By the time we returned, the damage was extensive and far beyond normal wear and tear. When you hire a property management company, you expect regular oversight, accountability, and protection of your investment--especially when you are out of the country and unable to monitor things yourself. Stars and Stripes did not meet those responsibilities. The experience was unethical, dishonest, unprofessional, and completely disorganized from day one. I originally chose this company because I'm a U.S. military veteran, and their name suggested values like integrity, accountability, and respect. That assumption turned out to be meaningless. There was absolutely nothing about how this company operates that reflects those principles. The problems were endless: · I did NOT receive required tax documents (1099s) by January 31st, which is unacceptable and caused unnecessary stress and follow-up on my end. · I was charged excessively high procurement fees, yet the tenants they placed paid late and/or in installments, completely defeating the purpose of those fees. · They charged both pet fees AND pet deposits, which felt excessive and poorly explained. · I was explicitly told there would be no cleaning fee, only to be hit with one at the last minute anyway -- and to make it worse, the cleaning job was so poorly done it had to be redone. · Despite all these fees, the property was still returned with tenant-caused damage that was not adequately addressed. · I was overcharged the management fee, caught it myself, and then had to go back and forth with them just to get my own money returned. The lack of organization and oversight was astonishing. Records were sloppy, explanations changed depending on who you spoke to, and there was zero accountability. I felt like I had to audit every statement just to protect myself. This company does not operate with transparency or professionalism, and as a homeowner, I felt consistently misled and nickel-and-dimed while receiving subpar service at best. I would not recommend Stars and Stripes Homes, Inc. to my worst enemy. If you value your property, your finances, or your sanity, stay far away. There are far better -- and far more ethical -- property management companies in Colorado!

The inside of this unit is completely remodeled and just beautiful! It is a very quiet community within these two buildings. I am pretty sensitive to loud noises and you can't hear a thing if the windows are closed. The railroad tracks close to my unit are rarely used and when they are it is a slow transport for moving the locomotive, I rather enjoyed hearing the occasional train. The management company is responsive and helpful but like any good renter, we have to do our part too. I'm grateful for the time I was able to enjoy this Brighton property and would rent from them again

As soon as we moved in we were told that this place was "newly renovated". That is a lie. They just paint over the walls and rent it out to the next person. On our door we had a "misfits" sticker that wasn't taken off. The apartment wasn't even cleaned the day we moved in. The A/C didn't work ( which doesn't cool the house at all btw) and we had a broken dishwasher for the first 3 months of living there. We had a window that was broken, fridge with no drawers, and cabinets that had so much water damage. We also had people come to look at our house without any notice whatsoever. No email or flyer on our door. They wouldn't answer my calls either. Deerwoods response was "we thought we let you know". That made us feel like our personal space was invaded and no one cared. Every time I made a maintenance request it took forever for someone to come out and most of the time it wasn't properly fixed. 2 months before we moved out the ceiling caved in with water and soon became moldy. They covered it up and called it good. We had to move out early and STILL PAY RENT!!! We were afraid we'd get sick. Not good living conditions. But they don't care, all they want is your money! The list could go on.. This place never felt like home. Deerwoods management is a waste of your money. Don't rent from them! I consider myself very nice and understanding but this place was downright awful!!! I would love if the owner or manager could contact me. I don't want to ever talk to anyone in the office again; as they avoided me and are so rude. I plan on taking deerwoods to court.
