As a licensed Ca. agent I provided Kathy Betancourt with two properties to list for sale. Our written agreement provided a 25% agent referral fee to me. Kathy failed to disclose she had a financial interest in the title co. that handled the escrows. I only learned of this after there were multiple problems with the escrow co. giving me inaccurate information along with repeated delays with both escrows, resulting in the buyer of one property cancelling escrow. Despite the fact I found another buyer for that 2nd property, Kathy was still paid her listing agent fee on it. KATHY BETANCOURT NEVER PAID ME MY 25% REFERRING AGENT FEE. She ignored my emails and phone calls. I contacted her real estate office and broker/owner Philip Farhat, and got nothing but the runaround and no calls back. If this agent and her office would cheat me out of a minimal agent referral fee, I shutter to think how they would treat sellers or buyers on larger scale transactions, especially ones from out of town, such as myself!
