I like sweet, but they are quite heavy with the sweetness so I like to tone it down just a tad. I'm a sucker for their brown sugar milk tea, but their Thai iced tea and taro flavors are good too. I was in recently and they had a strawberry banana flavor that sounded delicious but the call of the brown sugar milk tea was too strong. Next time perhaps! The tapioca pearls themselves are great. I've had some bad ones before, but never here. They are the perfect texture and they taste great. They're also usually a little warm which I love! So fresh. The cheese foam is good too if you're feeling adventurous. I follow them on instagram and they always have special festive drinks that lure me in as well, so there's always something new to try! I feel like every time I come here, the decor changes a little. What was once one of those grassy, photo op walls that you see in every trendy place is an interesting Pikachu-inspired mural. They also sell shirts, little trinkets, and stuffed animals as well. I guess the name of the place is derived from cha which means tea in Chinese and Daruma who is a founder of zen Buddhism. They have a mascot who looks like Buddha holding a bubble tea. I ended up ordering black milk tea with boba and taiwanese popcorn chicken with seaweed and salt/pepper. Tea came out right away and was pretty good. Good tea flavor but maybe a bit too sweet. Boba is home made and its nice and chewy and no inconsistency. I would do 75% sugar and less ice next time for my liking. Taiwanese popcorn chicken was juicy and flavorful. We also got lucky with seating so we sat down to enjoy their food and drink. Service was good and no issues. Overall the place is pretty good. I think everything was good quality and definitely one of the better tea/fried chicken place around RI. I originally stopped in while on my quest to find Rhode Island's Best Iced Coffee and ended up staying much longer than planned. From the moment I walked in, the space felt warm, welcoming and full of community. There are plenty of comfortable places to sit whether you're catching up with friends, getting some work done or simply relaxing with a great cup of coffee. They even have games, puzzles and coloring supplies, plus a calendar full of fun weekly events like mah jong and craft nights. I had the pleasure of chatting with owner Stella and barista Kate, who were both incredibly friendly and passionate about what they're creating. I also learned they source their beans from a local roaster, and you can absolutely taste the difference. I kept my iced coffee simple with just whole milk, and it was smooth, flavorful and exactly what a great iced coffee should be. I also loved the local artwork displayed throughout the shop, which adds even more personality to an already charming space. There's plenty of parking, a fun coastal theme and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger awhile.
