We canceled our membership because every single person that goes here is a Somalian. I soon learned…read morethat they are all disrespectful to all that are not muslim and the entire staff especially at closing as I saw they won't leave at night when asked. The men pass gas everywhere, and the women take up the entire sauna without leaving. I tried to be positive but clearly the state placed these people at this location in some sort of contract. Now every member is Somalian. I love lifetime and was excited to join a higher standard or clean gym. It's no longer a nice "expensive" gym. It's the Muslim shelter and welfare meet up spot.

I've been a member at this location for over a year now. I prefer Life Time to L.A. Fitness. I…read morenormally go late morning for yoga. I usually see the elderly present or moms with kids. I'll tell you why I think this place is great: PARKING: They have big parking available on-site. Although on the times when I go due to offered class/instructor at 10am M-F, the parking is pretty full. There are signs around other businesses that says "no Life Time parking allowed." But after noon, there are a lot of spaces available. AMENITIES: - Life Cafe - Sauna & hot tub - Life Spa salon - Personal Trainer - Classes - Kids club - Outdoor pool and tennis court - and more... CLEANLINESS: At Life Time Fitness, they offer hand towels and full size bath towels so you don't have to bring in your own. There are hampers throughout the building and you can drop off your dirty towel when you are done. Lockers are clean. Showers are a hit or miss depending the time - morning to early afternoon is clean; but evening, you might see other gym members loose hair in the drain, but I see housekeeping constantly present to maintain the area. I did use their weight machines upstairs and noticed some gym members don't wipe down the equipment. There are sprays and towels available. CLASSES: I mainly attend yoga classes and the studio is kept nice and clean. Numbers on the floor is easy to see. SERVICES: The front desk is welcoming and greets you when you arrive and leave. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and knows you by name. The instructors are helpful if you forgot to RSVP a space and will help you find a spot in class. I booked a massage appointment once at their Life Spa and the masseuse was professional and friendly. The only downside was the pricing. Overall, it is a good place to go work out.

Can I give 6 stars? This gym is amazing! The vibe is…read morenon-intimidating, supportive, and fun! The instructors are skilled and hilarious and somehow make doing planks fun. They also make everyone feel welcome. I've only been for Pilates classes but have been to several of them and loved them all. Pilates classes tend to draw a female crowd which can be intimidating but this studio couldn't be further from that. Everyone is welcoming, no one cares what you wear (Lulu who? Wear your favorite t-shirt), and every skill level is accommodated. They have 4 reformer machines so for classical reformer classes, they have 4 spots. I typically go over lunch and book ~5 days out and usually don't have an issue getting a spot. They use the MindBody app and have their own app as well so booking classes is easy! They use a waitlist and most times I've been on the waitlist, I get added to the class. The instructors mix things up and keep it interesting with fun music! I've been to reformer classes elsewhere with soft, soothing music and it nearly put me to sleep. Not here! Expect 80s jams from Jean, Lizzo from Andrea, and the Doobie Brothers (or Beyonce!) from Ruth. They have a Pilates Circuit class that combines the reformer, jump board, tower, chair, mat, TRX, and more. I haven't done the same workout in a Circuit class once. Circuit classes can have 12 (or maybe even 16) people in a class which is super fun and keeps the energy in class moving. The studio has cubbies for your belongings, a bathroom, towels, and a shower. They have a parking lot with maybe 10 spots and tons of parking spots along the street. I haven't had an issue with parking but they are next door to Psycho Suzi's so on a summer Saturday, give yourself extra time to park. Upstairs they have the "Treehouse" where they hold barre, Pilates, and yoga classes. The back wall of the studio is all windows that face the Mississippi. They also have the "Basement" where they have open gym and weight classes. They even have open gym times in the "Treehouse" with the Pilates equipment! Their prices are wonderful! Your first week is free so definitely try that. I did and 6 months later, am still going to classes. Your first month of unlimited classes is $59 which is INSANE for Pilates. Their memberships get you any class - reformer, yoga, kettlebells, whatever! PLUS unlimited access to open gym times. After the intro month, their prices and membership options vary but are still some of the most affordable options I've seen. They have a 12-class-a-month option for $135 which means each class is $11.25 - for reformer classes! I've seen studios charge $35 for one class. They host free outdoor workouts in the park, bike rides, and "Planks & Dranks" events at local bars. If you're looking for great workouts, a supportive workout community, and affordable classes, try a class at NE Fitness. I suggest the Pilates Circuit Class with Andrea to get you started. See you there!

I love that they don't charge you joiners fee and you can buy your membership several different ways. You can pay for a day pass, punchcard (certain amount of times), or by the months increments (1,3,6,12). A day pass I think is only $5. They also have free nights for anyone who lives in Brooklyn center on Saturday evenings. You are able to use both the pool and the fitness room it's from 5pm to 7pm. I originally bought a 10 inch pass. I liked it so much. I'm planning to now getting a year membership. It's a lot less crowded than other gyms . At least in the evenings. I've never been there other times of the day. I haven't had chance to do the group fitness yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it. I'm also planning to sign up for some swim lessons this year. I would love to learn this would be for summer.

Where nobody can become somebody, but most of all, a gym for everybody…read more Everything at Horsepower Strength and Conditioning starts with its Strength Coach/Owner, Matt Miller. Horsepower is less of a gym, and more of a program. The facility itself contains only what is needed to complete the phases of the program. There is not gym-only option where you can drop-in to do your own thing. The only option is to be 100% committed to the Horsepower program. That said, Matt is terrific at creating a program specific to your goals, and most importantly, appropriate to where you are in your physical and mental journey. Membership here truly runs the gamut of the diversisphere with all colors, creeds, and abilities finding a place where they can push beyond what they thought was possible. We have everyone from pregnant women preparing for birth, to women getting their strength back after birth, top level collegiate athletes, people coming off of injuries or surgeries, people trying to drop weight, people trying to gain weight, power lifters, martial artists, high school footballers looking to earn a scholarship, moms, dads, and everyone in between. It's truly a diverse mix of individuals who train here. The training sessions are private/semi-private, and you'll always have Matt's undivided attention where necessary. To have Coach Miller there to push you, and to make you push yourself, is really the key to unlocking your true potential. A note about pricing...if you inquire expecting gym prices there will be some sticker shock, but treating your inquiry as pricing for personal training/individual strength coaching, and the quote you get will make much more sense. For my private lessons in boxing and kickboxing, I pay $1/minute. The pricing at Horsepower, when broken down by session, comes to less than that, so keep in mind you're going to receive lots of 1-on-1 attention, you're not going to a gym where you'll figure things out on your own. Like I wrote earlier, you're committing to a strength and conditioning program, and you're committing to a coach who's going to make you the best you've ever been. I've been a member for over a year and I'll continue to be. I'm getting stronger and better conditioned all the time, I'm challenged all the time, I'm growing all the time. If you're ready for REAL change, this is the place.
