Well things just got better from there ... the instructors are professional and accomplished giving great instruction and kind critique The dance environment is warm friendly no egos no attitude my daughter felt like she was dancing there for years !!

I danced at June Claire for about 11 years, as my years progressed the treatment of the "different…read moresized" student dancers continued to get worse. They continue to use the same outdated logic of looking a certain way for a part. Now any teacher that will read this comment will of course deny the fact, but another student and I were body shamed in a class full of students by the head of the school. If you want to be a great dancer taught by professionals sure, go to June Claire. But if you want to be treated equally and be accepted for your differences and flaws, it is not the place for you. They also had no hesitation to accuse my father he was on drugs because he approached the issue of his own daughter being verbally abused. This school tore apart my friendships and personal connections, and not to mention turned positive feelings of self image to constant negative thoughts. I left the school two years ago and I am still recovering from it.

Over the years we've seen some incredible performances over the year, from Vic DiBitetto - Tara Cannistraci, Christmas performances to various concerts. Did I mention free parking? I mean, you have free parking at Westbury Music fare but its a nightmare once the concert is over. At The Staller Center, everyone leaves in an orderly fashion, there's no rushing after you leave the performance. Hey, we're polite in Stony Brook! The Staller Center has a very nice seating arrangement. The seats are positioned where you aren't contorting to the side if a giant sits in front of you. The acoustics for the theatre are also of high quality, I heard iLUMINATE rock this theatre with their amazing sound! We're all proud of our town and The Staller Center for the Arts is the crown jewel of the neighborhood.
