Has to be the worst Mexican food in the area. Ordered a chicken burrito. It came with chicken in a flour tortilla with some kind a watered down tomato soup sauce and shredded mozzarella on top. What is that? No lettuce, no beans, no guac or sour cream, no rice. Won't be back. read more

I do not recommend this place. Being SoCal born and raised I have fairly high standards for Mexican restaurants and taco shops. Walked in around 9pm and the place seemed to be popping lol...well the food def wasn't. I ordered pastor tacos and the tortillas was pretty decent size, however, the portion was that of the size of a street taco. In addition to the tacos having very little meat and the tortilla being undercooked, the tacos were plain. I only gave it one star bc the Micheladas were delicious! I'm thoroughly impressed with this Mexican restaurant! Mexican food is my favorite so I'm always happy when I find a restaurant that does it better. I ordered the Chile Rellenos for lunch and it was so good! The salsa was good, too! Everyone in our work group liked their food. No complaints! This is impressive because one person said her experience with Mexican food was limited to Taco Bell so she didn't even know what to order. The floors in this restaurant are so clean, they almost shine! Staff were very welcoming and hospitable. We were in and out quickly. There is a Los Compadres in my hometown so based on this visit here, I will try the one in my town now. Another reviewer said the guacamole was spicy here so I will try that next time. read more

Typical run of the mill microwaved runny refried beans that consume most of the plate. Everything tastes the same. Taco Bell has more flavor and creativity. Staff are rude and look dirty (especially the owner /manager) Only thing good is the fact they serve alcohol in this once dry town. I was looking for mexican restaurants near me, and found Los Compadres. I had never heard of it before, and didn't even know that Valdese had a Mexican restaurant. I tried to call in my order, but when I called, it rang once then told me the voicemail was full. So, once I got to the restaurant I just placed a Togo order. It came out really quickly, I didn't wait any more than 5-8 minutes. It was even dinner time, so I expected it to take longer. The first thing I noticed about the restaurant when I walked in was the fact that it was super clean and smelled amazing. The staff made me feel very welcome! I truly appreciate the effort they put into running a friendly and presentable establishment. I ordered the ACP and the guacamole dip. Both were really good, and the ACP came the way that I typically like it... chicken, rice, and absolutely smothered in quest dip. Yum! Valdese is a small place, so unless you want to drive to Hickory or Morganton, the dining experiences are limited. My family loves Mexican food. We've tried Los Compadres several times...each time was a disappointment. We have tried different dishes, and no matter what, something always comes out of the kitchen burnt and inedible. The staff isn't very friendly, and they don't do anything to rectify food mistakes. read more

My family and I, ate at Los Conpadres recently and we had multiple dilemmas. Leading with, when we tried to call in our order for take out no one answered the phone, we tried calling numerous times and still no answer, our speculations were that they were very busy. So we decided to drive to los compadres and place our order there and after eat at home, everything went smoothly(workers were very nice, didn't take long at all) but when we got home, our food was not satisfying. Our steak was very dry, the amount of Queso was little to none, the tortilla shell was very dry also I found a hair in my food. We tried to contact Los Conpadres and tell them about our inconveniences they were understanding but acted like it was my fault. 1/5 I do not recommend. read more

I've been here twice for lunch and I think it's excellent! You can get the usual lunch specials with taco, burrito, beans & rice, but if you delve into the menu a little more you'll find delicious tacos al pastor and other stuff. Great guacamole. Food is normally good however, we will not be going back! I eat Mexican food several times a week and would much rather go to Habaneros! Ordered two separate to go orders and asked for a bag of chips and salsa with each order, waitress was extremely rude, said you have to pay for more than one bag of chips, we explained we had two separate orders for two separate families and she told us no only one per household unless you're a nurse and tried to charge us $4.00 for a bag after already spending $40 on food. Ordered a lime with my taco and didn't get it, when I went back to get it she tried to charge me again after I already paid. Very rude and bad customer service. You would think with all businesses being shut down they would appreciate their customers. Any other Mexican restaurant would be more than willing to give you one more bag of chips for 5+ people. read more
