I was a season ticket holder for 4 years. Just let my tickets go. They either don't understand their own fan base or they don't care. When you buy season tickets, you are supposed to be getting a discount off list price because you are buying a whole season at one time. But, you can not resell the tickets no matter how good the team is for even a decent fraction of the season ticket price. You should just wait until the day before the game and you can get good tickets for under 50% of what I paid as a season ticket holder. There are no valuable perks for season ticket holders either. I have been a Clippers and Lakers fan for many years. More of a Clippers fan yet not a fan of a 40% increase in ticket prices for my renewed half season. The Clippers have not even made it to the Conference Finals. I think it is bad business. Solve the pricing issue with more corporate sponsorships. The games are entertaining and in game entertainment is great!! The Spirit Dance squad always puts on a great performance with high energy. Enjoy the fact Clippers have people out in the crowds doing little giveaways for fans and pumping up the crowd. Clippers need to continue working and energizing the crowds. I have been a Clippers fan for about a good 14 years strong, when they had players such as Olowokandi, Piatkowski, Jaric, Darius Miles, Wang Zhizhi, Lamar Odom, etc. I have fallen in love with this team more over the years. Before, their owner Donald Sterling didn't care much about the team enough to invest some serious money in them so they could compete with their in court rivals, the Lakers. It is nice to see some great changes happening with this amazing but young franchise. Their winner of a coach, Doc Rivers, two of their greatest additions in Chris Paul and Blake Griffin and a bunch of other bright stars including Jordan, Crawford, Reddick, Dudley, Collison, etc. Watching a Clippers game at Staples, you will get your money's worth. This team knows how to entertain their fans with their high flying action and crazy dunking! The Clippers spirit provides for some viewing pleasure during intermissions. There are also some interesting contests that captivate the audience in between breaks. Tickets are cheap in price-cheaper than tickets for a Lakers game would be. Even seats in the nosebleeds provide for a great view. When you have Chris Paul and Blake Griffin leading a fast break, you're in for an exciting finish. The Clippers are probably LA's most exciting team right now. And, if you look around, you can still find tickets for under $30! It's hard to argue that value for a great show. I always have a good time going to see the Clippers. I have never been to a Lakers game to compare it with, but the Staples Center always seem to run smooth and put on a good show when the Clips play. Some advice: Take the metro! Its easy, cheap, and lets you off right across the street, the parking around staples can get ridiculous depending on what else is going on in the area like the convention center. Also, seriously, if you can afford it and they have seats available do not sit at the top of the 300 section... I have done it more than I care to admit and its terrible! If you watch the game from up there its like watching colorful ants, and you find yourself watching the jumbo tron- which is watching TV, IE you can stay home and do that for free. It didn't matter though, it was a great experience and well worth it. I think we picked up tickets for around $30 each and the view was pretty good. Great entertainment throughout, including dunking contest, DJ and American national anthem. We drove in and paid $10 for parking I think and it didn't seem too complex for us. With that said, I've been to a number of Clippers games as well and there's a distinct difference in atmosphere and fanship when comparing Lakers and clippers games. The Clippers organization is unable to handle success. If you have a good relationship with your rep, aka my old one, you will be in the loop of everything going on. If you do not actively seek out your rep, do not expect him or her to seek you out. 2. Great deals well below cost can be had on the day of game. Even tickets for hot games can be had for cheap. Season ticket holders, always get the short end of the straw on the secondary market. In the end of the day, Los Angeles is still a Lakers town. 3. Clippers are the third tenants in Staples Center, so as season ticket holders you will be constantly dealing with scheduling conflicts with other big sporting events, such as March Madness, NFL Playoffs, MLB Playoffs, and the lovely afternoon Martin Luther King Jr game always against the Brooklyn Nets that no one can go to because people have to work. (The Lakers are normally slated for the night game) 4. Season tickets are DEFINITELY not profitable. Not everyone will be able to make all 41 regular season games. It is also extremely tiring to attend every single game. If you enjoy constantly chasing your reps down for answers and selling your tickets for half the cost consistently then this is something you should look into. I am a Clippers Fan, even though they have lost Blake & CP3. Their team is scrappy and they hustle every game and they may or may not make the playoffs, but they are jockeying for the future, and hopefully, a big off season free agent signing. The Lakers on the other hand have been bad for 5 years and no big name wants to play there do to their dysfunction and the post-Kobe legacy. But, my big complaint is that I attended a Clips networking event on Jan. 17th and it was highly disappointing. My friend and I paid $80 each for a $5 ticket in hopes of getting a better seat, some potential Clips swag, and even just a simple buffet meal or appetizer in the process, but no, a $5 ticket was all it entailed. I understand it was a networking event but with that big of a profit margin they might as well been selling popcorn at a movie theater. Was this event to solely bring in some income or an actual attempt to recruit potential employees or create goodwill with fans and the business community? There's nothing like watching live basketball! Something about the energy of the crowd, real live cheerleaders, the squeaking of the sneakers, and the super star basketball players dunking! The downside is, parking across the street is $25, tickets at the mid-level are $200, and food is equally expensive. You're looking at spending close to $500 for a couple of hours of entertainment.
