Sioux City, Nebraska This is a newer restaurant. The bar is beautiful with bar top to ceiling bottles of liquor. The restaurant is rather small with limited seating, mostly booths. It is a clean restaurant with concrete floors, black vinyl booth and black tables. They do use real flatware and paper napkins. What is it with restaurants only having one size draft beer? The draft beers are all 23 ounces. It does not matter if you have an import or domestic, all drafts are eight dollars. The chips and salsa are good. Some of the chips had a stale taste to them. But they were only a few. When we asked for a refill on the chips, they were served warm and they tasted so much better. I ordered a combination, chicken burrito and chicken enchilada with black beans. The chicken was shredded, tender and flavorful. The black beans had great flavor. My husband had the chimichanga that included beef, chicken and shrimp. It was a mouthful of meat. This restaurant is a little higher priced for Mexican food than average. But well worth the money as the food was delicious. I would definitely go back if I were in the area. I would give the restaurant 4.4 stars. I did not like that. The kitchen was open and it was my view during the entire dinner along with the bathrooms.

This place was fun! The table side guacamole cart is a must! You can really taste the freshness. They had a great drink selection, with awesome margarita flights and towers. The tacos are huge and the salad was tasty. The chips and salsa at the table are fresh and crunchy. I visited from out of town and it was a fun surprise!

I had the Aguachile Verde and table side guacamole. My son had the Chimichanga Los Altos

Everything was great! Our dinner, the margarita & guacamole made at the table. Was our 1st time, won't be the last!

The restaurant is decorated well and the ambiance is chic without being snooty. Our waitress, Katie, was attentive, friendly, and professional. The food, you ask? Well, my husband had the dinner special - chimichurri surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the shrimp was succulent. The asparagus was cooked just as he loves - tender-crisp. I had the "clobster" with homemade chips. Now for those of you who are like me and have eaten lobster rolls in the New England area, Pacific Nortwest, and worldwide coastal areas, this is NOT served cold! I was extremely surprised when I bit in and warmth permeated my mouth! It was delicious but as happens with warm juices, the toasted bun, alas, turned soggy. And a few chips were underdone...the ones cooked well were tasty and crisp. We both shared the chocolate pie and it was rich and satisfying. So, if you find yourself on the Historic 4th, go ahead and take that chance and sup there...you won't regret it!

March 2027 Sioux City, Iowa…read more Very nice interior. Large bar in the front center that seemed to be popular with guests. A few tables wrapped around the bar. We took a table in the back of the restaurant. Simple table with black cloth napkins. No candle , no flower, just a small salt and pepper set with a few menus. The menu offers a variety from expensive seafood and steaks to sandwiches. I chose the seafood Mac and cheese. My husband had the pork chop with sweet potatoes and a side of grilled cauliflower. The other couple ordered Mediterranean pasta with shrimp instead of chicken which came with a slice of focaccia bread. His wife had the chicken margherita sandwich which came with sweet potato waffle fries. My husband said the pork chop was dry and overcooked. My seafood pasta was served warm. It looked like it sat under the heat lamp while other food was prepared. Oddly enough, my meal did not come with any bread. But the other pasta dish had focaccia bread and even the kids meal that had mac & cheese had a big chunk of bread as well. Was it an oversight? Also missing from my dish was the Panko crumbs that were to top the dish. None to be found! My pasta had really great flavor. A complaint is that every third bite I was pulling a shell out of my mouth. It's good to know that the seafood is fresh, but I should not have to bite around the shell of the seafood. Also, because it was served warm, it made it less than enjoyable. The Mediterranean pasta I was told was delicious and it looked so. A lot of sauce as well. The chicken sandwich was quite large. Although it was tough and not tasty. It came with a side of sweet potato fries, which came out after we started our meal. It was forgotten the first time around. Overall, I would give the ambience an eight. Service was good and it deserves a seven. The food however, which I think is very important when you go to dinner, would get a solid five. I think the flavor was good, but again, because the food was served cold, and the pork chop was overcooked. I would most definitely take points off.

It is on the river with a beautiful view, patio when it's nice, floor to ceiling windows when it's not, ample parking, connected to a hotel, and not difficult to find. The staff is friendly and professional, the menu is extensive, and not only has great sushi, but also fabulous entrées, if seafood isn't your thing. I also appreciate that they have an entire gluten-free menu, vegetarian options, and a mocktail list to go with their fabulous cocktails. I'm not even going to try to tell you all the different food you should try here because it depends on your tastes and there's plenty to choose from. However, there's smoked Manhattan (pictured here) is pretty exceptional. I actually like getting it without the smoke, but if you like a smoky cocktail, the presentation is fabulous. It's a little spendy, but the ingredients are superb. Oh and did I mention that they have a happy hour...

As each couple left. They paid their checks. We happened to be the last to pay. We told the person at the register what we each had ordered. They said okay, but there's $40 left here that someone didn't pay. So we had to pay it. And I'm checking with each of the other four couples, they'd all paid for all of theirs. I don't think they were trying to scam us (probably), but there was clearly some confusion. Our friend who'd made the reservation called but no manager was available. Her call was never returned. This was AFTER one person at our table didn't get his food until after everyone else had eaten already. And another person ordered a steak burrito that had precisely two pieces of steak in it. There was a drink mix-up as well. The food was good, per usual, but unfortunately, it was such a disappointing -and unnecessarily costly- experience that Mi Fam will no longer be on our list.

I arrived just as they opened so I was the first one there. Street parking was not an issue, but it may be later in the day. I don't know. They have a smaller luncheon menu and I chose lasagna and a side salad. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was a really light Italian that was very complementary to the greens and not overwhelming at all. When the lasagna came, I initially thought wow that's a lot of cheese, but it really was not an overwhelming amount. And the taste of the sauce as well as the meat in the lasagna was fantastic. I don't know what I expected, quite possibly the same generic type of lasagna you get at most places, but this was far from it. Very different than many other lasagnas and tasted as if a family member made it with an old secret family recipe. The restaurant is very clean and classy. My server was very polite and attentive, but not overwhelming. I didn't get any bread, which was a bit of a disappointment, not because I need bread in the least, but I do enjoy trying different breads at different restaurants. However, that takes away nothing from the dining experience for me. I won't even remove a star for it. This is five star all the way.
