First time trying Los Altos. It was my birthday and who's not down for some Tex-Mex on their birthday? The restaurant had not been open long on our visit but we did not encounter any of the typical service issues you find in a new place. Service was solid and helpful. The space is colorful and bright with a fresh vibe. The food was really tasty. We started with the birria fries and while not a traditional Tex-Mex, it is certainly something I will order here again. So good! My son and I both had tacos. I had carnitas, he had birria and my wife had the tamales, one with red sauce and one with green. Tacos are about as good as you'll find in Springfield. Loved the sauces on the tamales but they were wrapped a little too thick in masa for our taste but we still finished them. I recommend. Good food, good service, bright, friendly vibe. EAT HERE.

I was looking for something with beans and originally ordered the breakfast huarache, mistakenly assuming it was a burrito. I prefer flour tortillas over corn, which started a whole conversation about how the dish is prepared. First, our waiter went to the kitchen to check on modifications, then a second waiter kindly came over to explain the traditional preparation, and finally, the chef himself came out to help! He explained that a huarache is open-faced, not a burrito, but immediately offered a perfect solution: he could custom-make their breakfast burrito using pinto beans as the protein for me instead. When the chef brought it out, it was HUGE. He took the time to explain exactly how he made it and told me to just ask for him or request the modification next time. Not only was the service incredibly attentive, but the burrito was easily the best I've ever had. It's 9 hours later and I am still full from eating just half of it! The food is amazing, the restaurant is clean, and it's clear this team truly cares about their customers. We will definitely be back!

Since I'd not been here before, I ordered my favorite dish, the enchiladas mole. It's pretty good here at Rancho Chico and the little edible corn bowls for the rice and beans are so cute. The salsa was very tasty and bonus, the chips arrived warm. Id like to return and explore the more on the menu.

We were seated promptly and got our drinks in a reasonable amount of time. The complimentary chips and salad appeared almost immediately. The chips were fresh and the salad was house made. Maybe a tad bland for my taste but my friend really enjoyed it. The beans and rice were your standard fare hut I really enjoyed the rice. My friend liked her enchilada and burrito with ground beef. I really liked the shrimp, which came with two soft taco. The shrimp were well cooked and the salsa based sauce was flavorful but not spicy. Overall the portion size was just the right size. Service could have been a bit more attentive, we had to wait a whole for our check but not big deal. You do pay at the counter, not the table. We paid $53 before taxes for two drinks and two dinners.

Our server was Oscar (aka "Whiskey" we found out later) who seemed to be in a huge hurry for us to order. We appreciate the efficiency of us being seated and given menus so quickly but after our drink orders he was there in like 10 seconds ready to take our food order even though we had just received the menu. We asked for more time and he came back again no joke in 60 seconds. Asked for more time and again was back in like 30 seconds. Sigh. As soon as our food came out he disappeared. Didn't check to see how our food was until we flagged him down for another round of drinks. He was friendly just seemed in a hurry. Other than that our experience was great. The place has a very authentic feel. The cheese dip is melty gooey goodness. I got shrimp timpico which was very good. Lots of shrimp in a spicy sauce. My friend got ground beef and queso as a meal. My brother got a quesadilla Del Mar. Everything came out very fast and hot. We loved this place and would come back for sure.

I didn't read the details on the menu but the chimichanga is not a typical filling and when I checked the menu again it says deep fried or baked burrito do it had rice and beans in the filling and was very large. Despite the unexpected filling it was still good but I couldn't eat all of it. My wife's quesadilla was exactly what she expected and she said it was good. We got some chips and salsa as we waited. I'm pretty sure that the chips were house made since they were different from other kinds of tortilla chips I had. The salsa was good, but I definitely would've loved a little more spice to it. We got the Enchiladas Suizas and a Fajita Burrito. The burrito was pretty good, but if I were to go again I'd probably choose something different from the Enchiladas. Just was not for me. I did like how spicy they were though! One thing that also stood out was that much of the time when I go to Mexican restaurants, the portions are pretty big for the prices. The portions were definitely not tiny, but smaller than I would maybe expect for a Mexican restaurant for the price that we paid. I'm not sure if we would choose to go back in the future since it was a stop along the way for a trip for us, but it was not a bad stop. They do have a large parking lot out front which makes parking super easy and that is always a huge plus!

Authentic Mexican Flavors with a Beautiful Presentation!…read more This place serves some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while! I ordered the green enchiladas, and they were absolutely delicious--perfectly rolled tortillas filled with flavorful meat, smothered in a rich green sauce, and drizzled with crema and queso fresco. The refried beans were smooth and creamy, and the rice was fluffy with a great seasoning. The burrito was a showstopper! Stuffed with tender steak and grilled veggies, then topped with a creamy, slightly spicy sauce and fresh pico de gallo. The drizzle of crema and queso fresco gave it an extra layer of indulgence. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portion size was very generous! Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you're craving authentic Mexican food with bold flavors and beautiful plating, this spot is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back! Would highly recommend!

I thought the chicken was stringy and tough but I agreed with her about the beef and the tortillas themselves were great. Neither of us liked the chips and salsa...the chips were dry and the "salsa" tasted like tomato sauce that had a little hot sauce added to it. The atmosphere was tired and, on a day when it was 100-plus outside either the air conditioning couldn't keep up or, worse, hadn't been turned on at all.
