He has two different offices (one north in Clifton Park, and one south in Albany) and very early hours on certain days (like 7:30AM, which is perfect for me). We discussed various symptoms I had and in the end came to an agreement to start a new medication and see how things are going in a couple of weeks. He made me feel very comfortable during the entire process. Their sign-in procedure involves using tablets, which I suppose are better than paper forms. The place was easy to get to, and there was plenty of seating in the waiting room. I sometimes end my reviews with "I can't wait to go back" but that doesn't seem right for a specialized doctor's office! However, I do feel comfortable going back again for my follow-up.

I went there for outpatient surgery with Dr. Marici. All the nurses and staff were super nice,…read morefriendly and patient and were very caring. I was told to go to 1st floor, DON'T. Start on 3rd floor. Otherwise, you will be walking around wandering. Signs not to clear but staff and other patients very helpful in finding. Check in was smooth and fast. Room was warm for me. Cold for others. Bring a blanket, I've seen thicker scarves. They will bring you a blanket if you ask. They provide a locker. Also bring a bag for clothing (not comfortable putting on locker floor). They will provide a number that will be on overhead monitor stating patient in surgery. DON'T pay attention to it. My husband left for a little while. When I called to ask where he was, monitor stated, I was in surgery, I wasn't still in hospital room. However, surgery went well, staff very nice and professional. Truth: I was there because of Dr. Marici. I've had 3 colonoscopies at NDH so I would rather go there.

This man has NO bedside manner and doesn't seem to care about his patients much at all. I walked into the office as a twenty-something and immediately upon hearing I was having pain he said he would schedule me for a colonoscopy. I hadn't been in his office for 2 minutes and he was kicking me out and sending me for expensive test number one (one which I thought I wouldn't be getting until I was 40+). I got to the hospital for the colonoscopy and it turns out he also had me scheduled for an endoscopy, which he didn't tell me about, which just shows the lack of communication he has with his patients. I got copies of my charts because I like to have records of all that and he had my medication history incorrect, which could really affect his treatment plan. Eventually after close to half a dozen expensive and invasive tests I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Upon diagnosing me he didn't take the time to explain anything to me or discuss how having this chronic illness would affect the rest of my life, but just kind of sent me on my way. He prescribed me the mildest medication he could, because he said he didn't like side effects of medications, which is valid, however I was having severe symptoms and needed stronger medication that would address them. This medication was very expensive and did little to nothing for me and I had to take it three times a day. Eventually I switched gastro providers and my new provider immediately put me on a steroid which made my symptoms go away and was much cheaper. The new guy told me he wasn't sure why I had been on the medication I was on as it hasn't been proven very effective and is supposed to work on Crohn's disease located in the colon and mine is located in the small intestine. Overall, Dr. Gupta doesn't give enough time to his patients and doesn't seem to care about the quality of care he provides. He seems much more interested in overscheduling his office and passing you off for as many expensive tests as he can.

Fast forward I upon referral from a general practitioner am referred back to this office for concern of possible enlarged prostate. Able to schedule an appointment relatively quick, I was surprised at that. On my scheduled appointment date. I'm seeing the same doctor I saw three years prior. He starts our visit with. "We never received your PSA results ". I responded my what? He states he requested a PSA test, wouldn't you think. If a doctor makes a request of a patient and the results never come in. That doctor would make contact with the patient? And now said doctor has retired and it's been over a month that I've been waiting for replacement doctor to receive a follow up appointment. This group isn't quick with replacement of retired doctors not communicating with patients with concerns of their health care.

At one time I was told to take my lunesta a sleeping pill which I have never been prescribed fir and which I do not take, with mirilax. apparently no clue to what meds I am on. was told to try a low fodmap diet. never mentioned a nutritionist, I had to ask my awesome pc, doctor for a referral. the diet is very confusing, really didn't any explanation for what to expect, so did get my info from my pc. Plus internet in what I should expect. Please look at the reviews before going to this practice, even watched the receptionist argue with a gentleman, his wife and him were so upset when they left and walking by the man said What a Bitch, no compassion at all. I even talked to a manager of Saratoga hospital, the woman is still there. He was also going to turn her in. I just started seeing a new gastrologist, so far very happy, he listens while looking at you not off in to space, took about a 1/2 hour in his office the first time to ask questions. the receptionist, purse and dr. Were very nice and seem compassionate. they put me on a med that is working and helping me to feel better after dealing with this pain and suffering for 2 years. The doctor said that I would not believe the new patients that come to him with similar complaints ands. my reply was (OH YES I DO). Save yourself from all this aggravation and start out with reading ratings and complaints. Albany gastroenterology consultants, is where i go now.

After initially having slight issues with the team of attending doctors who didn't bother to even look twice at what was going on and just treated me like another number, nurse Dolan quickly was able to rectify the situation, adjust my medication and completely turned this experience around for me. The level of attentiveness and compassion from her for me being fresh out of a very painful surgery was unmatched. Shannan Dolan is what we need more of at albany medical center. People who care a lot patients. I was able to discharge from the hospital with the appropriate medications that weren't previously even in the system like they were supposed to be, thanks to Nurse Dolan who handled it all quickly and efficiently. I hope this review gets passed on to her and her supervisors at Albany Med because she definitely deserves to be recognized for her outstanding hospitality and care. Thanks again nurse Dolan.

As a diabetic I am very careful about what I eat and have worked hard to get blood sugar down under control. I have kidney disease due to uncontrolled diabetes. I was admitted to hospital for Acute Kidney Injury due to medication for Gerds. While in hospital the diet staff refused to let me have a diabetic diet and gave me a renal diet with lots of carbs. My blood sugar reflected this and went high. also the staff did finger sticks after I ate not before so not accurate . To mang unprofessional incidents to list here.
