If you're in for some really good authentic tacos,this is your place! They're super affordable but make sure you have cash because they don't take card. The shrimp taco: I still have dreams about this taco! The shrimp was fresh and juicy. The whole taco itself was just amazing. The al pastor taco: this shredded pork seems to be a local favorite and it is a good choice! The cabeza taco: this shredded beef taco was a little dry and just okay. But they give you a verde sauce if you want and it really does bring it all together. The side of guacamole came with onions and tomato and was really fresh. They make it as soon as you put in an order for it. The portion size of the fajitas is huge! Despite this place being busy, all of the food came out very quickly. They only take cash and there's an ATM inside. Your wallet won't take a beating here and the food was very good. Get a tamale for sure. The hibiscus juice was great and refreshing. I don't think the horchatta was for me as it tasted more floral than i would have liked. There's also pineapple juice and a variety of bottled drinks. I didn't care for the table salsa/sauces but did enjoy the salsa that came with the ordered chips and salsa. The fish in the fish taco was crispy yet moist. It did appear however that the deep fryer oil probably needed to be changed based upon the appearance and taste of the fried fish. Still everything was super tasty! read more

Just got back from el guerros ,took for ever to get my order and was not even busy when I placed order. GOT home with my food 5 steak tacos,1 order steak nachos and a jumbo burrito that I had to pay extra for to add beans and rice .the burrito had no rice the flour tortilla was not even heated up,the meat had no flavor at all,chips were stale.Very disappointed in that place would not recommend if I could give no stars I would . Very good. Several different options on meats, but my "go to" is shredded beef!! My group has had quite a few other menu items with zero complaints. Also, they have a pretty good sized delivery area. Walked in at 2:30 on a Wednesday afternoon and had noticed the "bar" seating was full, so I decided to sit in a booth. Every one in the building acknowledged that I had entered but I had continued to sit and wait for service. I guess that doesn't happen so after five minutes or so of watching the hostess tend to the patrons in front of her and interact with her other employees, I got up and left. In short, if you're not going to offer quality service, I won't offer you my time or money. In addition, my first experience did not go so poorly. I sat at a table, was approached by a server, who, then, took my order. If you see someone sitting in your restaurant, take initiative like the first server did, approach the customer, offer them assistance, and ultimately, retain the customer in your building. I've lived in Sioux City for 12 years now and only recently tried Tacos El Guero. I had the fish and shrimp tacos and they were great! I've also had the milanesa torta which was pretty awesome but they did stack on the jalapeños so next time I'll ask for them on the side. They're very quick and the food is very inexpensive. Great authentic Mexican. Very similar to La Juanita's. Ordered the combination fajitas which was shrimp and beef. Wife had the beef enchilada with a tamale on the side. Service was prompt and the food was excellent and a great value for your money. We will be back. read more

Today being Fathers Day and the fact my husband loves Mexican food and he prefers I not spend this particular holiday in the kitchen, I decided to order delivery from here because I liked the convenience of not leaving the house. I was very leery about trying delivered Mexican but the reviews were so good I thought I would chance it. If you don't mind waiting 90 minutes for your food and once said food arrives it is a soggy flour tortilla filled with mostly rice and soggy gross iceberg lettuce then this is the place for you. What pork was in the jumbo burrito (which by the way the gal on the phone said was the most popular-the pork that is) was very small pieces with a completely different texture than what I am used to in authentic Mexican food. For real, if I wanted to I could have spent about ten minutes in the kitchen making some rice and adding tomato sauce to it and throwing it in a big a$@ tortilla and dumping some jarred queso over it and presto same results for all intents and purposes. Oddly, my son got a cheeseburger and it was way better than their purported specialty. One, well two, saving graces were the chips and salsa and the guacamole. These were very good (thus the 2 vs 1 star, wish I'd have saved about 40 bucks and just got those). read more

This is one of the best Mexican food places in Sioux City. FYI pay attention to the big sign that says order here pay here when you walk in. This was my first visit. Not like you can miss it but just a heads up because apparently people miss it. I ordered the wet burrito and two tacos with a beer. Amazing! I love this little taco joint. They have a good sized menu which includes Mexican to American. They have a live band play almost everyday. I enjoy sitting at the bar and watching TV with my friends. Their food is really good. Their bud light / budwieser is only $2.50 per bottle. Great place to eat and drink before playing on pearl street.
