I had to bring in my cat who'd had some throat problems. It was busy when I arrived and I can understand why. What a wonderful group! My cat was very nervous and had peed in his carrier and the assistants were so sweet about the mess. They went above and beyond in cleaning up the carrier and him. The doctor was marvelous! He examined him thoroughly and gave me an excellent treatment plan. He was really clear regarding instructions and findings. The ladies at the front were so very nice in addition. You really get the feeling that they are not there for your wallet. I wouldn't hesitate to book an appointment at this excellent facility. read more

Horrible experience & won't be going back! Our dachshund woke up one morning not being able to use his back legs. We've had a dachshund before him go through this exact thing, so we knew it was a slipped disk. Dr. Dori saw him & her bedside manner is horrible! She did some 'pain test' on his paws & he wasn't reacting. My husband & I could see in his eyes that he was in pain & we told her he's different...he shows fear or pain through his eyes. At the end of the appt, she said it's the worst case of IVDD that she's seen in 5 years & he could probably never walk again. 10 days later we go back for a follow up & she's shocked that he's using his back legs & walking. An assistant came to the room to get him & he tried biting her twice...which is not like him!! He's never done that to anyone! This proved what we tried telling her about him feeling the pain the first visit, but she didn't want to listen. He remembered the first experience! After the second appt, they forgot to charge us...for doing absolutely nothing...so they called asking for payment. I told them in email I'd be in to get the pet chiro authorization form that Dr. Dori said she'd sign & pay at that time & asked them to have it ready. Went in this week to get it & waited 30 minutes for it because they couldn't find it. Horrible customer service, horrible bedside manner, & a dirty place overall! Some vets say they treat exotics but then do not have the actual experience or knowledge required to provide good care - this was NOT my experience here, they were able to fully examine and treat my animals with current best practices. They have taken care of my dogs for years with excellent preventative care, neurological care, dental care, and surgery. They communicate well, we get lab results via text, calls, and can even text photos and info to the front desk to communicate as needed. This vet tried to tell me my dog gained weight and needed to charge more for a procedure when I had cut her food intake and they also said they never had their scale calibrated to make sure its still accurate....to many elderly I. There might not realize this place is taking advantage of people and it should be a crime to conduct business with equipment that you're not even sure works properly because its never been checked. I took my dog in because she had been limping. They asked me to leave my dog at the clinic. I had to call hours later to get someone to finally look at her. The vet was clearly annoyed and very impatient with me. He told me my dog needed a $5000. surgery. I paid the almost $500 bill and received no report, no further information except that they don't do the surgery there and there are several other places that do. The last few times I have been to this clinic it has been the same kind of attitude. The clinic used to provide more caring and informative service. I would not recommend this clinic for anyone who needs pet care beyond basic vaccinations. read more

My cat was sneezing, I blamed it on the Sahara Sands but over the July 4th weekend my cat got worse. Kitty didn't leave the bedroom and I never saw her go to the water bowl and she turned down food,!(very very NOT NORMAL, she's an eating machine) Called 494 because they are always the one I go to if one of my fur babies is sick. Nona said I would have to wait at least 2 hours because after a holiday weekend, the clinic was packed. I hung up and thought about what to do. This stressed me out. There are 3 other vets in my area but I haven't heard awesome things about any of them. I decided to risk the wait and packed Clementine in the car, stressing the whole way there. I drove up (forgot my COVID mask) and waited in the car. The parking lot was busy with vehicles so I was prepared to wait. I called the front office and waited....for about 30 minutes. That's all, 30 minutes! A vet tech came to my car, picked up my cat and took her in. A few moments later another tech called, told me what they'd determined and asked if I would allow an antibiotic treatment. Since I'd forgotten my mask, one of the techs brought me one so that I could go pay. Dr Bobby told me what her fever was, the course of treatment and that he had gotten her to eat! Bing, bang, boom I got in, my pet was treated and was out of there in less than an hour. Over all I can not say enough great things about the Clinic! They are the best! read more

They are good people, but are also poor on respect for clients' and their pets' time. It is not unusual to wait over an hour because they overbook, and spend time on too much chit chat. It's arrogant to think you can do that to people when there are many other, fine clinics in the area. They are also on an extremely busy Loop 494 that will be more so after the road work is completed. The clinic is right up to this road, and is basically tiny and cramped; the parking lot is barely there. The owner should have moved to a better, safer location and built an excellent clinic and boarding facility long ago. Yes, they are good people, but the clinic I switched to treats us and our babies and time much better. Sadly, because I do like them, I cannot recommend Loop 494. read more

I have only had very good service for my pets. The staff are wonderful and the doctors are great.

