They advised they were out iof stock and didn't know when they'd get it. I found a local pharmacy that had the medication in stock. I left 4 messages over the course of 4 days and neither Dr Tumen or anyone else returned my call to this day. I will never use this podiatrist again. There is NO excuse for not returning a patient's call or sending in a new script to the local store as requested. I'll never go back to Hudson Valley Foot Associates ( now affiliated with another company.).

Our foot problem was worrisome but wasn't a major task to repair: it required removing a hard callus and doing some difficult trim work, and it was accomplished quickly and thoroughly and professionally. We came away satisfied - even happy? - with our treatment. We'll be back again in two months. Dr. Sheilds has for decades had a successful surgical office in Florida before returning to New England to be closer to family. His wife is the office manager, and she has the same pleasant demeanor. So, if you have some issues with your feet - which we don't wish on anyone - you should be comfortable starting with this practice here in Litchfield.

About a year later, I met with of Dr Bauer. I met with him a few times before the surgery and for follow up. Surgery went well. Recovery went well. I did have some difficulties. He continued to work with me until everything was good. The receptionist at the front desk knew me, his nurse knew me and he knew me. And THAT is the difference between a small practice and the medical factories. Things have been so good, I haven't had a reason to see him anymore. I recently required knee surgery. Ended up back at one of the big orthopedic practices. It reminded me of why I ended up with Dr. Bauer in the first place. I have started to look at small medical practices like small businesses. We need to shop there to keep them in business.
