    Riverside Laundromat

Anyone who vacations in, or has a seasonal home (without washer/dryer) in the Jay/Wilmington area…read moreknows that there wasn't much in the way of laundry services here unless you wanted to go down to the river and beat your stuff on a rock. Until Riverside Laundromat showed up. First, this place is adorable- wood walls, nice lighting, and CLEAN. Things that might be important to you: They have wifi. Password is on the wall by the change machine. They have a change machine. They also use a card system that can be paid for with cash or credit card. It appears, though, that the machines work with credit card too so I'm not sure of the benefit of their card. I got one anyway. They have two machines that dispense single serve detergent if you need. 6 chairs for waiting. They have a bathroom. 4 laundry carts. A couple surfaces for folding. The price- There are two different sets of washers and dryers- big and small. For the big machine- $5.75 for a "normal" 22 minute cycle- price goes up if you change the temp, choose heavy duty, etc. $3.50 for a smaller machine. I used the larger because I didn't notice the smaller (face palm). The huge dryers are .25 for four minutes. They are nice huge dryers though- could fit a sleeping bag if ya need. Which reminds me, shoulda brought mine. Dang it. The smaller dryers are .25 for five minutes. The only thing that was a bugger using their card is that I chose 30 minutes to dry and had to stand there and swipe their card 6 times because it was only doing 25 cents at a time. They do have a pickup service but you have to call because it wasn't attended when I came by. Excellent place. Beats toting dirty clothes back home!

Two hours & $16 later our laundry is clean, dry & folded! Awesome! I'm not even sure if it was more expensive than it would have been to do it ourselves, especially having to buy detergent. The gentleman working was great! Friendly & efficient!

I did it just to prove he was wrong: theyre ruined!! not to mention if you use any of the new machines there is virtually NO water going into the wash and clothes have so much soap if you go home and rinse them in the sink soap suds comes out! if you're lucky enough to come in the winter, you'll be able to have your laundry smell like fried fish when they cook their lunch there. I'm passing through and needed to do some laundry…read more After reviewing Yelp reviews, I chose Clothes Quarters. They didn't disappoint. The machines are newer, and they have a *gasp* actual human present should anything go awry. The last time I used a laundromat when traveling the washing machine wouldn't open to let me get my clothes. There wasn't anyone on premises, and the phone number posted was worthless. I was told I would have to wait hours before a technician could get there. Trust me, if you're traveling, and need to wash some clothes, you couldn't find a better place. I don't use a laundromat at home, but if I lived here and needed to do laundry this place would absolutely be my choice.

Clothes Quarters does accept quarters. They also use an app and while I appreciate "winning the jackpot" as I convert at $10 to quarters, I'd much rather use an app so that I'm not filling my coin holder with extra coins. The app was easy to register and use on the washer but they don't use it for dryers. I though I was stuck losing $15 in credit. Not to worry - I sent an email inside the app requesting a refund and it was processed within a day or two. The laundromat is clean and tidy. There is free wifi and there are places to sit while you watch your clothes go round and round. They do sell detergent but I had stopped at the Dollar Tree up the street for a big bottle. All of the machines I used worked fine and there was enough space to fold my clean clothes and then I was on my way. [Review 17842 overall - 36 in Vermont - 1363 of 2022.]
