We asked to sit outside and were stunned by the epic views of the docks that they have. It truly was a breathtaking sight. My only gripe was that it wasn't as shaded (either naturally or by awnings) as I thought it would be which made for a warm experience. However, the staff were great about accommodating any requests to move with some of the available tables they did have. Also, though no fault of their own I kept getting some septic smells in the breeze. It was faint and not all the time but definitely not something you want while having lunch- hopefully whichever business owner or home owner having that issue can get that cleared up. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive but not overbearing, and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the fish and chips. Our food came out quickly and everything looked good! Their mango coleslaw is unique but tasty. The fish was nice and flaky with a crispy batter. I found it to be a little greasy but nothing too worrying. Overall, a great meal to have by the water. I think Wickford on the Water is a great spot and one that anyone should try when they take a trip down to North Kingstown!

Although there were some highlights - like the coconut rice, I had the toastie. It was good but it was supposed to have ham and it it had one full piece of ham I would have been surprised. I just wanted more, more whipped feta, more ham, just a normal sandwich. i was disappointed. my husband had the chicken street corn meal. the rice was amazing but i would have liked more street corn, another ok but could gave been better meal. so overall MEH

The…read morefirst type of tea arrived within minutes and not long after was brought the trays of snackages. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the fact that most everyone was appropriately dressed for a tea time experience. The big highlights for me were desserts and scone. The scones were warm and not at all dry. My only critique was that the chicken salad sandwich had far too much bread, could barely taste any of the filling. Desserts for the day were a Salted caramel bon bon, Strawberry frosted Donut macaron, and Lemon cheesecake petit four. Everything tasted excellent (except the lacking chicken salad sandwich) and was well prepared. I thought the experience was well worth the money, definitely recommend. It would be nice if they offered a selection of teas to buy and take home.

We came to celebrate my birthday, so they lit a candle for us which was cute and appreciated! The menu is posted online in advance, so you know what you're getting. I enjoy eating many different things in small bite-sized portions and I thought all of the food tasted good. The portion is a full meal, albeit it's mostly carbs and sugar. That would be my one critique--it's a bit too sweet and there weren't enough savories. Price-wise, it was $50 per person. I really like that the price is inclusive of taxes, service, and tips. The photos show food at $100 for two people. It was filling, but a very sugary filling. The decor is cute, but some details could have been better. For example, the tea cake tower is black and modern-looking and honestly, not cute or matching. Some light piano music softly playing in the background would have been nice. The customer service is fine. We did street parking and while we came at a rather odd time, we still got a bit of traffic due to construction. Overall, I really enjoyed tea time at Sweet Marie's and would consider coming here again for a special occasion!

I originally parked in the small lot on the right (when facing the building) and it was a very tight squeezed, but then realized there was a much larger parking lot on the other side, so I moved over there. It's been a while since I've visited The Inside Scoop. The last time I remember going, you went inside and ordered the ice cream. I'm not sure when they switched to the window, but I found it to be much more convenient than many people being squished inside a small space to order. There were lots of choices of ice cream to try, but I ultimately picked blueberry pie in a sugar cone. It was delicious. My mom picked peppermint (her favorite flavor) and was very happy with how many chunks of candy were in it. The employee that took our order was very friendly and seemed to scoop our ice cream well. Overall, The Inside Scoop is a must-try ice cream spot in this area.

The heatwave was doing its thing, but luckily there's a good amount of shade in front of the building as you wait to be served. There's a tiny parking lot to the right of the boldly painted building, but an even bigger one to the left. If you have a larger vehicle, I recommend parking in the left lot. Plenty of space for you there! The young woman at the counter was super peppy and was excited to scoop me her favorite, black raspberry Oreo, on special that week. I grabbed extra napkins because the humidity outside was already working against me. I walked over to the seating area on the side and got to work quickly before nature won. The black raspberry ice cream was cool and creamy, great raspberry flavor without tasting artificial as some do. The oreos adding some chocolatey richness to the experience. It felt indulgent and refreshing. I basically inhaled it so I wouldn't wear it but every bite was fantastic. Inside Scoop has been there for ages, and for good reason. Next time you're in North Kingstown, swing by and try it out for yourself!

Double feature review for both the bar and coffeeshop ~…read more Bar: came on a Friday evening in August and it was veryyy quiet. Was told this is the norm in the summer and they were closing at 9pm (vs usual 11pm) because of it, which seemed fair. The bartender was very friendly and my hot n dirty vodka martini (olive and banana pepper juice) was delicious and well worth the $12 price tag. I cozied up on a leather chair with my book and enjoyed my time there. A few others trickled in but it stayed quiet. The bar stools were also extremely comfy. Coffeeshop: the next morning (Saturday around 10) I came in with my toddler for coffee and food. She was on a mission and there was lots for her to explore. Wish there was a gate or some sort of deterrant between the main area and the kitchen. I had a specialty coffee (chai, toffee syrup, espresso) and while yummy, a bit pricey. The same goes for my lox bagel (jalapeno). I also don't like that everything is served in disposable cups and plates. Go green! Service was okay - not very personable but I guess being busy can do that. If just reviewing the bar, I'd give full marks but the coffeeshop wasn't quite as a home run. Will absolutely come back, though! Outdoor area seems nice, too.

Drinks tend to run on the…read morepricier side - I paid $10 for a Shipyard pumpkin beer in a glass bottle last fall, which felt a little crazy. They now have a $10 cocktail specials menu, but every time I or my friends have ordered off it, the item we want has an ingredient that's out of stock, and they have to substitute it for something else. Seems like they run into inventory issues? Service at the bar can take quite a while. There's only ever one bartender working, even on busy trivia nights, and I hate having to awkwardly stand at the end of the bar waiting to be served, and then waiting for my drink. The girl that's usually there is a sweetie pie and so helpful, but they really need to have more than one bartender at a time. The fact that the cafe coffee shop part isn't open when the bar part is is just a missed opportunity. I'd order their latte specials at 7 pm on a Thursday over and over, but you can't. They also don't have any food options except some super snacky light bites at night when the bar is open - missed money opportunity, people would get baked goods and sandwiches etc later at night! The furniture is pretty comfy and coffee shop like, but the low back and cushion placement on the couch is so uncomfortable to me, and the large soft chairs are way too deep so I can't either sit forward or comfortably sit back without my feet sticking in the air. Just very awkward furniture. I'd like to come during the coffee shop hours to try a latte since their specials always sound fun and are seasonal, but their set up just annoys me - I want to get a latte and then a cocktail 30 minutes later on the same visit, not have to come at the exact right time of day. There's room for improvement for sure. I also wish their trivia was displayed on a screen as it can be very loud and hard to understand the questions when they are only spoken verbally. Easy location off a main road, and the bathrooms are always very clean and well stocked.
