no issues...pressure has been good ever since. Ironically, I was referred here by another tire repair shop in town, and, as usual, I come to Yelp to read reviews and comments before I decide to give any place a try. After receiving first class and prompt customer service, I decided to leave a worthy but legible review. The place is small and can be missed as you drive down 24 highway in Independence. I believe this may be Eastern Jackson County's best kept tire repair secret. It exudes small town charm and appeal. The only thing that could make this place better would be an adjacent burger joint to go with it. You may in fact still be waiting for your burger to be served by the time they have fixed your flat tire because they are indeed that fast. If you are a customer such as moi who has an inquisitive mind and likes to know the facts about tires, the manager (not sure if he is the owner) is kind enough to explain things to you in a very clear and concise manner. He actually showed me a sample tire tread to convey the inner workings of a tire tread. Be forewarned however, this is a cash only place, part of the small charm appeal, but also their way of keeping cost for their customers reasonable. I am the sort of person who happens to have magnetic strips on my tires, so I am sure I will be back again someday. read more

I noticed that my tire had a bad leak, so I called Lonnie's to make sure there wasn't a long wait for a repair; they picked up the phone almost immediately to tell me they could fix my tire right then. I was extremely impressed by the quality of their work, their low prices, and especially their customer service. If anyone needs new tires, or just a flat repaired, I highly recommend Lonnie's tires in Independence. They are old school, they use the jacks 2-3 workers work on your car, you pull in tell them what you want there on it. I was maybe there 20 -30 min tops. I just can't say enough of how great they are . And it was $300 cheaper than other places. And I love that I am supporting a local family owned business. The best experience. read more

Lonnie's is the best tire repair shop in the metro! We took our ATV tire in with a 3/4 inch gash and they were able to repair it. No guarantees but here we are a month later and it's still holding air no issues. I'm back again, this time with a slow leak in my vehicle tire. I see all these reviews saying how professional this place is. I disagree. I asked my son to take my truck to get new tires mounted while I was out of the country and he brought it to Lonnies. This was sometime in December or January if I recall. The other day I rotated the tires and found two lug nuts on the left rear wheel cross threaded. One of the was not even tight to the wheel. Removing them broke two lug studs off. These wheels were custom 20" wheels with 35x12.5's. Every lug nut was too tight, not properly torqued. They were probably put on with an impact instead of being torqued with a torque wrench. Lug nuts that are torqued too tight stretch lug studs too much and they could break while driving. I decided to take the cautious route and replace all of the lug studs. Beware of this place, bad things can happen when mechanics don't know what they are doing. read more

We had a tire go bad and found some on Facebook marketplace and the gentleman we bought them recommended Lonnie's to get it mounted and balanced. We went in on a Sunday when most places are closed. This place was booming!! I think we saw 5 or 6 people come in while we were there. Someone met us in the driveway, addressed our problem, and said to give them 15 minutes. It didn't even take that long! They even put the tire back on for us and helped my husband put the spare back under our truck. We were expecting it cost a lot, because it was a Sunday. We were wrong! 2018, Starting with 3 flat tires on hubby truck. He went got 1 tires patch and the other 3 checked and filled then came home yesterday . 5 hours later we had one flat tires just sitting in the driveway. This morning he has 3 flat tires including the one it supposed to be fixed. I used to like Lonnie's Tire Service Inc. in Independence. Locate on 24 hwy, just east of William Chrisman High school. Right now we are not very happy with them. Negative 11 degree outside and airing tires is just stupid after you already paid a tires services to do the job. Update: 1-1-2018 10 am Hubby came back from Lonnie's Tire Services. They refused to fix the tires and got cuss out. Lonnie's said is because the tires has TPS stems system from GM, they can't fix and they didn't F#%K them up yesterday. They are not going to fix because they don't know and can't fix. So my problem is.... When you take the tires off his truck the first time and see it has the TPS stems, why are you trying to fix the tire. Should just let him know if is not something you are custom to do. But they jack with it and screw it ALL up. Now and say " We didn't F#$KING do it. I don't know what kinda a shown they are running. We called 9/6 to see if 2 tires were in stock, was advised yes. We got there and they only had one in stock. Returned 11/3 was advised tire shows in stock but when they went to pull it they couldn't find any. This is the second time we have gone and been told sure, they advise they will order Monday, to call first to be sure they are in. How can I be sure they are in? Inventory shows one number you get there they can't find them. So if this was a problem in September and not fixed, and now in November will it be fixed by the time I call on Monday? read more

Not only did they come in $200 under anyplace else for comparable tires, they were efficient (getting me out in 30 minutes!). Lonnie's Tire Service saved my sanity. Two days before returning to school, I had to jump a curb to avoid an idiot driver; I ended up bending a rim and flattening a tire on a relatively new car. Ever try getting a new rim for a Nissan after 5 p.m. on a Saturday? I experienced no joy until I contacted Lonnie's Tire Service on Sunday: the shop couldn't help with a new rim, but two employees literally beat the bent rim back into shape. The tire was then checked, refilled, and put back on the car. The rim wasn't perfect, but the repair allowed me that week to settle back into work and arrange for a new rim on a day and time that worked for me. The cost of the repair was the next surprise--extremely reasonable for the amount of work done and, like others have mentioned, I was treated very kindly. Bless this business! We came to this shop from out of town, just found it on google. They seemed busy but within 5 minutes of pulling up they had my car jacked up checking out each tire to see which one was causing us vibration! Found the tire, showed us one they had for a very cheap price, and had it changed out in no time! I was very impressed with their honesty and low prices!