My wife brought our bearded dragon (Rex) to them to get checked out since we just got him and while he seemed fine he hadn't pooped much. Typical new owner paranoia stuff. So they give him an enema, bring him home, and immediately we know something is wrong. They said it was an aneurysm and its common in these guys. So my wife asks what to do, they say its terminal, and he might last a day or six months. My wife is ready to have him put to sleep to save him more pain but the doc insists we should wait and see. So the next day this little guy was obviously in serious agony so we take him back. The blue hair girl at the front desk could not care less about the situation. She ignores my wife then abruptly takes the animal from her to put him all alone in a box on a shelf in the back. Think about that. The little guy is foaming at the mouth, bleeding out, and she stocks him on a shelf like a can of beans. So finally a good doc comes and tends to him, is very nice, and he gets put down. Don't know his name, but he was an alright dude, he also assures my wife the blue haired girl is "on her way out". Well we go back after the weekend to pick up his body so we bury him and guess who is still there... you guessed it. So we talk to another doc there, the same one who said this aneurysm thing was pretty common in beardies. Oh and by the way I find it pretty odd that this fat happy healthy beardy spends a few minutes with these people and suffers an agonizing death. This lady tells us the girl at the desk answering phones and dealing with people is on the spectrum. Well guess what? ME TOO but I can treat people like people and suffering animals with some level of decency. That girl couldn't have cared less about my wife and children crying over this little lizard suffering and dying, which is fine, but it showed and made the problem worse. Veterinarian clinics shouldn't be hiring people who don't give a crap about animals and people. Every time I think about this it pisses me off to no end and I bet that same girl is still there to this day. read more

I adopted my precious baby December 26th 2019. She was 12 weeks old. She is a Lionhead rabbit (exotic pet) and the only vets that would see her were the group at 494 animal hospital. They are awesome! Cinnabun just turned 4 in September. She was spayed there and has recently had her molars filed. The care was wonderful and they love my bunny almost as much as I do. She is a very mean rabbit at home but she behaves for them! I highly recommend the vets and the staff there! read more

While I really liked them when we first started using them, this vet clinic has gotten too busy to care for ordinary animals. They are so excited to see exotics come in, but dogs seem to get a "meh" response. It's impossible to get a quick appointment, so any health issue might go too long without treatment and become an emergency and they don't take emergencies of the dog variety. I won't be back. Absolutely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! We have a 3 year old cat that has gone through some serious medical issues this past week and we knew she was declining and on the verge of passing away. She hasn't eaten in over a week and drinking very minimal water. We called and got pricing then showed up to have her put to sleep. We love this cat more than anything and I knew what was wrong.. (I use to be a vet tech) we were told she wouldn't do the euthanasia but instead wasted our money with bloodwork and told us to go home. We got the call this morning that our cats kidneys are shutting down just as I expected and now because she made us waste money on bloodwork we are tapped out money wise on having her put down. She stayed up all night hurting and Dr. Dori did nothing to help. I have never had an experience like this at a veterinary office before! Don't waste your time or money here. I'm so heartbroken over this whole situation. read more

Amazing place! Took in my rabbit for an exam as I thought he had an ear infection. The staff there was very professional, and Dr. Mary is very knowledgeable and kind, and truly cares for your animal. She will talk you through everything and will answer any of your questions and concerns. The staff is also very transparent with their costs and fees, printing out a detailed receipt so you know exactly what you're paying for. The doctor also said she would send a prescription if my rabbits symptoms continued, and to just call, saving me money as I would not have to pay for another exam! I have no idea why there are bad reviews on this place, perhaps an older staff or supervisor was there? I recommended Dr. Mary and this office 10/10. Wouldn't go anywhere else for my pets needs! I never leave bad reviews but wish I would have known earlier...so I feel obligated to leave one. I would not recommend Dr. Dori at 494, at least for cats. Their clinic is very small with very few examining rooms and very busy adding to a rushed overwhelmed atmosphere which I feel can also add to vet errors. read more
